Abstract

This study analyzes the use of nonverbal signals among English Education students at Tomakaka University, Mamuju, in academic settings. The research aims to describe how students employ nonverbal cues during classroom interactions to demonstrate engagement and facilitate communication. A total of 30 students participated as research subjects. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were obtained through video recordings, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews. Content analysis was applied to identify and categorize nonverbal behaviors, with attention to eye contact, gestures, posture, and facial expressions. The results show that students actively used eye contact, hand gestures, posture shifts, and facial expressions as integral components of their communicative practices. These nonverbal behaviors contributed to clearer interaction patterns and supported student participation in the learning process. The study highlights the significance of nonverbal communication in academic contexts and suggests that understanding these cues can assist educators in developing more effective instructional strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial performance of savings and loan cooperatives through a review of ten journals that review liquidity ratios, solvency, profitability, operational efficiency, and quality of cooperative governance. The method used is a literature study by combining analysis of scientific journals and online supporting data, so as to provide a comprehensive picture of the financial stability of the cooperative. The results of the study show that most cooperatives face problems of low liquidity, high dependence on debt, weak profitability, and suboptimal operational efficiency. Some cooperatives are even in the bankruptcy-prone zone based on the Altman Z-Score assessment. On the other hand, cooperatives that consistently apply financial statement analysis, have strong own capital, and implement good governance and transparency are proven to have more stable performance and higher levels of member participation. These findings confirm that improving the quality of accounting human resources, optimizing the use of information technology, discipline of financial ratio analysis, and strengthening risk management are urgent needs to maintain the sustainability of savings and loan cooperatives in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explains how injustice becomes a trigger of the characters’ significance quest in the film Freaky Tales (2024). Using a qualitative method, this study helps the readers understand the context of the characters’ experiences and struggles in the film. Injustice in the film is presented through acts of oppression, intimidation, and unequal power that threaten the characters’ sense of safety and dignity. The analysis focuses on how the characters respond to injustice as a motivation to protect their identity, group, and personal meaning. These experiences of injustice encourage the characters to seek control, recognition, and a sense of significance. In conclusion, this study confirms that injustice plays an important role in shaping the characters’ actions and becomes a central trigger of their significance quest in Freaky Tales (2024).

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in the teaching and learning process at SMK Tiwikrama Mamuju. The research employed a qualitative design to gain an in-depth understanding of how the approach is applied in classroom practice and how it influences students’ engagement and learning experiences. The population of this study consisted of 30 second-grade students of SMK Tiwikrama Mamuju. Since the total number of students was relatively small, total sampling was applied, resulting in 30 students serving as the research sample. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with students and teachers, and documentation review of lesson plans and learning materials. The observation focused on instructional strategies, student participation, and learning interactions. Interviews were conducted to obtain detailed insights into students’ perceptions and teachers’ experiences in implementing the Deep Learning approach. Documentation was used to support and validate findings from observations and interviews. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis following the interactive model of Huberman and Miles, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Deep Learning approach encouraged active student participation, critical thinking, collaborative learning, and deeper conceptual understanding. Students demonstrated increased motivation and engagement during the learning process. However, challenges were identified, including limited instructional time and the need for teacher readiness in designing higher-order learning activities. Overall, the Deep Learning approach contributed positively to improving the quality of the teaching and learning process at SMK Tiwikrama Mamuju.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of training and coaching programs from a Human Resource Management (HRM) perspective in educational institutions. The research was conducted among junior high school teachers (SMPN) in Mamuju Regency, involving a total population of 125 teachers. Using purposive sampling, 50 teachers who had participated in training and coaching programs were selected as research participants. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of competency-based training and coaching programs contributes significantly to improving teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies. Teachers reported positive changes in instructional planning, classroom management, and the integration of learning technologies. From an HRM perspective, the programs functioned as strategic tools for professional development, performance enhancement, and capacity building. Supporting factors included institutional commitment, leadership support, and collaborative work culture, while constraints involved limited time allocation and workload pressures. The study concludes that structured training and continuous coaching serve as effective HRM strategies in enhancing teacher performance within educational institutions. The findings provide practical implications for policymakers and school management in designing sustainable professional development programs.

Abstract

This study examines how loyalty represents devotion as displayed by the characters in Robert Eggers' film Nosferatu (2024). The research background is based on the understanding that devotion is a form of emotional commitment and deep values ​​that motivate individuals to maintain loyalty, even when faced with threats or moral conflict. The main focus of this study is to analyze how the actions, dialogue, and decisions of the main characters demonstrate loyalty as a manifestation of devotion rooted in the characters' psychology. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through film analysis. Data were collected using a note-taking method, namely watching the film Nosferatu (2024), noting scenes and dialogues relevant to the themes of loyalty and devotion, and identifying the conflicts and psychological motivations that arise in the characters. The analysis was carried out by interpreting the characters' actions based on the emotional context and the values ​​they consider important. The results of the analysis show that the characters in the film maintain loyalty to their loved ones or the values ​​they uphold, despite having to face inner dilemmas and threatening situations. This finding confirms that loyalty in this film functions as a reflection of complex devotion, influenced by feelings of love, moral responsibility, and values ​​considered irreplaceable.

