Abstract

This thesis entitled is Moral Values ​​in Antoine De Saint Exupery's The Little Prince. This analysis is about the moral values ​​contained in the little prince character. In this thesis, the writer wants to show some of the moral values ​​that exist in the character of the little prince and show how the author describes each of the moral values ​​contained in the novella. To complete this analysis, the writer used Teori Pengkajian Fiksi by Nurgiyantoro,the writer also used qualitative research and conducts several analysis results on the library. As data analysis, the writer chose the novella The Little Prince (le petit prince) with the title Moral Values ​​in Antoine de saint exupery's The Little Prince. The results of this thesis, the writer found several moral values ​​namely responsibility, care, love and affection, politeness, friendship, loyalty, honestly and humility and the writerdescribe how the potrayed of moral values that have been found

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisa jenis dari bahasa figuratif yang terdapat dalam puisi-puisi berbahasa Inggris (William Wordsworth). Selain itu, artikel ini juga akan mengemukakan jenis – jenis bahasa figurative dan jenis bahasa figuratif yang paling dominan serta tujuan dari Bahasa figurative yang digunakan. Artikel ini menggunakan metode descriptive qualitative dan quantitative. Hasil Analisa menunjukkan bahwa ada 8 (delapan) bahasa figuratif dalam 10 puisi yang dipilih (150 baris). Terdapat 93 data yaitu: Personification 19 data (20,43%), Assonance 18 data (19,39%). Simile 8 data (8,60%), Rhetorical Question 5 data (5,37%), Hyperbole 13 data (13,97%), Apostrophe 7 data (7,52%), Alliteration 13 data (13,97%), dan yang terakhir Synecdoche 10 data (10,75%). Dari jenis - jenis bahasa figuratif yang digunakan dalam puisi – puisi William Wordsworth ditemukan bahwa jenis bahasa figuratif, personification paling dominan digunakan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa personification digunakan untuk memperindah karya dalam penyampaian pesan dalam puisi - puisi William Wordsworth.

Abstract

In this study, the researcher analyzes taboo language phenomenon in a comic entitled My ID Is Gangnam Beauty especially on the kinds of taboo language used uttered by the characters with good academic background. The objectives of this research are to identify and describe the types of taboo language uttered by the characters of Maenggi Ki’s My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, to find out the most dominant types of taboo language of taboo language uttered by the characters in Maenggi Ki’s My ID Is Gangnam Beauty and to find out the reasons for the most dominant type of taboo language uttered by the characters in Maenggi Ki’s My Id Is Gangnam Beauty. The researcher uses a descriptive qualitative method based on Batistella (2005) theory and Wardhaugh (2006) theory. The technique of analyzing data are: classifying, analyzing, discussing and reporting. Based on the result on the analysis, there are four types of taboo language that found in My Id Is Gangnam Beauty: Ephitet, Obscenity, Profanity, and Vulgarity. The most dominant type is Ephitets type which are found one hundred six (106) times out of 84 episodes. There are 4 the functions that can be reasons of most dominant taboo language is occur that found in My ID Is Gangnam Beauty: To Draw Attention to Oneself, To Show Contempt, To be Provoke, To Mock Authority out of 84 episodes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membicarakan tentang Fungsi Ujar dalam Artikel Gaya Hidup Majalah Cosmopolitan. Alasan penulis memilih artikel gaya hidup karena artikel-artikel tersebut berisi rekomendasi mengenai banyak produk yang ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris. Alasan memilih Fungsi Ujar adalah karena Fungsi Ujar digunakan banyak digunakan dalam tulisan dan alasan memilih majalah Cosmopolitan karena majalah tersebut menggunakan bahasa Inggris sehinnga penulis tidak perlu menerjemahkan artikel tersebut ke dalam bahasa Inggris. Masalah yang didiskusikan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis Fungsi Ujar, Fungsi Ujar yang paling dominan dan alasan terjadinya jenis Fungsi Ujar yang paling dominan dalam artikel gaya hidup majalah Cosmopolitan. Penulis menggunakan teori Halliday untuk menganalisis data. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada empat jenis funsi ujar dalam artikel gaya hidup majalah Cosmopolitan yang diterbitkan bulan April 2022; yaitu pernyataan, pertanyaan, penawaran, dan perintah.

Abstract

This thesis deals with Slang Words in Jessie J’s Song Lyrics. This study aims at finding out the slang words in Jessie J’s Song Lyrics; the most dominant type of slang words in Jessie J’s Song Lyrics; and the reason of the dominant type word in Jessie J’s Song Lyrics. This study applies qualitative and quantitative research method. Based on the types, It was found that there are 22 slang words in ten Jessie J’s Song Lyrics; Shortened Sentence Forms (til,shh, I’mma, cause, ain’t).Society Slang (Damn, Fuck up, Bitch, L.A, FB), Blending (Gotta, Woulda, Gonna, Wanna), and Someone’s Nickname (Mamma Daddy, Motherfucker, Dude, Babe, Mummy, Bunny). The reason for slang used in Jessie J lyrics are to make them look unique and interesting, keep up with the times, add beauty to the tone in singing, and can make them shorter than grammatical words.
