The objective of JOCRISE as a scholarly bedrock of critical thinking in socio-economic issues and problems comprises abstraction derived from the ontological premise and mapped into the continuum of the socio-economic learning system by the ontological being and becoming of logical formalism. Analytical investigation subsists upon the premise of unity of knowledge as the primal ontology. This approach is further characterized by the objective criterion of simulating global wellbeing in the evolutionary learning metaverses driven in continuum of matter and mind interrelationship by the episteme of unity of knowledge. Being a multidisciplinary scholarly journal of a singular kind in academia, JOCRISE is open to the methodological moral inclusiveness study of diverse issues and problems of the socio-scientific domain. Among this entirety, as few are named here: Theory of critical realism Theory of unity of knowledge Application of the theory of critical realism to socio-economics Theory of social ontology and applications From ontology to epistemology and phenomenology pertaining to socio-scientific problems Theory of multidisciplinary wellbeing of moral inclusiveness in science Evolutionary learning behavior and inter-variate circular causation in simulating wellbeing Islamic methodological worldview of unity of knowledge Application of Islamization of knowledge in socio-economics Sustainability in respect of a comprehensive objective criterion of wellbeing Climate change by socio-economic transformation for the common good Poverty alleviation and socio-economic restructuring Consciousness in socio-scientific structures and choices Pervasively participatory socio-economic development

Abstract

All science is mirroring a Weltansicht, or worldview‒that is, a comprehensive framework through which individuals or cultures interpret and understand the world around them. Worldviews not only provide a broader context for interpreting the data, but also influence research directions, methodological preferences, and final conclusions. Economics is no exception to this phenomenon. This modest essay aims to open up the epistemological foundations of modern economics to closer scrutiny with a view to pinpointing the tacit assumptions, cultural or other biases, and preconceived notions operating beneath the surface of economic theories, models, methods, and approaches. In addition, this essay also explores the controversial idea of Islamic economics which its exponents say recognizes the interdependence between economic outcomes and ethical choices, and take into account the importance of aligning economic activities with universally accepted human values.

Abstract

On the over-encompassing cosmic meaning of the moral and material law of unity of knowledge between diverse entities, only recently, the hard sciences have opened to the study of the nature, logic, and implications of consciousness as the moral phenomenology of the order and scheme of the theory of knowledge, and of Being and Becoming in completeness of socio-scienti℀c inquiry. The highest echelons of the study of ontological investigation of Critical Realism of the Core of Science belongs to the study of moral phenomenology of the learning matter-material unified universe. On these substantive issues and the subtle studies that emanate, there are the following sparce ones.

Abstract

Sheikh al-Islam, Imam Abdul Hamid Al-Ghazali was born in 1058AD in the city of Tus, in Persia at that time. He died in the year 1111AD in this same city. The translator of the above-mentioned work writes: “Imam Abu-Hamid al-Ghazali is unquestionably the greatest theologian of Islam and one of its noblest and most original thinkers. He reproduced in his religious experience all the spiritual phases developed by Islam. It is therefore appropriate to inquire in this work and in many other ones that he has contributed to the pale of Islamic thought and worship (ibadah) as to what constitutes the centric focus of Islam regarding self and the world-system of Islamic belief and construction.

Abstract

JOCRISE is embarked upon a project of universal, even cosmic, significance. Rejecting the outdated, inaccurate and static understanding of reality which underlies mainstream economics, the Paradigm provides a new, accurate and dynamic understanding of our changing world. The new understanding is not reductionist and encompasses many subjects (including history, sociology, psychology, religion, environment, anthropology, technology and epistemology). The result is an ability to find solutions for major global problems (e.g., persistent poverty, depletion of resources and environmental depredation) which, at present, appear to be insoluble. The Paradigm’s potency is comparable to that of the Copernican Revolution which overthrew the concept of an Earth-centred universe and replaced it by a sun-centred one with consequences including today’s political democracy (i.e., the vote) as well as modern astronomy and rocketry. Just as the Revolution introduced a new methodology for astronomy, so the Paradigm introduces a new Methodology for economics which:- establishes that mainstream economics is founded upon fifty nine false, outdated, interconnected assumptions about reality reverses the false assumptions whereon the reversals (or opposites) are easily seen to be true and can therefore form the components of the new Economics with hugely beneficial consequences. The ‘Great Reset’ is a phrase describing the proposals of the World Economic Forum which will concentrate all economic power into the hands of the few rather than putting economic power into the hands of the many. The Paradigm has areas needing development (see Appendix Two). Readers are encouraged to make the development and so forward the progress of the Paradigm as a whole.

