Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analize the banking merger policy based on Islamic perspective in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. This research is a literature study approach. Data collection was obtained, retrieved, analyzed and cited from various sources through books or research results, documents and journals that are relevant to this research. This study shows that Banking mergers in Indonesia have been regulated in several regulations as the basis for allowing this policy, especially in Sharia banking. From an Islamic perspective, Sharia banking mergers should refer to Islamic economic philosophy. Islamic banking recognizes the importance of efficiency and competition. Still, the pursuit of interests in maximizing profits should be managed to promote socio-economic justice, prosperity, and benefit. Sharia banking in post-merger Indonesia, in carrying out its functions, needs to refer to the principles that are expressly stated in statutory regulations, such as social functions, and remains based on Sharia principles. This research has implications to the policy concerning Sharia banking mergers, which should consider maslahah and religious law aspects.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic finance in global climate action through a systematic literature review and text mining analysis. Using the Scopus database, 23 English-language articles published between 2016 and 2026 were systematically selected and analyzed. The study aims to identify dominant research themes, Islamic financial instruments, and conceptual developments related to climate change mitigation and sustainable finance. Clustering analysis identifies three dominant themes: green Islamic finance and sustainable investment, Islamic banking and carbon emission reduction, and renewable energy financing and climate mitigation. Text mining results show that “sukuk” is the most dominant financial instrument discussed in the literature, highlighting the strategic role of green sukuk in financing renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and low-carbon development projects. The study also finds that Islamic banking has potential to support environmental sustainability, although its effectiveness depends on governance quality and sustainability integration. However, Islamic social finance, Islamic carbon credit systems, and green Islamic equity investments remain underdeveloped within current climate finance discussions.

Abstract

This article explores halal practices in the United Kingdom as a hybrid phenomenon emerging from the complex interaction between secular state regulation, the fragmentation of Islamic religious authority, and capitalist market logics. Employing a qualitative interpretive approach, the study draws on academic literature, regulatory documents, and empirical reflections on halal markets and consumption practices in Britain. Departing from conventional understandings that prioritize normative compliance or Muslim consumption alone, this research demonstrates that halal is produced and negotiated through legal frameworks, certification regimes, industrial strategies, and the everyday practices of minority Muslim communities. The British state functions as a technical regulator without recognizing any specific Islamic religious authority, thereby creating both adaptive space and epistemic uncertainty for Muslim consumers. Market actors respond by mobilizing neutral-secular discourses (such as quality, food safety, and universal ethics), enabling halal products to be accepted by both Muslim and non-Muslim consumers while simultaneously reproducing public secularism. Halal consumption among minority Muslims unfolds in pragmatic and situational ways, negotiating between religious obligations and structural constraints. These findings lead to the conceptualization of hybrid halal: a form of practice situated in the “in-between space” of religious norms, secular regulation, and market rationality. Theoretically, this study enriches scholarship on Islam in Europe by highlighting minority religious adaptation through banal and procedural practices. Empirically, it demonstrates how interactions among the state, the market, and Muslim communities shape the meaning and legitimacy of halal in a predominantly non-Muslim society.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the implementation of sharia digital marketing strategies in the halal tourism industry. This study aims to analyze the role of sharia digital marketing in increasing tourist loyalty toward halal tourism destinations through a library research approach. This research employed a qualitative method with a literature study design by collecting data from scientific articles, national and international journals, and other relevant academic sources indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and narrative synthesis to identify research trends, conceptual relationships, and research gaps related to halal tourism and tourist loyalty. The findings indicate that sharia digital marketing implemented through social media, Islamic e-branding, halal content, digital engagement, and transparent halal communication contributes to building tourist trust, strengthening destination image, increasing perceived value, and encouraging tourist satisfaction and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), which subsequently influence tourist loyalty. The study also highlights that the effectiveness of sharia digital marketing depends not only on digital promotion intensity but also on the consistency between halal promotion and the quality of halal tourism services

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of Strava jokis within the context of digital lifestyle ethics and Islamic economics. Strava jokis refer to the practice where someone pays another person to manipulate their sports activity data on the Strava app in order to gain social recognition on digital media. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach to analyze the Strava jokis phenomenon through relevant literature on digital ethics and Islamic economics. The findings indicate that this phenomenon reflects the strong impact of social media on individual behavior, where people often pursue image and social validation while neglecting values such as honesty and authenticity. Social pressure drives manipulative behavior that damages personal integrity and mental health due to the practice of manipulation. The Strava jokis phenomenon contradicts the principles of Maqashid Shariah, and from an Islamic economics perspective, the service of Strava jokis conflicts with fundamental principles such as honesty, justice, and transparency, as it involves deception that harms society and disrupts the social order. Therefore, a stronger ethical approach to the use of technology and social media is needed, emphasizing moral values and Islamic principles to create a more responsible digital lifestyle.

Abstract

This study examines how green halal marketing and halal supply chain transparency shape consumer trust toward halal products in Indonesia, evaluated through a Maqasid Syariah framework. The urgency is underscored by a critical gap: despite Indonesia’s position as the world’s second-largest halal economy (SGIE, 2024/2025), only 28.8% of food and beverage enterprises had obtained mandatory halal certification as of February 2025 (BPJPH, 2025). Using a qualitative descriptive approach grounded in Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol across Scopus and Google Scholar (2019–2026), supplemented by multi-source secondary data from BPS, BPJPH, KNEKS, Bank Indonesia, and digital marketplace platforms, this study constructs the Green-Halal-Chain Trust Model positioning green halal marketing (X1) and halal supply chain transparency (X2) as dual determinants of halal consumer trust (Y). Findings are validated through theoretical triangulation across Islamic jurisprudential, marketing, and consumer behaviour frameworks. Results confirm that both variables are deeply rooted in the principles of hifz al-din, hifz al-nafs, and hifz al-mal, contributing three original propositions to Islamic marketing literature.
