Abstract

The death of a father, as the central family figure, triggers significant changes in family structure and dynamics, necessitating effective communication strategies to maintain emotional bonds among members. This study explores the interpersonal communication strategies used by the eldest child to preserve emotional attachment with the mother and younger siblings after the father's death. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research examines the eldest child's role as an emotional mediator, practical supporter, and family bond strengthener through in-depth interviews and non-participant observation with bereaved families. Key findings reveal dominant strategies including open communication, structured empathy, active listening, conflict mediation, and clear role and responsibility allocation to minimize ambiguity. These practices foster a sense of security, solidarity, and family adaptation to the new circumstances. Theoretically, this study enriches family communication literature in crisis contexts; practically, it provides recommendations for counselors, social workers, and family members to design communication interventions supporting recovery and cohesion post-loss. The impact of this research lies in its potential to guide family communication frameworks and psychosocial support programs, ensuring that grieving families can transform loss into resilience and sustain long-term relational well-being.

Abstract

This study analyzes how viewers perceive family conflicts in the film Andai Ibu Tidak Menikah dengan Ayah (If Mom Hadn't Married Dad). The main focus of this analysis is the absent father figure, the mother's sacrifice, and the film's impact on children's mental health. The purpose of this study is to determine how viewers perceive the family conflicts depicted in the film. Qualitative methods were used to conduct a reception analysis using Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding model. This analysis was conducted through in-depth interviews with seven informants. Three types of audience positions were identified in this study: dominant-hegemonic, negotiated, and oppositional. The dominant-hegemonic position shows that the audience understands the film's message in accordance with the filmmaker's intentions, while the negotiated position shows that the audience provides critical interpretations. The film not only successfully conveys moral principles about sacrifice, responsibility, and the importance of family communication, but also encourages viewers to reflect on themselves.

Abstract

aspects such as packaging as an effective marketing strategy. This study aims to redesign the packaging of Kedai Mie Esha to make it more attractive, informative, and reflective of a consistent brand identity. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) method with a qualitative approach, encompassing observation, interviews, SWOT analysis, design, validation, revision, and product testing. Data were collected through direct interaction with the owner and field observation. Findings reveal that the previous styrofoam packaging lacked visual appeal and brand identity. The redesigned packaging, made from ivory paper and polypropylene for beverages, integrates visual elements such as the logo, warm color tones, bold typography, and business contact information. The final design enhances visual appeal, strengthens brand image, and improves promotional effectiveness across both offline and online platforms. The study implies that integrating aesthetic and functional elements in packaging design plays a crucial role in increasing product value and expanding market reach, especially for local culinary businesses.

Abstract

The Family Hope Program (PKH) in West Tanjungpinang District aims to improve the welfare of the community, particularly poor families, through cash assistance. This study evaluates PKH's performance within the context of the complexity of poverty in Indonesia and government efforts to address it. Although program outputs have met targets, gaps in aid distribution and a lack of public understanding of the program remain. Accurate data validation and intensive mentoring are crucial to ensure targeted assistance. Challenges encountered include data inaccuracy, lack of public awareness, administrative issues, and potential misuse. The analysis of PKH inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes highlights the need for ongoing monitoring and evaluation. While the program has potential, improvements in human resources and data management are essential for optimal success. Collaborative efforts between the government and the community are also needed to address existing challenges and ensure the effectiveness of PKH assistance.

Abstract

This study explores whether corruption can be considered a cultural phenomenon in Indonesia, focusing on a case study in Sena Baru Hamlet, Kuta Paret Village, Selesai Subdistrict, Langkat Regency. A qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Findings indicate that while corruption has not fully become an inherited tradition like customary values, it is increasingly accepted within certain social contexts. Factors such as low transparency, weak social oversight, and kinship ties are among the key drivers of corrupt practices at the village level. Furthermore, some community members view corruption as a natural consequence of holding public office or as repayment for support received. Despite this, there remains potential to prevent corruption from becoming deeply rooted through anti-corruption education, strengthening the role of religious figures and youth groups, and improving local governance structures.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality of water hyacinth weaving as a determinant of product eligibility for export by artisans in Sukaraja Village, Rajapolah, Indonesia. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, this study focuses on exploring production techniques, quality assessment processes, and challenges faced by local artisans in meeting export standards. Data collection involved direct observation, in-depth interviews with artisans and exporters, and documentation of the weaving production stages. Results show that despite traditional manual tools and limited technological support, artisans exhibit strong creativity. However, the lack of standardization, inconsistent quality, and limited understanding of international requirements, especially from countries like Japan, hinder product acceptance in global markets. Improving quality control, design innovation, and market knowledge are essential for enhancing competitiveness.

