Abstract

This study examines Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in Indonesia and their role in strengthening local democracy and national defense. The objective is to analyze their impact on political stability, social cohesion, and national security. A qualitative literature review method was used by analyzing relevant sources on elections, democracy, and national resilience. The findings show that simultaneous regional elections enhance democratic processes, transparency, accountability, and good governance at the local level. However, challenges such as political tensions, social polarization, and potential conflicts may threaten stability. The study concludes that simultaneous regional elections contribute to national defense by supporting a stable and accountable governance system. Continuous political education and strict oversight are needed to ensure their effectiveness in strengthening Indonesia’s national resilience.

Abstract

Good corporate governance (GCG) has focused heavily on adherence to formal principles such as transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness (TARIF). However, in practice, the application of these principles has not been fully effective in preventing managerial misconduct in various organizations. This article aims to examine the transformation of the GCG paradigm from a compliance-based governance approach to trustbased governance through the integration of managerial accountability and organizational integrity. The underlying phenomenon of this study is the continued prevalence of abuse of authority, moral hazard, and weak internalization of integrity values, despite the formal implementation of TARIF principles. This situation indicates a gap between procedural compliance and organizational ethical practices. This study uses a conceptual approach by reviewing the literature related to accountability, organizational integrity, and trust theory in governance. The results of the study indicate that trust-based governance can complement and strengthen TARIF principles, emphasizing interpersonal relationships, organizational culture, and the internalization of integrity values as a non-formal control mechanism. The integration of managerial accountability and organizational integrity enables the formation of a governance system that is not only procedurally compliant but also substantively ethical. The main contribution of this article is the development of a conceptual model of trust-based governance that goes beyond the traditional GCG approach. This model is expected to serve as a new framework for strengthening the effectiveness of corporate governance in the era of modern organizational complexity.

Abstract

Self-privacy on social media is an important aspect that every individual should protect. For university students who interact with diverse social groups, maintaining personal privacy can be achieved through various strategies, one of which is the use of a second Instagram account. This study aims to describe how university students in Palu City manage their self-privacy through the use of second Instagram accounts. The study employed a qualitative research design using a case study approach. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification techniques. The findings reveal that the use of second Instagram accounts helps students maintain their personal privacy while still expressing their authentic identities. Students manage their privacy by limiting the number of followers on their second accounts and sharing personal experiences or emotions that may not align with social expectations after carefully filtering the content. In addition, second Instagram accounts serve as a means of supporting or clarifying information posted on their primary accounts, particularly when facing negative comments from other users, by allowing students to respond or provide clarification through the second account. Furthermore, the use of second Instagram accounts provides students with a space for self-reflection on their posts, encouraging them to develop more thoughtful and responsible online behavior.
