Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Umrah Management at PT. Putra Duta Wisata Palembang" This study aims to find out about the implementation of Umrah management at PT. Putra Duta Wisata. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach method with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study generally show that PT. Putra Duta Wisata Palembang applies Umrah Management which has been implemented quite well through several processes which are management functions from planning which include internal meetings, selecting hotels and airlines determining package prices, organizing namely arranging tasks and responsibilities in managing Umrah worship activities to be carried out, implementing Umrah worship and supervision carried out from departure to return this has a positive impact on the congregation towards satisfaction and smoothness of Umrah worship, so that Umrah management activities can be implemented and fulfill the wishes of the congregation and attract the interest of the congregation to continue to trust this travel agency and also this company is expected to continue to improve the management of the quality of service provided to Umrah pilgrims at PT. Putra Duta Wisata

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of Islamic da’wah values in the Bugis tradition of Mabbaca Baca practiced in Upang Ceria Village, Muara Telang District. The Mabbaca Baca tradition involves the recitation of prayers and verses from the Holy Qur’an during special occasions such as weddings, thanksgiving ceremonies, and other customary events. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that this tradition embodies da’wah values, including the values of faith (aqidah), Islamic law (sharia), and moral conduct (akhlaq), manifested through strengthening faith, applying Islamic teachings in daily life, and fostering behavior aligned with religious principles. The implementation of these values not only preserves local cultural heritage but also serves as a medium for religious guidance within the community. Thus, the Mabbaca Baca tradition plays a significant role in strengthening Islamic identity and maintaining social harmony among the Bugis diaspora.

Abstract

Instrumental music is an art form that relies on the power of sound as the primary medium for conveying messages without the use of vocal elements. This study examines the creative process, foundations of creation, and musical analysis of the work "Kidung Gitar," composed by Agung Sejarah Munggaran as part of the final exam for his Music Composition course. This work combines rock, metal, and shoegaze genres, with the guitar as the primary instrument and the flute as a melodic backing. Through exploration of guitar playing techniques, the selection of popular notation, and the incorporation of conventional instruments, the composer strives to create music that communicates without words. The results of the study indicate that this work represents a fusion of technique, creativity, and a deep understanding of music theory, thus providing a unique and engaging musical experience for listeners.

Abstract

This artistic practice-based research aims to create a collaborative musical work as a sonic dialogue between Western and Eastern music. The instruments utilized include saxophone and guitar, representing Western idioms, and kacapi (Sundanese) and tabla (Indian), representing Eastern traditions. The creation process involved three main stages: idiom exploration, improvisational experimentation, and final composition arrangement. The findings demonstrate the feasibility of integrating rhythmic structures (tala) and traditional melodic patterns (pelog/salendro) with modern jazz harmony and improvisation. The collaborative process fostered active dialogue among musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, inherently cultivating cross-traditional understanding. Analysis of the work confirms that idiomatic synthesis is achievable without compromising each instrument's musical identity, provided there is aesthetic, technical, and cultural awareness throughout the creation stages. This work not only yields new musical forms but also underscores the significance of an intercultural approach in contemporary art. Furthermore, the creative process serves as a reflective vehicle for re-evaluating the relationship between individual expression, cultural identity, and the potential for equality in cross-traditional collaboration

Abstract

Lars von Trier's Breaking the Waves (1996) succeeded in initiating polarizing arguments concentrated on the tragic fate of its central heroin, Bess. The violent misogynistic treatments she receives from the society in her village—governed by a deeply patriarchal institution—could not be discounted. However, the experimentation of sexual roles in a heterosexual relationship in patriarchy conducted in the film is another interesting source of analysis. The film proposes a reversed concept of sexual subject/object and orchestrates a certain situation where such anomaly morphs into an extremely instrumental aspect to the main characters' (Bess' and Jan's) beings and fates. In this study, the dynamics of Jan's idea about object and power, his act of assuming the concept of sexual object as his identity, his loss of physical ability and the power, and his attempt at recalling the lost essence through an eccentric request is analyzed by employing Foucault's concepts of power/knowledge and arts of existence. The utilized methods of analysis are close reading and textual analysis in which the material object’s elements or components as well as their relationships are closely examined based on certain theoretical framework. This study found that Jan is demonstrating the decentralized nature of power, in this case sexual power, in the face of essentializing patriarchal ideas about sexual subject/object and male/female sexual identities through his identification as a sexual object despite of being a male in a patriarchal society.

