Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of empty fruit bunches (efb) compost, Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB), lime and various of P fertilizer in order to increase of P availability and P uptake in the main nursery oil palm seedlings in latosols. The experiment was conducted by using a factorial design, arranged in a completely randomized design. The first factor was the application of efb compost: without efb compost, efb compost, PSB and lime. The second factor was the various of P fertilizer: SP-36, RP, guano and (NPKMg + dolomit) as a control. The results showed that guano fertilizer in various combinations has the highest role in increasing the availability of P in the soil. The highest levels of P leaves and P stems are produced by administration of guano fertilizer in various combinations. P uptake of leaf showed almost the same value in all combinations of treatments except the combination treatment of inorganic fertilizers with PSB produced the lowest value. The highest uptake of P-stem was shown by giving efb compost combined with guano or SP36 fertilizer or inorganic fertilizer. While the lowest P content and P-uptake of the stem is indicated by inorganic fertilizer treatment. The highest growth of palm oil seedlings is produced by a combination of efb compost with all types of P fertilizers or inorganic fertilizers. Provision of PSB with inorganic fertilizer resulted in the lowest growth of oil palm seedlings. Keywords: P uptake, P available, main nursery, efb compost, latosol.

Abstract

Necessary of soybeans are increased with population growth and the food processing industry. However, land competition is heavier for development of soybean plants in Gunungkidul Regency. Soybean cultivation under the auspices of eucalyptus plants has a potential to overcome these problems. This study aim is to determine the potential for developing soybeans in the eucalyptus forest area of Gunungkidul Regency. This research is a combination of specific condition of soybean development in the eucalyptus forest area and review of research result. The result showed that soybeans under eucalyptus stands have the potential to be developed. Dena 1 and 2 superior soybean varieties are shade resistant varieties that can be cultivated under the stands of eucalyptus plants. Besides superior shade resistant varieties, technology components of soybean cultivation in eucalyptus forests include seeds, plant populations, control of plant pests, land preparation, fertilization, irrigation and harvesting. Abstract

Cocoa is a leading commodity in the Special Region of Yogyakarta that needs to be developed. In Nglanggeran, Patuk, Gunungkidul, stands the Agricultural Technology Park (ATP) based on cocoa comodities that needs to be supported by postharvest technology studies including packaging and storage of cocoa beans to be able to produce quality and safe processed chocolate. The purpose of this study is to find out added value of cocoa beans with and without the addition of Lactobacillus plantarum HL 15 starter and packaging during storage. This research was conducted in January - December 2018 in the Ngudi Raharjo II Farmer Group, Plosokerep, Patuk, Gunung Kidul. The experimental design used was factorial completely randomized design 2 replications, with the first factor being the type of fermented cocoa beans (B), consisting of: fermented cocoa beans with starter L. plantarum HL. 15 (B1) and fermented cocoa beans by farmers (without starter) (B2) and the second factor type of packaging (K), consisting of: PP plastic in vacuum (K1), PP plastic without vacuum (K2) Plastic container (K3), PP plastic + vacuum + plastic container (K4). Nylon sack (farmer control) (K5). The result is an increase in added value from the highest to the lowest is IDR 2,675/kg (K4B1), IDR 2,375/kg (K2B1), IDR 2,025/kg (K1B1), IDR 1,725 /kg (K3B1), IDR 1,350/kg (K3B2) , Rp. 1,100 /kg (K2B2) and (K1B2), Rp. 1,050/kg (K2B2), Rp. 475/kg (K5B1), and Rp. 100/kg (K5B2). Abstract

Utilization of tidal land as a medium for growing soybean plants is facing several obstacles such as high soil acidity and low soil fertility. Therefore, we need soybean varieties that are able to grow and produce well on the land—tolerant to other threatening factors. This study aims to find the best soybean variety on tidal land type C. The research method used is a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with 6 The treatments are, A (Burangrang variety), B (Anjasmoro variety), C (Argomulyo variety), D (Dena variety 1), E (Gema variety) and F (Ring 1 variety). The treatments were repeated 4 times each, thus there were 24 experimental units in total. The results revealed that the Anjasmoro variety gives higher yields than the Burangrang, Argomulyo, Ring 1, Dena 1, and Gema varieties, and has the potential to grow well in type C tidal land. Abstract