Abstract

This article explores the rationale behind the revocation of Government Regulation (GR) No. 5 of 2021 on Risk-Based Business Licensing and its replacement by GR No. 28 of 2025. Using a normative juridical approach, the study assesses the effectiveness of the existing regulatory framework and the urgency for reformulating Indonesia’s business licensing system. The findings indicate that the implementation of GR 5/2021 encountered significant challenges, including systemic fragmentation, poor inter-agency coordination, and limited legal certainty. GR 28/2025 introduces key reforms such as the full integration of the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, the implementation of a strict Service Level Agreement (SLA), and the expansion of regulated business sectors. These reforms mark a strategic step toward a more transparent, responsive, and integrated business licensing regime in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of the Madinatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in increasing the number of new students through the use of the TikTok app in Betung Village, Ogan Ilir. In today's digital era, social media has become a crucial tool for expanding the reach of information and promotion, including for Islamic educational institutions. This study employed qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation with informants including the boarding school leadership, teachers, social media administrators, and students at the Madinatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School. The results indicate that the Islamic boarding school's marketing strategy through TikTok involves showcasing student activities, religious activities, memorization programs, and the religious and disciplined atmosphere of the boarding school. Content is creatively curated, taking TikTok trends into account, to attract the interest of the younger generation. Although the school does not yet have a dedicated promotional team, social media management is carried out collaboratively by administrators and students under the direction of the boarding school leadership. The success of this strategy is supported by the involvement of students, alumni, and community support, who actively disseminate positive information about the boarding school. The impact of this strategy is evident in the increased interest of prospective new students who learn about the boarding school through social media, particularly TikTok. Thus, the use of TikTok has proven to be an effective means of promoting the positive image of the Madinatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School while increasing the number of new students. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for other Islamic educational institutions in utilizing digital media as a creative and effective promotional strategy.

Abstract

This study, entitled "The Structure and Meaning of the Song Balasan Sang Qadli in the Annida Nirwana Group," aims to analyze the lyrical structure and meaning contained in the song. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a semiotic analysis method to examine the meaning of the lyrics based on Ferdinand de Saussure's theory. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the main subjects of the study being the composer of the song Balasan Sang Qadli and related parties in the Annida Nirwana group. The results show that the lyrical structure in this song has a pattern of repetition and religious diction that strengthens its spiritual message. The meaning of this song depicts a reflection of human life before God, regret for sin, and an invitation to improve oneself by approaching Allah SWT. The symbols used in the lyrics strengthen the religious and da'wah nuances in the song. In conclusion, the song Balasan Sang Qadli functions not only as entertainment, but also as a da'wah medium that conveys Islamic values ​​through modern qasidah music. This research is expected to contribute to the study of religious music and enrich understanding of the role of qasidah in Islamic da'wah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the promotional strategies implemented by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Sudirman Branch Office, Palembang, to attract Hajj Savings customers. Promotion is an important element in the marketing mix that serves to communicate products, increase public understanding, and encourage interest in becoming customers. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation of the bank and potential customers. The results show that BSI's promotional strategies include the use of digital media such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and the BSI Mobile application; conventional media in the form of brochures, banners, and billboards; personal promotion through direct education by Customer Service and Tellers; and public relations activities through religious events and outreach in the Muslim community. These promotional strategies have proven effective in increasing awareness and interest of potential customers, although there are still obstacles in the form of a lack of detailed information regarding the mechanisms and benefits of Hajj Savings compared to other savings. This study recommends that BSI further strengthen promotional content that is educational, informative, and interactive in order to increase appeal and expand the reach of potential customers in the future.
