Abstract

This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study that produces a product in the form of digital comic media in science learning for Grade III at SD PAB 25 Medan. This study aims to determine the steps in developing digital comic media in science learning at SD PAB 25 Medan, to examine the validity of digital comic media in science learning at SD PAB 25 Medan, and to examine the practicality of digital comic media in science learning at SD PAB 25. This study uses the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The results of the development based on expert assessment show that the material expert validator obtained 90% “very valid”, and the media design expert obtained 98% “very valid”. The practicality from educators based on teacher responses obtained 90% “very practical”. The trial conducted in Grade III at SD PAB 25 Medan with a total of 25 students showed that the overall student response reached 86% in the “very practical” category.

Abstract

This study is a Research and Development (R&D) study that produces a product in the form of a Smart Box learning media for mathematics learning on solid geometry material in Grade IV at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School. This study aims to determine how the Smart Box media is developed for solid geometry material in Grade IV at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School, to test the validity of the Smart Boxmedia in mathematics learning on solid geometry material in Grade IV at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School, and to test the practicality of the Smart Box media in mathematics learning on solid geometry material in Grade IV at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School. This study uses the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, in this study, theresearcher only reached the Implementation stage. The result of this study is a Smart Box media product for mathematics learning on solid geometry material. Based on the validation results, the average score from the media expert was 97.33% (“very valid”), the material expert was 96.36% (“very valid”), and the language expert was 98% (“very valid”). The practicality results based on the teacher’s response reached86% (“very practical”), and the student response trial conducted in Grade IV A at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School with 17 students obtained 95.52% (“very practical”). Based on these results, the Smart Box media developed for mathematics learning on solid geometry material in Grade IV at Bakti 1 Private Elementary School is considered very valid and very practical, meaning that the media is“feasible” to be used in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the product of Pop-Up Book learning media on plane geometry material, (2) determine the validity level of the media, and (3) determine the practicality level of the media. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D). The development model applied is the 4D model, which consists of four stages: (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Development, and (4) Dissemination, introduced by Thiagarajan. This study produced a Pop-Up Book learning media for multiplication in elementary schools. Based on the validation results, the average scores were 91% from material experts, 93% from media experts, and 96% from language experts, indicating that the learning media meets the criteria of “very valid.” The practicality results showed that the teacher response reached 92% and the student response reached 95%, indicating that the learning media meets the criteria of “very practical.” Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Pop-Up Book learning media is highly valid/feasible and very practical for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study was conducted due to the problem of low student learning activeness, where teachers used limited variations of teaching methods and learning media, resulting in only a few students paying attention during lessons. This study aims to determine the effect of using diorama learning media on students’ learning activeness in the IPAS subject for Grade V at Bakti I Private Elementary School Medan. This research is an experimental study. The population consisted of 28 students, including 19 male students and 9 female students. The sampling technique used was total sampling, in which all members of the population were included as the research sample. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet. The independent variable in this study was diorama learning media, while the dependent variable was students’ learning activeness. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the independent sample t-test, which resulted in a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates that Ha is accepted, meaning there is a significant effect of diorama learning media on students’ learning activeness, while H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of diorama learning media on the learning activeness of Grade V students at Bakti I Private Elementary School Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the beginning reading skills of Grade II students at MIS Al-Anwar Private Elementary School Medan through the use of letter card media. Letter card media was chosen because it can attract students’ attention, help them recognize letters, and enable them to form words into meaningful reading. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and students’ reading tests. The results of the study show that the use of letter card media effectively improves students’ beginning reading skills. At the end of the second cycle, there was a significant improvement in students’ reading ability compared to the pre-cycle. In addition, students demonstrated higher motivation and interest in learning to read. Thus, letter card media is proven to be an effective and engaging tool in the process of teaching beginning reading skills.
