Abstract

This study analyzed tourism communications related to community satisfaction in tourism services, quality of products, and the attraction of Lake Toba. Quantitative descriptive research using non probability and purposive sampling involving 100 respondents. The results showed that the majority of respondents were women as many as 58%. While for men 42%. Thus women are more likely to like Lake Toba tourism. Based on the simple linear regression equation, it is known that Y = 12.691 + 0.736X, which means that every 1% addition of the level of community satisfaction (X) will increase Lake Toba tourism by +0.736. While the comparison of the t value and t table, it is known that the t value of 28.600 is greater than the t table of 1.98447, so it is concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, that community satisfaction influenced on Lake Toba Tourism. The magnitude of the influence of community satisfaction on Lake Toba Tourism is obtained from the SPSS output with an R Square value of 0.893. This means that the effect of community satisfaction on Lake Toba Tourism is 89.3%, while 10.7% is influenced by variables are not in this study

Abstract

Covid – 19 pandemic has changed the structure of human life, especially in the field of communication, which resulted in a communication crisis in the middle of the GBI Pondok Toba community. This study aims at analyzing crisis communication in the middle of Covid – 19 pandemic of GBI Pondok Toba Deli Serdang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. As a result of this pandemic has resulted in a communication crisis ranging from a lack of understanding of the Covid – 19 pandemic, ignoring government recommendations to use masks and other protective devices, the emergence of several conflicts in the congregation's household due to financial factors and other individual problems, reduced family feeling because of the thought to keep a distance even though it can be done through the media and the lack of attention of church leaders for disadvantaged congregants, widows and the elderly. Church leaders must change the way they communicate to provide solutions to the communication of the crisis that occurred.

Abstract

This study analyzes the political marketing strategy carried out by the Surya-Taufik pair who are the incumbent pair in participating in the simultaneous regional head elections (Pemilukada) in 2020 in Asahan Regency. The involvement of the incumbent pair in regional head elections is often seen as a strong candidate, this happens because the incumbent pair is considered to have had more dominant political capital such as popularity, network and image. The incumbent pair is considered to have a good image as a popular official in the eyes of the public, especially if it is supported by the performance of a positive figure, it will certainly strengthen the relationship between voters and candidate pairs in terms of winning. The theories used to explain these problems are democracy theory, political marketing theory, political communication theory and role theory. From the search results of researchers in the field, researchers get a summary of the flow of the process of winning the Surya-Taufik candidate pair, namely the process of candidacy, forming a winning team, conducting research, designing political products, implementing political products, establishing political communication and building commitment. The political marketing theory carried out by the Surya-Taufik pair uses three approach models, namely push marketing, pull marketing and pass marketing in conducting political campaigns. This strategy is a comprehensive step taken by the Surya-Taufik couple and the success team that can be accepted by all circles of society.

Abstract

This study aims at determining the communication strategy used by the Department of Culture in an effort to preserve the Serampang Dua Belas Dance in Medan City and the obstacles experienced in implementing communication strategies in preserving this dance. The research subjects are Policy Stakeholders at the Culture Service, Malay Community Leaders, and the owners of the Serampang Dua Belas Dance Studio in Medan City. Data collection techniques are through research in the field using observation methods and in-depth interviews with research informants and using literature or documents that support research. Data processing used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the descriptive analysis of the study indicate that the communication strategy used by the Department of Culture is not as effective as before, especially in the areas of message preparation, method use, and media use. The Department's program experienced obstacles and did not run as it should, this was because the presenced of Covid-19 made the work program of the Office constrained due to budget constraints for funding the preservation program, reduction of activities, especially dance dance training, and no competitions were held in connection with the prohibition of crowds on the grounds of health protocols, and others. Preservation methods such as the Redundancy method and the Persuasive Method in the form of approached and establishing cooperative relationships with related parties such as the executive, private parties, the press, and others had not been carried out, to strive for the Serampang Dua Belas Dance to be more existent in the eyes of the public and tourists in particular.

Abstract

This study discusses about the influence of Hell's Kitchen impressions on Youtube on the Behavior of Management Students of the Polytechnic of Tourism in Medan. This study aims at determining the effectiveness of Hell’s Kitchen shows in influencing behaviors seen from the cognitive, affective and conative aspects of students in the Medan Tourism Polytechnic Management Study Program. The population in this study is as many as 225 students from Tourism Management Study Program Medan Tourism Polytechnic, which were then sampled using the taro yamane formula to 69 respondents. The correlation results see the hell's kitchen show on the behavior obtained a significance value of 0,000 so there is a significant correlation of viewing the hell's kitchen show on the behavior of students of Management Tataboga. Correlation coefficient value of 0.769 means that there is a positive correlation meaning the higher the hell's kitchen shows, the better the behavior will be. The correlation coefficient value is included in the effective category so that seeing hell’s kitchen shows is considered effective in improving the behavior of students in management hopefully. Through the hell's kitchen program students are able to absorb the positive things contained in these shows this shows students have good behavior in absorbing the information obtained.

