Conference on Community Engagement Project -Community service is one of pillars in Three Pillars of Higher Education. Community service is the implementation of practice of science, technology, and arts to the society institutionally through research methodology as the implementation of Three Pillars of Higher Education and responsibility to improve the ability of society. Therefore, it can accelerate the growth rate of the national development goals. To support the practice of community service, UIB Research and Community Service Center organize a Conference on Community Engagement Project (ConCEPt) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas universities. This conference is expected to significantly spread impact the results of community service that are directly implemented to society and spread information about science, technology, and arts to society.

Abstract

Bimble Rumah Cerdas is a business engaged in the service sector which located at Kavling Sagulung Lama Gang Salak Blok A No 4 Batam. Bimble Rumah Cerdas is facing problems in financial recording which is only done manually, and does not present a financial report. Based on these problems, the solution to help the business owner is to design a simple accounting system and produce a reliable financial report. This system is designed using Microsoft Access according to business needs. The resulting financial statements are in the form of income report, expense report, changes on equity statements, income statements, financial position reports. The accounting system is also able to produce accounting information that helps owner to make the right decisions so that the business can develop for the better business. The system designed by the author is still relatively simple and can still be improved, so recommendations for future researchers are expected to be able to update the accounting system in accordance with the times that will occur in the future.

Abstract

The growth of internet users can assist a business in conducting online marketing which is useful for business owners to interact and quickly provide the latest promotional information to consumers. One form of online marketing through social media is Instagram. Instagram is used for business owners to introduce their products. One business that uses Instagram as online marketing is a bakery. Instagram can be a place for a baker to show his product and increase awareness among his consumers and can be used for business development, thereby facilitating the development of MSMEs in this digitalization era.

Abstract

CV Semboyan Nafiri Indonesia is a Batam-based SMEs still utilize conventional bookkeeping processes. It resulted in inaccurate information being represented. Therefore the community service dedicated to this SMEs aims to build a database and bookkeeping system using Microsoft Access. Then, the system can be used to provide accurate representation of the business condition. Author conducted interviews and observation to map the needs and information about the business. The output generated from the bookkeeping system would be transactional forms, profit-loss statement, balance sheet, cash report and stock report. The output would guide the owner to keep track of inventory, monitor both expenses and revenue.

Abstract

The aim of this project is to provide an accurate, systematic, and reliable accounting recording system according to the needs of Toko Pasti Jaya. Toko Pasti Jaya is an individual business unit with an MSME scale (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the retail trade sector of basic commodities. The store's accounting records are still carried out using a simple bookkeeping method without an adequate and organized accounting system. In addition, the related business also does not design an efficient and effective internal control system. The implementation phase of the project is carried out by analyzing the needs of the internal control system and accounting records of business through interviews and observations. The design of databases and programs with Microsoft Access is done according to the necessities of owner. The output of the implementation phase is the presentation of a user-friendly accounting program for partners. This project contributes to designing a platform that can support the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations in accordance with the vision, mission and business objectives of Pasti Jaya Store.

Abstract

New Mart Minimarket is a business owned by Mr. Yoki Liberty which was founded on October 12 2018 and is located in the Nusa Jaya Complex Block A No. 26,27,28 Sungai Panas, Batam city. This business is engaged in retail, which sells various kinds of daily needs. The purpose of this practical work is to assist MSMEs in implementing work procedures according to company operational standards. The data collection technique used was conducting interviews and observations. The result is the application of appropriate standard operating procedures, company profiles, organizational structures, job descriptions by preparing reports and explaining to employees regarding all material so that it can assist owners in improving and maintaining the good name of the company, increasing accountability such that employees work according to their respective duties and responsibilities.

Abstract

Curry Up is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) engaged in culinary tourism. Curry Up is located at the YKB D.16 complex with 8 employees. Curry Up is a family-run business that has been established since 2017. Curry Up sells Luti Gendang and curry puff food, which are typical Riau Islands or Malay food. This traditional food is still rarely known by people in the city of Batam. Therefore, with this business, luti gendang food and also curry puff can be known to all Indonesian people because every region has different food and tastes. Therefore, with social media such as Instagram and Facebook, all people know about luti gendang food. and curry puff is a typical Malay food, especially in Batam and can be souvenirs for traveling and is a culinary tourism destination for residents of Batam City or outside Batam. The data collection carried out in this activity is to collect primary data. The primary data collected was sourced from interviews conducted by the author. Interviews conducted by the author to Curry Up customers. The questions asked in the interview were related to Luti Gendang which is a Core Product from Curry Up.

Abstract

Agu Dump Trucks Rental Services has been established since 1990 but because of the lack of system that record transactions accurately, the business is hard to produce report that inform the financial condition of business and making difficulties to owners to make decisions in developing their business. The financial record system owned by Agu Dump Trucks Rental Services is still traditionally manual that causing slow data processing and ineffective preparation of financial reports. The method used in the implementation of this practical work is using primary data sources, where the data needed is directly obtained from related parties. The output result of the implementation of an accounting recording system are statement of financial position, income statement, statement of changes in capital, report on purchases and sales, and report on remaining debts and receivables. The recommendation for future student creativity program is to find the needed place which we can implement for good and correct accounting recording procedures.

Abstract

Toko Bangunan Jaya Indah has been operating for approximately 27 years. However, their accounting bookkeeping activities still apply manual recording, which can cause the business owners to be unable to know the business's financial condition. This community service aims to generate an accounting bookkeeping software system through Microsoft Office Access to provide accurate financial reports. In collecting information, we use the method of observation and interview. In addition, we use evidence of transactions based on business operations as our reference to generate bookkeeping software. The output of this accounting software system included a purchase form, sales form, profit and loss report, and balance sheet. The output would guide SMEs to make a better decision making in monitoring their sales and expenses

Abstract

Internal planning and management are essential for MSMEs. Internal management problems at Espotam Moex are in the form of the absence of budget planning for raw materials for each month. The implementation of business running activities has not been carried out properly; in this case, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is not written to be known by employees, and sales records still use record keeping in the pocketbook, so it is not easy to know the sales every day or every month. This condition was known when visiting Espotam Moex by observing, interviewing store owners and supervisors, and carrying out a series of documentation as information in the design. The results of these activities are in the form of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in PDF and hardcopy form, raw material budget planning using Google Sheets, and sales recording forms in Microsoft Excel and hardcopy forms. Other than those, it is necessary to consistently update SOPs in quality improvement, and Espotam Moex can develop its business along with recording sales using the system in the future.

Abstract

Independent internship are programs designed to provide opportunities for hands-on learning in related industries. Through this internship program, it helps to increase mutually beneficial cooperation between industry and campuses. This program also helps open opportunities for students to see how the industry works during the independent internship period. These activities namely, reviewing financial statements and calculating the annual corporate income tax at PT Anugerah Manajemen Abadi. The independent internship takes place from August 2022-January 2023. Students during the independent internship period will also be involved in internal discussions and meetings related to the project to be carried out, as well as study the tax regulations/accounting standard used to complete the project. The methods used for independent internship program at PT Anugerah Manajemen Abadi include literature studies, observation, exploration, and problem solving. Students are given the opportunity by PT Anugerah Manajemen Abadi to review 15 client companies, handle several official report of clarification from the tax office, attend meetings with internal companies and online meeting with client company management to reviewing financial statements. The briefing on the activities carried out during the independent internship at PT Anugerah Manajemen Abadi is very useful in preparing students before deal with workplace. However, this program should be further developed and exposed so that students have wider opportunities to explore learning in the industry.
