Abstract

This study examines human resource (HR)  strategies in managing the phenomenon of quiet quitting among millennial employees in Jakarta's digital startups. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 millennial employees, 5 HR managers, 2 startup founders, and analysis of policy documents. Findings reveal that quiet quitting stems from an imbalance between high job demands (hustle culture) and insufficient psychological support, including a lack of recognition and one-way feedback systems. Effective HR strategies involve flexible policies (hybrid work, job crafting), well-being programs, and cultural adaptation based on local collectivist values. The study underscores the importance of human-centered HR approaches that integrate global flexibility with sensitivity to Jakarta’s socio-cultural context. Practical implications recommend integrating mental well-being indicators into performance evaluations and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration to build a sustainable work ecosystem.

Abstract

This study examines the marketing strategies of virtual influencers in Indonesia, focusing on Generation Z’s perceptions in Jakarta. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach (in-depth interviews and FGDs with 25 participants), the research reveals consumer ambivalence: while virtual influencers like Kyra and Thalasya AI attract through futuristic aesthetics and local cultural integration, skepticism about authenticity and ethical concerns over deepfake risks persist. Findings indicate that Generation Z prefers human influencers for personal-value products but appreciates virtual influencers in image-driven categories (fashion/technology). Practical implications emphasize the need for content transparency (AI-generated labels) and glocal strategies that blend technology with socio-religious values. The study recommends ethical regulations to balance digital marketing innovation with consumer protection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) implementation in human resource decision-making, particularly in the employee selection stage in Makassar City. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research explores the perceptions of HR practitioners and candidates regarding potential algorithmic bias in CV screening and virtual interviews. The findings reveal that while AI improves efficiency, it may also pose risks of hidden discrimination due to historical data bias and rigid system parameters. This study highlights the importance of balancing technological tools with human judgment to ensure a fair, inclusive, and ethical selection process. The results contribute theoretically to the discourse on algorithmic fairness and offer practical implications for organizations adopting AI in HR management.
