Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the contribution of the Ngarot tradition in shaping student character through learning Social Sciences. Methodology:This research uses a qualitative approach with a naturalistic research design. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews and participant observation. Respondents in this study were selected based on variations in roles and involvement in the Ngarot tradition using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis will be carried out using the Miles and Huberman model. Main Findings: The integration of Ngarot traditions in social studies learning has succeeded in improving students' character by strengthening the values of mutual cooperation and local wisdom. The impacts include increased solidarity, cooperation and environmental awareness, as well as increased appreciation of cultural heritage. School support and collaboration between teachers, students and the community played a key role in the success of this program, while the school's social environment also experienced positive improvements. The results show the effectiveness of this approach in shaping student character and enriching students' character education experiences and social knowledge. The Ngarot tradition in Indonesia has similarities with local traditions in America (Barnraising) and also Ghana (Adinkra) which have the meaning of building and strengthening a sense of togetherness, mutual cooperation and character. Novelty/Originality of this study: The uniqueness of this research lies in exploring the integration of Ngarot traditions in social studies education, enriching student character formation through deep local values.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to find out whether there is a value of responsible character education in the Sibali-Sipatambak culture in the people of Batetannga Village, Binuang subdistrict, Polewali Mandar Regency, to find out what factors influence changes in the social characteristics of the Sibali-Sipatambak culture towards society. Methodology: This type of research is qualitative. The data source used is information originating from direct observation at the research location. Data collection was carried out using field research through centralized observation and interviews. Main Findings: The results of this research show that there is a value of responsible character education in the sibali-sipatambak culture in Batetannga Village. Sibali-sipatambak is mutual cooperation in Batetannga Village in lightening the workload based on the abilities and abilities of each individual, which is based on the principles of togetherness, cohesiveness, kinship and humanity are so deep in order to lighten the burden carried together. The factors that influence changes in the socio-cultural characteristics of Sibali-Sipatambak influenced by cultural factors, modern technology, the increasing economic needs of the community and increasingly difficult life challenges. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is that there is still little research that specifically explores the relationship between the value of responsible character education and the Sibali-Sipatambak culture in Batetannga, Binuang District Village, Polewali Mandar Regency. Therefore, there is a description of knowledge that needs to be filled in to understand how the values ​​of responsible character education are practiced in the Sibali-Sipatambak cultural context, as well as their impact on the formation of a society with environmental character.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the results of integrating local wisdom values of the Ammatoa indigenous community in social interactions in state high schools. Methodology: The research used is field research with a qualitative descriptive type. The approach used is a sociological approach. The data from this research comes from primary data and secondary data. The method uses observation, interviews and documentation, while the data collection techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Main Findings: Based on the research results, it shows that the process of inheriting the values of local wisdom of the Ammatoa indigenous community in state high schools is greatly influenced by the efforts of teachers to take advantage of conditions to gain the trust of students, in this case trust provides an example of attitudes towards students, so that it can become a conscious effort that aims to pass on the values of local wisdom of the Ammatoa indigenous people. The inherited values include Pammopporang, Sipakatau, Sipakainga, and Tallasa Kamase-mase. Novelty/Originality of this study: The main breakthrough of this article lies in the interdisciplinary approach used to integrate the local wisdom of the Ammatoa Indigenous community into the social studies education curriculum.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research is intended to determine the efforts made by the Panjalu community in preserving the Nyangku Traditional Ceremony and the participation of the Panjalu community in preserving the Nyangku Traditional Ceremony. Methodology: This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The population in this study were all communities involved in the Nyangku traditional ceremony. The data collection technique is interviews with community leaders, traditional leaders and traditional members. Data analysis uses a qualitative approach to identify patterns, themes and meanings that emerge from participant narratives. Main Findings: The results of the research show that there have been changes in the Nyangku Traditional Ceremony, namely way of dressing which is starting to have modern elements, the opening ceremony which begins with entertainment events and night market, well collaboration with the government level. Community participationefforts to preserve the ceremony includes financial participation the form of assistance from the government and alms from community, participatio property and from pre-implementation to completion, participation in skills by displaying various types of art. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research presents innovation by revealing how the Nyangku traditional ceremony in Panjalu District, Ciamis, West Java, can be contextually integrated into the social learning curriculum, creating a comprehensive learning experience and stimulating students' curiosity about local values and their history. Through this approach, this research presents a new perspective in utilizing local wisdom as a dynamic learning resource and contributes to the development of students' curious character in the context of formal education.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to determine the form of revitalization carried out by the Sumber community in maintaining and developing local culture in Sumber Village, as well as to determine the form of social capital as a form of encouragement for the community to revitalize local culture. Methodology: The research used in this research is qualitative with phenomenological methods. The populationthis research is all the Sumber Village community who are involved efforts to revitalize Rodat Dance. Data collection used this research interview sheets and documentation. Data analysis using content analysis, interviews and observation notes. Data collection carried out through in-depth interviews with community, dance artists, village government representatives. Main Findings: The results of the research are the revitalization process carried out by the Sumber community in reviving Rodat culture by forming new Rodat members, carrying out activities and discovering new characteristics of Rodat dance, introducing culture the younger generation, holding cultural festivals as first step revitalization. Efforts carry out local cultural revitalization activities in Sumber Village are seen based three basic elements of social capital, namely trust in preserving cultural heritage, building social networks to carry out cultural festival activities. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of applying local wisdom in social education creates promising new paradigm in understanding and overcoming social problems. By integrating local wisdom into the social education curriculum, this approach emphasizes relevance and depth students' understanding of the social reality around them. This is not just about providing information about social issues, but also exploring and utilizing existing local knowledge.
