Abstract

Dakwah in Islam is a divine task performed by each individual and collectively to its adherents. Dakwah has a goal to invite people to the path of goodness and instructions for obtaining happiness of the world and the hereafter. Practice dakwah that accompanied the business domination and cultural imperialism as did the puritans will only lead to dissociative interaction processes of intercultural, which leads to a clash of cultures, conflicts and contradictions. It is certainly far from ideal destination dakwah. Thus, the sociological aspect in the implementation of dakwah is also worth noting, that not only makes the community as an object, but also should pay attention to the community as a subject of dakwah. Which not only makes the community as an object, but also should pay attention to the community as a subject of dakwah. Side of the subjectivity of society is cultural identity. Implementation of dakwah should be accompanied by an understanding of the cultural differences that practiced by the community to find a third space that is dialogical in intercultural dakwah.

Abstract

Storytelling is the oldest art’s heritage that is now to be forgotten by a half of people. Though, storytelling need to be preserved and developed as one of good activity that can support social interests extensively. Storytelling is fun activity but people rarely do it. Society development and social changes seems effect on decreasing of storytelling activities, not only at home, schools, worship place, playground but also library.

Abstract

Womendomestification has basically occurred from centuries ago. The view that women are weak creatures becomes one of the justifications of domestication behavior towards women. Wadjda film is one of the films depicting the life of Saudi women living with patriarchal cultural pressures wrapped with the teachings of Islam as a means of domesticizing women to the outside world (public). Wadjda’s film is the work of the first Saudi female filmmaker, Haifaa Al Mansour who seeks to illustrate the life of Saudi women. This study uses a gender analysis by Dr. Mansour Fakih on the manifestations of gender inequality and framing analysis of Zongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki models. The results of the study indicate the occurrence of Saudi women’s domestication process which refers to the action of marginalization, stereotype, sub-ordination, double burden and polygamy. The contribution of this study is to give understanding to the women so that their awareness grow to fight for their public rights in order to get better treatment and to eliminate the negative views that have been attached to women.

Abstract

The society acceptance of da’wah by using Gorontalo in the Gorontalo community looks very good, this is evidenced by the implementation and enthusiasm of the community towards the delivery of preaching messages with Gorontalo language in every activity such as the delivery of religious services at weddings, Majelis Taklim, Halal bi Halal, Maulid Nabi, Isra Miraj ‘, the attainment of lectures at the holy month of Ramadan, and lectures at ta’aziah, as well as Friday sermons. Submitting da’wah in the form of local language is a very powerful method of preaching in providing religious understanding to the community. In addition, the Gorontalo language used by the da’i is a form of maintaining regional languages.

Abstract

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, created the complete universe and its contents, and created in a balanced, paired and interconnected relationship between one being and another. Of the creatures created by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, on this earth, the most utilizing the contents of this earth is human, because humans can benefit and plants and animals. Humans are given the power to eat from the kinds of animals and plants. But in reality, the universe continues to be damaged, both in the ocean and on the land. Then it affects the declining quality and quantity of the creatures that live on it. Da’i is a person who has the duty to preach and spread the teachings of Islam to all mankind. Da’wah submitted or spread in da’i should touch every line of human cases, including in it is the duty of every human being to maintain, care for and create a beautiful universe. The advantages and opportunities that da’I has to be optimized, especially with regard to efforts to maintain the beauty and harmony of the universe. The duties of da’i are not limited to delivering matters concerning worship of mahdhoh alone, but da’I also must convey about the obligation to maintain and care for the universe and maintain its balance. Da’I must also be a pioneer of the maintenance of the universe, at least da’I should pioneer in caring and maintaining the environment of the mosque, because the mosque is the house of the Muslim ummah, both for the implementation of Fardhu Prayer, as well as a means of musyawarah and gathering of the Muslims.

Abstract

The method of da’wah is one of the da’wah elements that should be considered by each dai. There are three da’wah methods in the Qur’an, namely the method of da’wah al-h}ikmah, al-mau’iz}ahal-h} asanah, and al-muja>dalah that must be applied simultaneously through various forms of da’wah. The management of the da’wah method has a major effect because it is also a determining factor in the success of da’wah. Kyai Abdul Ghofur is one of the dai who aplies the whole method of da’wah in the form of bil-lisa>n and bil-h}a>l da’wah according to the Nahdlatul Ulama tradition. His ability to analyze and manage the method of da’wah is very interesting to be studied because he is able to build a new logic in the middle of the community. This study aims to describe the method of da’wah carried out by Kyai Abdul Ghofur and describe the factors that influence the activities of the Kyai Abdul Ghofur’s da’wah to the people in Bulusan Hamlet, Bulu Village, Semen District, Kediri Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach by using three methods of the data collection: observation, interviews, and documentation. The researchers participate and follow actively in the da’wah activities of Kyai Abdul Ghofur. The informant in this study amounted to 21 people who were chosen based on their role and knowledge of the da’wah activities of Kyai Abdul Ghofur. The results of this qualitative study revealed that Kyai Abdul Ghofur applied the method of da’wah al-h}ikmah, al-mau’iz}ahal-h}asanah, and al-muja>dalah in the form of bil-lisa>n and bil-h}a>l da’wah, including: building the religious facilities and religious education; building the Islamic culture; provide solutions to the problems of society with kind words and strong arguments based on the Qur’an and Hadith; delivering the message of da’wah through words that are wise and easy to understand; and applying the variant of preaching to the community with different characteristics. the character and personality of Kyai Abdul Ghofur, the condition of the people who needs messages of da’wah and the message of da’wah that is easily understood are the factors that influence his da’wah activities.