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing how the role of political communication in maintaining public confidence in the Prosperous Justice Party (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) Constituency III Medan City. The research method used in this study is qualitative research. The results show that the role of political communication in maintaining trust in the Prosperous Justice Party (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) Constituency III Medan City was going well where as a political commander was able to convey his political messages through the party and was able to be carried out by the PKS by running well by invites the public to dialogue and adjust with the community's educational background and give the contents of the message clearly and in detail so as to be able to arouse attention arousing interest and interest so as to have a strong willingness to accept the decision of the message. Besides that, in delivering messages to the PKS community, they directly approached religious leaders in District III of Medan City

Abstract

In accordance with Kotler & Armstrong's theory, explaining integrated marketing communication can form a strong identity of a brand to tie together and strengthen the message and image of a company, to produce consistency for a communication budget to be more effective, communication is getting better and its impact is an increase in sales. This study aims at determining the role of marketing communication strategies in increasing public interest in buying M-150 Products at Suzuya Supermarket, Medan City. The method used is descriptive qualitative, to explain and describe the phenomena occurred. The results of the study show that the sale of M-150 Products at SUZUYA Supermarket dropped sharply because it did not use Communications Strategy. This affects the buying interest of people who are less familiar with the benefits and uses of the product.

Abstract

Peranan pemerintah dalam pemberian bantuan program keluarga harapan tidak tepat sasaran, Hal ini menjadi perhatian untuk mengetahui faktor penyebabnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kecamatan Medan Baru dan untuk mengetahui faktor penghambat Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kecamatan Medan Baru. Penelitian ini, menggunakan metode kualitatif, dan menggunakan sumber data primer dan data sekunder. Subjek penelitian dilaksanakan di Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara dan di Kecamatan Medan baru. Berdasarkan analisa data yang telah di lakukan, di peroleh kesimpulan bahwa Peranan Dinas Sosial Provinsi Sumatera Utara dalam meningkatkan kesehjateraan masyarakat di Kecamatan Medan Baru, sudah terlaksana dengan baik, penerima bantuan program keluarga harapan sudah tepat sasaran, dan keberhasilan PKH dikecamatan medan baru mencapai 60%-75% kalau dilihat dari kacamata Sumatera Utara, dan faktor penghambat adalah keterlambatan penyaluran bantuan sembako.

Abstract

Berdasarkan studi awal dalam pelaksanaan fungsi penyelenggaraan dalam program akuntabilitas informasi publik yang tidak transparan dan akuntabel. Hal ini menjadi faktor utama dalam mengetahui penyebab terhadap sistem penyelenggaraan dalam akuntabilitas dan pelayanan publik Penelitian dengan peranan Disnaker Provsu dalam program akuntabilitas informasi publik. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah : (1). Untuk mengetahui bagaimana Disnaker Sumut memberikan perannya dalam penyelenggaraan sistem akuntabilitas dan pelayanan publik,(2).Untuk mengetahui apakah sumber adaya manusia mempengaruhi kualitas kinerja terhadap akuntabilitas informasi publik pada DisnakerSumut. Penelitian ini, menggunakan metode kualitatif, dan menggunakan sumber baik primer &sekunder, serta menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian atau informan adalah Staf dan pegawai Disnaker. Hasil penelitian diperoleh simpulan bahwa Dinas TenagaKerja Sumut dalam melakukan pelayanan publik, sudah terlaksana dengan baik, secara transparan dan akuntabel untuk mewujudkan sistem pemerintah yang baik bersih,jujur dan bebas dari kolusi, korupsi dan nepotisme.

Abstract

This study aims at finding the relationship between the development and communication of the crisis in the new normal era. This research was conducted by taking information from various sources and then a summary of these sources is put together as reading material.There are many diverse responses from netizens regarding the implementation of new normal in Indonesia today. Based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, everyone inevitably has to adapt to new habits so that during the Covid-19 pandemic. New normal refers to new habits that are felt uncomfortable, but must be made comfortable for the sake of survival. Like studying online at home, working from home, and refraining from leaving the house as long as the Covid-19 outbreak has not subsided. But the definition of new normal in question does not seem to be fully understood by the people of Indonesia. The majority of people understand that new normal is a suggestion to return to activities as usual, the same as before the Covid-19 pandemic occurred. In the Covid-19 crisis, the government needs to conduct effective crisis communication by conveying transparent information related to the handling of Covid-19. Failures in communication can worsen the situation and make it difficult for governments to deal with crises. Not infrequently new problems will emerge, namely the communication crisis. So, ethics in crisis communication is an important part that should not be ignored.
