Aim Jurnal Penelitian is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research on various aspects of religiosity, Islam, and culture in Indonesia. As a predominantly Muslim country, Indonesia is home to a diverse range of local cultures. Islam, which originated outside of Indonesia, brought with it not only religious doctrines but also cultural influences. The interaction between Islam— as the majority religion— and the unique cultural identity of Indonesia is a central theme of the journal. The journal focuses on exploring the dynamics between Islam and Indonesian identity, examining how the two intersect and influence each other. Scope The dynamics between Islam and Indonesian identity enable a diverse range of scientific studies. Therefore, the scope of Jurnal Penelitian includes issues related to: - The relationship between Islam and local culture in Indonesia, - Islamic movements vis-a-vis the state in Indonesia, - Mainstreaming religious moderation in Indonesia, - Islamic education and appreciation of local culture in Indonesia.

Abstract

Adolescent delinquency in Indonesia increasingly appears in concrete forms such as inter-student violence, substance abuse, risky sexual behavior, and peer-group conflicts, reflecting identity confusion, emotional instability, and weakened social attachment. In Pekalongan, these conditions are intensified by digital overexposure, academic competition, economic uncertainty, and tensions between traditional values and modern youth culture. This study aims to explore tahlilan as a reflective–cultural strategy to support adolescent psychosocial well-being. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with adolescents, cultural figures, and community members, supported by literature and document analysis. Data were analyzed thematically through an iterative process of open coding, categorization, and theme construction to interpret patterns of emotional regulation, identity negotiation, and religious coping. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that tahlilan can be optimized through four interrelated components: guided self-reflection, prayer and gratitude journaling, safe community spaces, and digital engagement via the hashtag #TahlilanUntukJiwa. These components function as mechanisms for emotional containment, identity consolidation, psychological resilience, and religious character formation through collective spiritual experiences. The study concludes that revitalizing culturally embedded spiritual practices, when integrated with reflective and digital strategies, can serve as a preventive and promotive approach to adolescent mental health challenges.

Abstract

This study examines Ngajiblox, a virtual Qur’anic study initiative organized by Mario (Majelis Roblox Indonesia) on the Roblox platform, to analyze how digital environments produce religious simulacra and hyperreal experiences. As religious practices increasingly move online, the research explores how Islamic learning, ethical conduct, and communal interaction are reconfigured in virtual space. A descriptive qualitative method with a netnographic approach was employed. Data were gathered through online observation, in-depth interviews, and content analysis, and interpreted using Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and simulation. The findings reveal that the virtual mosque functions as a socio-religious arena where Islamic practices are reconstructed through digital symbols, avatars, spatial design, and virtual artifacts. Rather than simply imitating offline gatherings, the sessions generate an autonomous religious reality in which learning and spirituality are experienced as authentic. Elements such as mosque icons, gender-segregated areas, and live broadcasts from a physical mosque in Klaten strengthen the sense of hyperreal religiosity. Participants engage in study, ethical reflection, and social interaction in ways that parallel offline life, while remaining aware of limitations such as distraction and “instant” spirituality. Islamic subjectivity thus emerges through negotiation between digital simulation and embodied faith.

Abstract

This study is grounded in concerns over the transformation of local cultural values amid modernization, which may weaken their role in shaping social behavior. It examines the philosophical meaning and socio-discursive role of maja labo dahu within the Bima community of West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The discussion focuses on the integration of Islam and local culture, the construction of moral discourse, and the role of power relations in sustaining social norms. This study aims to analyze (1) the philosophical values embodied in maja labo dahu, (2) its function as a dominant moral discourse from a Foucauldian perspective, and (3) the role of power relations in its institutionalization within social institutions. This research employs a qualitative approach with a critical discourse analysis framework. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using inductive and deductive techniques. Data validity was ensured through triangulation. The findings reveal that maja labo dahu, meaning “shame and fear,” represents a synthesis between Islamic teachings and local cultural values that forms the ethical foundation of Bima society. From a Foucauldian perspective, it functions as a dominant moral discourse reproduced through educational, religious, and governmental institutions. The study concludes that maja labo dahu is a dynamic discursive practice shaping moral subjectivity, collective identity, and social order, while reflecting the operation of power–knowledge in contemporary society.