Abstract

Critical Realism (CR) is a philosophical approach to social science research, social action, and social change activism. It provides a framework for social scientists whose value commitments leads them to view the construction of social phenomenon in critical ways, which identify the often hidden oppressive elements in social structures. This understanding of a ‘new’ reality underlies the advocacy of change strategies, and the initiation of dialogue between members of disadvantaged and oppressed groups through the process of ‘morphogenesis’ This model of dialogues enabling change and the ‘unmasking of alienation’ stem from the work of Roy Bhaskar, and has been developed by Margaret Archer and other European scholars. An important feature of CR has been the application by the emergence of shared understanding, by social scientists from different value traditions (e.g. Christianity, Secular Humanism, and Islam). The JOCRISE in taking CR understandings of oppressive social forces into new fields, and with fresh CR models, is welcomed. In appraising the new model from JOCRISE, we offer both Cartesian dualism, and Popper’s World 3 model as elements of a new, dynamic focus on social change advocacy.

Abstract

Martin Luther King Jr. was — and still is — one of the most powerful symbols in U.S. history. His message of anti-racism along with the exposing of government corruption are just part of the impact he made on the American people. While these are the more noble and respectable of his works, there exist other areas in which Dr. King erred in his judgement. The topic to which this paper will be devoted to will be the erroneous beliefs that Dr. King advocated regarding the failures of capitalism and the push for a more democratic socialist type of economic system. It is important that readers of this work not subject themselves to the fallacy of argumentum ad verecundium — the mistake of assuming that because Dr. King was an expert in one area (civil rights), he is therefore an expert in another (economics).

Abstract

This research delves into the intricate aspects of methodology, presenting a series of procedural steps utilized in empirical research titled "Wellbeing Methodology: A Comprehensive Approach to Evaluating Public Contentment Regarding Municipal Services in Bau Bau City, Southeast Sulawesi, 2023." Within this study, we employ the Wellbeing Methodology (WM), tailored to scrutinize public concerns and governmental policies, specifically concentrating on appraising public satisfaction with the services delivered by the municipal administration in Bau Bau City, Southeast Sulawesi, during the year 2023. WM offers a holistic framework that assesses diverse dimensions of public welfare, with a primary focus on the elements of Perception, Participation, and Acceptance (PPA). We have collected data, including respondent identification, PPA evaluation scores, and community input, which are presented in visual formats such as graphs and diagrams. This study aims to explore residents' satisfaction levels regarding various government services and assess the significance of the Perception, Participation, and Acceptance (PPA) variables in shaping overall societal well-being, referred to as the "Index of Public Well-being". It addresses crucial research inquiries, bridges existing research gaps, and also solicits community feedback in the form of suggestions, recommendations, and critiques to pinpoint areas ripe for improvement. The collected data will be leveraged to construct a Public Satisfaction Index, facilitating comparisons and discussions across diverse population segments. The data will undergo specific modes of analysis The data scores reveal a final score of 7.26 out of 9.0, indicating a highly positive interpretation. A total of 21 evaluation points were considered, all of which fall within the significant range. However, it's noteworthy that approximately 8% of respondents provided lower scores (ranging from 1 to 4), warranting further investigation. Additionally, this research endeavours to formulate a sustainability plan to ensure the continuous enhancement of community well-being. Through rigorous data analysis and widespread dissemination, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of public sentiment and the effectiveness of local government services, ultimately fostering improvements in governance and public welfare.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present a comprehensive and workable answer for addressing the socio-ecological crises that result from the severely flawed socio-economic system that is the capitalist world system to date. It presents a fundamental first step towards correcting this system, by addressing and correcting the monetary system whereupon a global kleptocracy has been constructed. At this point, there are no more excuses for social scientists, politicians, and regulatory agencies to hide in ivory towers. Conclusively, the feasible possibility for a pro-social, pro-ecological, and pro-economical financial system is presented here

Abstract

The development of sharia-based products in Indonesia have been increasingly rife, one of the most growing is rahn/Islamic pawn. Basically, a pawn contract is a type of tabarru’/voluntary contract which does not generate profit, however there are many Islamic financial institutions that offer pawn products especially gold pawn product. This research aims to analyze the comparison between the AAOIFI and DSN-MUI in the provisions regarding gold pawn contract. This research is a type of literature study using descriptive qualitative approach. The finding of research is that there are similarities and differences between both AAOIFI and DSN-MUI in the provisions regarding gold pawn contract. The most salient difference is that the Fatwa of DSN-MUI allows the Islamic financial institutions as the mortgagee to charge to the mortgagor some fees for safekeeping and maintenance of the mortgaged asset through ijarah contract, which make the gold pawn contract become profitable for the mortgagee. Unlike in the AAOIFI Shariah Standard which does not give the mortgagee a chance to obtain profit from this contract.