The aims of this research is to determine the effect of the comparison of the composition of the planting media on the growth and yield of three varieties of cabai rawit (Capsicum annuum L). This research was conducted in Maguwoharjo Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. The research was conducted from March to June 2019 using refusal soil and manure. This study used a factorial method, which was arranged in a completely randomizing design (RAL) with 2 factors. The first factor is the ratio of the composition of the planting medium (manure: soil) with a level of 1: 1, 1: 3, 3: 1, and control. The second factor is the varieties of cabai rawit such us Dian F1, Sret and Sigantung. The results showed that there was no interaction between the comparison of the composition of the planting medium and three varieties of cabai rawit on each parameter, but had a significant effect on several parameters. Comparison of the composition of the planting medium has a significant effect on the growth and yield. Planting medium, that contain manure: soil (1:1) had a significant effect on the parameters of the number of fruits and the weight of the fruit, while the 1: 3 ratio of the planting medium had a significant effect on the parameters of the fresh root weight and the root length. Dian-F1 variety showed the best growth response and yield. Keyword : planting medium, manure, growth, yield, cabai rawit

Abstract

Goat's milk has a complete nutritional content, but so far it has not been favored because of goaty flavor which comes from short and medium chain fatty acids such as caproic acid, caprylic acid and capric acid. Processing milk into fermented milk like kefir is one method of processing milk that is useful to increase the nutritional value of milk and eliminate goaty flavor. The aim of this study is to know the effect of the use of kefir granule and sucrose levels on the sensory properties of PE goat’s milk kefir. The ingredients used are PE goat's milk, kefir granules, sucrose, aquadest. The Completely Randomized Design with six treatments is used in this study. Organoleptic test were using a hedonic scale. The treatments were arranged as follows: A1B1 (5% kefir granules 5%, 0% sucrose); A1B2 (5% kefir granules, 5% sucrose); A1B3 (5% kefir granules, 10% sucrose); A2B1 (10% kefir granules, 0% sucrose; A2B2 (10% kefir granules, 5% sucrose) and A2B3 (10% kefir granules, 10% sucrose). The results of this study indicate that the treatment of kefir granules (5 and 10%) and sucrose (0.5, and 10%) have a significant effect on aroma, thickness, taste and overall acceptance, but not significantly different of color. Abstract

Fertilization in oil palm nurseries is a required activity to support plant growth. The use of organic fertilizers can be an alternative to reduce the operational costs on oil palm nurseries. This study aims to determine the ef ect of the application of liquid organic fertilizer (tofu liquid waste) and cow manure on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery. The research was conducted at the Educational and Research Garden (KP2) of the STIPER Yogyakarta Agricultural Institute, which is in Maguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors was used as experimental method in this research. The first factor was the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (tofu liquid waste) which consists of 4 levels: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%. The second factor was the dose of cow manure consisting of 4 levels: 0 g, 100 g, 200 g, 300 g. The results were analyzed by Analysis of Variance and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test, both with significance level of 5%, to find out the dif erences among treatments. The results showed that there was no significant interaction between the treatment of tofu liquid waste concentration and the dose of cow manure on all observed parameters. However, there was still a tendency that the concentration of tofu liquid waste 50% and the dose of cow manure 100 g was the best combination in all parameters. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan diskripsi karakteristik dari distribusi pola-pola penggunaan lahan (land use) dengan model agroforestri di Gunung Merapi. Hasil menunjukkan pola yang paling banyak dipraktekkan oleh masyarakat adalah ‘tegalan’ dengan pola-pola lainnya dengan prosentasi yang kecil. Identifikasi dari kepadatan secara ekologi adalah 300m/Ha berdasarkan data spasial. Dengan SDI berdasarkan groundcheck adalah 2.52. Analisis bentuk- bentuk pola penggunaan lahan yang menggunakan model agroforestry dibasiskan pada fungsi ekologi dan keuntungan ekonomi. Kondisi penggunaan lahan yang optimal yang dilihat dari tutupan lahan dengan sifat tersebar dan tegalan adalah model agroforestry yang paling banyak dipraktekkan oleh masyarakat lereng Gunung Merapi.