Abstract

Kurangnya antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris masih menjadi permasalahan yang perlu ditangani dengan strategi inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan antusiasme belajar siswa melalui pemanfaatan media digital interaktif pada materi Bahasa Inggris di kelas XI.7 SMAN Model Terpadu Madani Palu. Penelitian menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada Siklus I hanya 56% siswa yang aktif berdasarkan observasi dan 68% berdasarkan angket, sedangkan pada Siklus II persentase siswa aktif meningkat menjadi 84% berdasarkan observasi dan 96% berdasarkan angket. Peningkatan ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan Kahoot, Baamboozle, dan Padlet sebagai media pembelajaran mampu membangkitkan motivasi, menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, serta meningkatkan partisipasi siswa. Pembahasan mengaitkan hasil tersebut dengan teori motivasi belajar dan multimedia learning, yang menunjukkan bahwa variasi media digital efektif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media digital interaktif dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan antusiasme belajar, sekaligus relevan dengan tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya guru secara konsisten mengintegrasikan media digital dalam pembelajaran agar siswa lebih aktif, termotivasi, dan siap menghadapi tantangan pendidikan modern.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas pembelajaran kosakata harian berbasis QR Code dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa di SMAN 1 Polewali. Pendekatan eksperimental kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan memanfaatkan desain tes awal dan tes akhir pada satu kelompok. Sebanyak 34 siswa kelas sebelas berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Kemampuan berbicara dievaluasi melalui rubrik berbicara analitis yang mencakup lima komponen, yaitu pelafalan, kosakata, tata bahasa, kelancaran, dan pemahaman. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan Uji Rangking Bertanda Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbicara siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan setelah penerapan pembelajaran berbasis QR Code. Skor rata-rata yang diperoleh pada tes awal adalah 61,21, yang menunjukkan kemampuan berbicara awal yang relatif rendah, kemudian meningkat menjadi 82,14 pada tes akhir setelah perlakuan diberikan. Kata Kunci: QR, Kosakata, Berbicara Abstract This research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of QR Code-based daily vocabulary learning in enhancing students' speaking abilities at SMAN 1 Polewali. A quantitative experimental approach was employed, utilizing a single-group pre-test and post-test design. A total of 34 eleventh-grade students participated in this study. Speaking proficiency was evaluated through an analytic speaking rubric encompassing five components: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results demonstrated that students' speaking abilities improved markedly after the application of QR Code-based learning. The mean score obtained in the pre-test was 61.21, indicating relatively low initial speaking proficiency, which subsequently increased to 82.14 in the post-test following the treatment. Additionally, the percentage of students achieving the minimum speaking proficiency criterion (≥80) rose dramatically from 20% during the pre-test to roughly 90% during the post-test. A statistically significant difference was found between pre-test and post-test scores based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis (p < 0.05). These results demonstrate that QR Code-based daily vocabulary learning is effective in developing students' speaking skills and can be regarded as a practical teaching method in EFL classrooms. Abstract

Sistem pendeteksi dan monitoring tingkat kekeruhan air merupakan salah satu inovasi teknologi yang berfungsi untuk mengetahui kondisi kejernihan air secara otomatis. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan Arduino Uno sebagai mikrokontroler utama yang mengolah data dari sensor turbidity. Sensor ini bekerja dengan prinsip deteksi cahaya yang menembus air; semakin keruh air maka semakin sedikit cahaya yang diterima oleh sensor, sehingga nilai tegangan yang terbaca semakin tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun alat pendeteksi tingkat kekeruhan air pada akuarium yang dapat menampilkan hasil pengukuran secara real-time melalui Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) 16x2. Sistem ini dikategorikan ke dalam tiga kondisi yaitu “Air Jernih”, “Air Keruh”, dan “Sangat Keruh” berdasarkan hasil kalibrasi sensor. Proses perancangan sistem meliputi tahap perancangan perangkat keras yang terdiri dari Arduino Uno, sensor turbidity, buzzer, dan LCD, serta perancangan perangkat lunak menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Arduino IDE. Dari hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan, sistem mampu mendeteksi perubahan tingkat kekeruhan air dengan baik. Nilai sensor yang terbaca akan ditampilkan pada LCD beserta status kondisi air sesuai dengan tingkat kejernihan. Dengan adanya sistem ini, pengguna dapat mengetahui kondisi air akuarium tanpa perlu melakukan pengamatan manual sehingga dapat membantu menjaga kualitas air dan kesehatan ikan di dalamnya.

Abstract

Periode 2023 hingga 2025 menandai titik balik kritis dalam ekosistem pendidikan tinggi, di mana kecerdasan buatan (AI) bertransformasi dari sekadar objek kajian akademik menjadi infrastruktur pembelajaran yang melekat dalam keseharian sivitas akademika. Studi ini menyajikan tinjauan sistematis berprotokol PRISMA yang mensintesis 47 sumber primer, mencakup survei UNESCO, meta-analisis jurnal terindeks Scopus dan Web of Science, serta data empiris dari perguruan tinggi Indonesia. Tujuan utamanya adalah mendekonstruksi realitas adopsi AI melampaui statistik permukaan, menuju pemahaman mendalam tentang dinamika pedagogis dan tata kelola institusi. Temuan mengonfirmasi lonjakan adopsi AI di kalangan mahasiswa dari 27% (2023) menjadi 92% (2025), dengan dampak positif terukur pada capaian kognitif (effect size d=0,94). Namun, terdapat paradoks kebijakan yang mengkhawatirkan: hanya 19% institusi secara global dan sekitar 20% dari 15 universitas terkemuka di Indonesia yang memiliki regulasi AI formal. Situasi ini semakin kompleks akibat persaingan intensif antara model LLM open source dan closed source yang mereduksi relevansi regulasi berbasis nama alat. Merespons kesenjangan tersebut, penelitian ini mengartikulasikan Kerangka PAIR (Policy–Access–Integrity–Readiness) sebagai panduan strategis untuk mewujudkan adopsi AI yang bertanggung jawab dan kontekstual dalam pendidikan tinggi Indonesia.