Abstract

This research examines the portrayal of feminists in Pride and Prejudice (2005) and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016). Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes how the main female characters, Elizabeth Bennet and Jane Bennet, exemplify feminist principles. The study presents three key findings. First, it reveals that both Elizabeth and Jane view marriage as based on love and happiness rather than social or economic status. Second, Elizabeth's character is portrayed as an independent woman with critical thinking skills, shown through her efforts to defend her honor and her family's reputation. Lastly, the inclusion of zombie elements in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies highlights the two female characters as brave, strong women who do not rely on men, demonstrated by their ability to take care of themselves and those around them.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Si Prenjak Emas application as a form of e-government implementation to support road infrastructure improvements in Probolinggo Regency. The background to this research is based on the high rate of road damage that exceeds the funding capacity of the Regional Budget (APBD), as well as the public's lack of understanding regarding road authority and class. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of Si Prenjak Emas has successfully increased the efficiency and effectiveness of public services in the road infrastructure sector.

Abstract

The compensation system within the Indonesian National Police (Polri) organization focuses on financial aspects, which are oriented towards the distribution of basic salaries, allowances, and incentives. This orientation towards purely financial compensation is limited in its ability to respond to the complex social dynamics of the era of globalization, which demands credibility, competence, and adaptability from Polri personnel. This study aims to explore the potential of providing non-financial benefits such as scholarships as a means of adaptation and a focus on the long-term orientation of the Indonesian National Police organization. This study uses a literature study approach with secondary data sourced from academic journals, government publications, and other relevant documents, which are analyzed descriptively. The results of this study show that the compensation system in the Polri organization is still dominated by the dimension of financial compensation, in which case there is an urgency to integrate scholarships as a reward for self-development. The implementation of scholarships faces structural and cultural challenges as well as budget constraints, but the scholarship provision strategy has the potential to strengthen the intellectual, professional, and social capacity of Polri individuals in facing the social dynamics of society. The implications of this research focus on the need to reformulate Polri's compensation policy through the formal integration of scholarships as a long-term investment instrument for human resource development.

Abstract

This study presents a phenomenological portrait of the ‘Silver Man’ within Jakarta's urban social landscape using Anthony Giddens’s structuration analysis framework. Silver Man, as social actors in public space, inherently embodies the duality of structure and agency. This research explores how social structures—such as urban political-economic conditions, stigma, and public norms—simultaneously shape and are shaped by the agency of individual Silver Man individuals. Through thematic analysis of everyday practices and subjective experiences, it is found that they are not merely passive objects of structural pressures (poverty, the need for survival), but also active agents who reflexively negotiate these conditions. Their agency is evident in their adaptation strategies, expressions of unique identities, and reconfigurations of the meaning of social space. The results underscore the dialectical nature between the available ‘rules and resources’ (structure) and the ‘social practices’ (agency) they engage in, demonstrating that structure and agency are interconnected and inseparable in shaping the social reality of Silver Man. This study provides a richer understanding of the city's urban social dynamics and contributes to structuration theory in explaining the complexity of marginalization amidst Jakarta's modernizing urban space.

Abstract

Bahasa merupakan aspek fundamental yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai sarana pembentukan, penguatan, dan pelestarian identitas budaya suatu masyarakat. Melalui bahasa, nilai-nilai, norma, sistem kepercayaan, serta tradisi ditransmisikan dari generasi ke generasi sehingga memungkinkan terjadinya kesinambungan budaya. Bahasa juga berperan sebagai simbol identitas yang mempertegas perbedaan dan keunikan suatu kelompok sosial dari kelompok lain, baik dalam lingkup lokal, nasional, maupun global. Identitas budaya yang dibangun melalui bahasa tidak bersifat statis, melainkan dinamis, karena terus beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman, teknologi, serta interaksi antarbudaya. Dalam konteks globalisasi, bahasa menghadapi tantangan besar berupa dominasi bahasa internasional yang berpotensi menggeser eksistensi bahasa daerah dan melemahkan identitas budaya lokal. Namun demikian, bahasa juga dapat menjadi instrumen perlawanan kultural melalui revitalisasi bahasa daerah, penguatan literasi, serta kebijakan bahasa yang mendukung keragaman linguistik. Dengan demikian, bahasa memiliki peran strategis dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara pelestarian kearifan lokal dan keterbukaan terhadap pengaruh global. Kesadaran akan peran bahasa dalam membentuk identitas budaya sangat penting untuk memperkuat jati diri bangsa, mendorong dialog antarbudaya, serta menciptakan harmoni dalam kehidupan masyarakat yang semakin plural dan multikultural.