Abstract

Digital painting are alternative media that show visual messages which element of da’wahput into the painting. With digital painting, we can share da’wah with the precious look. One of them is smudge art technic from Baju Seno that choose K.H. Anwar Manshur as an object. As we know that “Yai Anwar Manshur” is Caretaker of Lirboyo Kediri Boarding School. This research has goals to describes the signs that appear from smudge art digital painting and also to describe the meaning inside. The research use qualitative approach. The writer use analytical method with Charles Sanders Pierce Semiotic Theory. With use Semiotic Theory, any signs will prefers to “Yai Anwar Manshur”. And all of the verbal and nonverbal signs have to interpretate to be understood. The most important source of data is derived through the signs that appear on the smudge art digital painting of “Yai Anwar Manshur” and the previous research result on same themes, books, and also journals. There are signs that appear in smudge art digital painting “Yai Anwar Manshur” from Baju Seno. Start from nonverbal signs that appear on facial expressions, body expressions, and gestures of “Yai Anwar Manshur” as objects. And also visual signs as like design elements, for example lines or scratches effect of smudge tool, color, texture, and gradation that appear in smudge art digital painting “Yai Anwar Manshur”. The meaning or interpretation of nonverbal and visual signs that appear, are related with “Yai Anwar Manshur” as digital painting objects. In terms of attitude and personality, it is depicted in sign that appear on the smudg art digital painting by Baju Seno Hartyanto. Firm, disciplined, simple, and humble attitudes also personalities are the meanings that appear behind nonverbal and visual signs in digital painting. And form here the person or figure of “Yai Anwar Manshur” can be a motivation while encouraging everyone to be positive and be a better personality. The message can be a da’wah for the generations of Muslims around, through a visual work in the from of smudge art digital painting with objects “Yai Anwar Manshur” by Baju Seno Hartyanto.

Abstract

The obligation of da’wah for every Muslim individual is an undeniable reality in order to improve the religion of the religious community and change from a bad living condition to a better life based on daily behavior on the Al-Quran and Sunnah, ijma ‘and qiyas. The success or failure of da’wah depends on how the message is delivered by the da’wah communicator (da’i) on the receiver (mad’u). But now the da’wah is faced with the reality of cyber society, the cyber community which is also called the global community gave birth to a variety of new cultures because of the freedom of unlimited interaction through the internet. It is necessary to have a resolution from the proselytizing practitioners, meaning that a da’I is not only required to be a vocalist in conveying his message of preaching, but is also required to be creative and innovative so that cyber society as mad’u can still be interested in the da’wah packaging delivered. With literature study approach and also mass media communication theory, this article is present to offer a resolution of a proselytizing practitioner in addressing cyber society as his mad’u. In this paper in the language about the method of da’wah that is associated with the relevance of cyber society, namely the method of da’wah in general in the Qur’an as a resolution. In other words, da’wah bilhikmah in cyber society, mau’idzatul hasanah in cyber society and al-mujadalah in cyber society. In addition, to support the effectiveness of da’wah in cyber society, an important component that must participate is the government, education environment and family environment.

Abstract

The increasingly expansive Wahabi movement in Indonesian has caused debate in various circles, one of which is Nahdhatul Ulama. To answer Wahabi’s development, Nahdhatul Ulama felt it was necessary to provide a response, one of which was through Aula Magazine on edition February 2016. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and using analysis media text in the form of discourse analysis model Van Dijk. The results obtained are imagery of Wahabi portrayed as an organization that is dangerous for Indonesia because the way of dakwah wahabi is straigh, as Wahabi sometimes blamming someone that doing something different with Nabi Muhamamd (bid’ah) and after that bid’ah can become worse like call someone kafir.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential of the Islamic press in Indonesia in the modern era. The occurrence of media competition has caused the Islamic press in Indonesia to experience something that is dilemmatic. Starting from group interference which gave birth to the growth of the liberal Islamic press. Until the lack of Islamic mass media that carries the themes of tolerance and civilization in Islamic studies. The research method uses a library approach using techniques to analyze the contents of Islamic media. The validity of the data uses perseverance techniques and the rigorous preparation of relevant Islamic media news content. The results of the study found that da’wah media were able to reach all aspects, both children, adolescents, and parents. There is the power of the Islamic press which is under the unity of Muslims so that the Islamic press still exists in the modern era. The recent decline in the Islamic press is due to the inconsistency of the Islamic press in carrying out relevant themes for Islamic preaching positively. So that the Islamic press seems more trapped against market needs and tends to be more liberal. Even though the Islamic press should have its activeness in consuming media that has Islamic nuances, besides that innovation is also needed to develop the Islamic press with various methods, especially those relating to Islamic principles and values that promote tolerance and peace.Keywords: Existence, Islamic Press, Modern
