Abstract

ABSTRACTPaddy fields in Tomohon Barat District are local rice food suppliers, also one of the placesfor the community to make a living. The purpose of this study was to determine the area of paddyfields from 2014-2018 by using the ArcGIS and Google Earth applications and find out whetherthe area of paddy fields affected the area of paddy rice harvesting in Tomohon Barat District. This research was conducted in May to June 2020, located in West Tomohon District. Themethod used is the digitization method on screen. Secondary data was taken via the internet inBPS City Tomohon in Figures 2015-2019 and BPS District Tomohon Barat in Figures 2015-2017 as well as from the Agricultural Education and Forestry Extension Office of Tomohon BaratDistrict. The research was not conducted by field survey because it was in a Covid-19 pandemicsituation. The results showed that, the area of paddy fields in Tomohon Barat District from 2014-2018 had an area of 285-278 hectares or around 8% of the total area. The decrease in the area ofpaddy fields tends not to affect the harvested area of paddy in West Tomohon District. HarvestedArea in 2016-2018 tends to increase. This trend is influenced, among others, by the availabilityof water and the availability of labor. Keywords: Spatial Analysis, Paddy Field

Abstract

ABSTRACT Wildlife is a form of natural wealth and biodiversity of natural resources. Habitat destruction and human activities, factors that influence the decline in wildlife populations, are evident in Mt. Ambang Nature Reserve. The purpose of this study was to determine the richness of species, level of encounter, and abundance of wild species by using camera traps in the Mt. Ambang Nature Reserve. Data analysis is based on species, the number of photos, the number of individuals and the number of active days of cameras. The results shows that there were 5 wildlife species i.e. Ailurops ursinus (Phalangeridae), Gallus gallus (Phasianidae), Macaca nigra (Cercopithecidae), Macrogalidia musschenbroekii (Viverridae), Sus celebensis (Suidae). The encounter rate (ER) is dominated by M. nigra (ER 0.70 photos/day) and followed by G. gallus, M. musschenbroekii, S. celebensis, A. ursinus (ER 0.10, 0.06, 0.03, 0.01 photos/day, consecutively). The wildlife species with the highest abudance is M. nigra (KR 63,4). It is followed by G. gallus, M. musschenbroekii, A. ursinus, and S. celebensis (KR 19.5%, 9.7%, 4.8%, 2.4%, consecutively). Abstract

ABSTRACT Increasing population growth has resulted in the development of cities as centers of activity demanded to accommodate community needs. The physical development of cities is often inseparable from changing the natural landscape and spatial planning resulting in a decrease in carrying capacity and environmental services. Land limitations and spatial planning are increasingly becoming important steps to improve environmental quality, one of its efforts is by building green open spaces. Based on the results of previous studies, this study aims to determine the possibility of increasing the need for an area of green open space in the city of Manado in 2020. The results showed that the need for Green Open Space (RTH) in the city of Manado experienced an increase in 2020 to 9,364.82 ha. Keywords: green open space, oxygen demand, Manado City
