Abstract

ABSTRACTComparing physical and chemical properties of the soil in the salak (Salacca zalacca) plantation area of Pangu village and its relation to the growth and production of salak at various altitudes of 671 m asl, 512 m asl, and 400 m asl are the objectives of this study. The research was conducted in salak plantation of ≤ 10 years old at Pangu Village of South Minahasa Regency. Soil analyses of purposive sampling were conducted at the Laboratories of Soil and Soil Conservation Unit and of Soil Chemistry and Fertility Unit, Soil Science Department Agriculture Faculty UNSRAT Manado for 2 months (May to June 2017). Soil physical and chemical properties of all sites have relatively similar, ie.: sandy loam textures, more rapid permeability and low to moderate contents of N, P, K, and C-organic and moderately acidic soil pH. The reasons are similarity type of soils (Udepts of Inceptisols) in the study area. The soil fertility at altitude of 512 m asl is better than that of the other two altitudes, but the soil physical properties of 400 m asl and of 671 m asl are better than that of 512 m asl. Therefore, salak production in the three locations are more depending on the management of the plantation itself. Keywords : Physical Properties of Soil Chemistry and Salak Plant

Abstract

ABSTRACK This research was conducted to observe the changes of physical properties and responses of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) planted on Tatelu's tailings soil. The reserch conducted at the UNSRAT Experimental Garden in Wailan Village, Tomohon City on July 2018 to February 2019. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) as research methodology which consisted five treatments. The treaments were: A = 300 kg / ha of phonska fertilizer + 0 tons / ha of organic fertilizer, B = 300 kg / ha of phonska fertilizer + 50 tons / ha of goat manure, C = 300 kg / ha of phonska fertilizer + 40 tons / ha of fertilizer organic plus + 10 tons / ha goat manure, D = 300 kg / ha phonska fertilizer + 30 tons / ha organic fertilizer + 20 tons / ha goat manure, E = 300 kg / ha phonska fertilizer + 30 tons / ha organic fertilizer plus + 20 tons / ha of goat manure. Each treatment was repeated four times to obtain 20 experimental pots. Sweet corn plants as indicators. Parameters observed included: 1) Sweet corn cobs weight, 2) Oven dry weight of sweet corn plants 3) Analysis of soil physical properties after harvest: organic-C, Soil Pemeality and porosity. The field experiment used a polybag pot with a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments with four replications. The data obtained will be analyzed by variance. If F-count is greater than F-table (F count> F table), then the data will e analyzed with the smallest real difference test (BNT 5%). The results showed that the combination of organic matter in soil tailings had a significant effect on organic-C, porosity, and permeability, but it had no significant effect on cob weight, and plant dry weight, but tended to provide a greater value compared with no organic matter. Organic materials and plus organic materials tend to be better than goat manure to rehabilitate tailings.  Keywords: Rehabilitation of tailings, and kinds of organic materials.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPaddy fields in Tomohon Barat District are local rice food suppliers, also one of the placesfor the community to make a living. The purpose of this study was to determine the area of paddyfields from 2014-2018 by using the ArcGIS and Google Earth applications and find out whetherthe area of paddy fields affected the area of paddy rice harvesting in Tomohon Barat District.This research was conducted in May to June 2020, located in West Tomohon District. Themethod used is the digitization method on screen. Secondary data was taken via the internet inBPS City Tomohon in Figures 2015-2019 and BPS District Tomohon Barat in Figures 2015-2017 as well as from the Agricultural Education and Forestry Extension Office of Tomohon BaratDistrict. The research was not conducted by field survey because it was in a Covid-19 pandemicsituation. The results showed that, the area of paddy fields in Tomohon Barat District from 2014-2018 had an area of 285-278 hectares or around 8% of the total area. The decrease in the area ofpaddy fields tends not to affect the harvested area of paddy in West Tomohon District. HarvestedArea in 2016-2018 tends to increase. This trend is influenced, among others, by the availabilityof water and the availability of labor.Keywords: Spatial Analysis, Paddy Field

Abstract

ABSTRAK Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the horticultural commodities which is classified as a vegetable and is most widely cultivated in Indonesia. In addition, chilies contain minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and niacin. Tricho-compost is a fertilizer derived from organic materials containing the antagonistic fungi Trichoderma sp. Tricho-compost as fertilizer is able to provide nutrients in the soil for plants. Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) is a group of soil microorganisms that live and develop well in soils that are rich in organic matter and which are beneficial because they can spur plant growth and production. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Tricho-compost and PGPR (Plant growth promotion rhizobactery) biological agents on the vegetative growth of chili plants. This research was conducted at the green house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT) Manado. The study lasted for 3 months using RAK (randomized block design) with 4 treatments, namely Control (NPK), Tricho-compost, PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) and Tricho-compost added with PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria). Observation of growth parameters in the form of plant height, number of leaves, number of branches and stem diameter. Growth is carried out every week and starts at 2 week after transplanting until the plants are 2 months old. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the ef ect of beetroot ectract on the motality of Mas Keong (Pomacea caniculata L.) pests in Paddy Rice (Oryza sativa L.) which was carried out at the Green House of pests and Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture Unsrat. The implementation time of this research was for three months from January 2020 to March 2020 and observations were made 1 day after application, 4 observations were made with a time interval of 6 hours. This study used a completely randomized design method with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Each replication consisted of 20 individual golden snails, so the total number of golden snails used was 300 individuals. The results of the research on the mortality observation of the mas snail pest showed that the mucus was released from the body of the golden snail so that the golden snail was poisoned due to the application of the extract of beetroot. Of the five treatments showed the percentage of snail pest mortality. The application of bitung fruit extract is Control = 0.00%, Extract Concentration 2% = 70.00%, Extract Concentration 4% = 80.00%, Extract Concentration 6% = 83.33% and Extract Concentration 8% = 100.00 %. <30 minutes the golden snail has stopped eating and its movements begin to slow down and burrow into the ground, over time its body will be released from its shell, this shows that the golden snail has died. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pupuk organik kompos terhadappertumbuhan pakcoy pada tanah marginal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca FakultasPertanian, untuk percobaan pot dan untuk analisa tanah, pupuk organik kompos dilakukan diLaboratorium Kimia dan Kesuburan Tanah Jurusan Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Unsrat Manado.Pelaksanaan penelitian ini akan berlangsung selama 6 bulan. Alat dan bahan yang digunakan dilapangan yaitu sekop, karung, ayakan pasir, mistar, alat tulis menulis, kamera, timbangan, benihpakcoy, polibag, air, pupuk organik kompos. Alat dan bahan yang digunakan dalamLaboratorium tercantum dalam metode analisis: pH, Nitrogen (Metode Kjedahl), Fosfor (MetodeBray I), Kalium (Metode Bray I), C-organik (Metode Walkley and Black).Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap, tiapperlakuan dicampur pasir dengan 3 kali ulangan sehingga diperoleh 12 pot percobaan dan terdiridari 4 perlakuan 3 ulangan. Analisis dengan menggunakan sidik ragam dan jika ada pengaruhnyata dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT 5%.Hasil penelitian diperoleh kandungan hara pada marginal adalah sangat rendah. Hasilanalisis sidik ragam diperoleh tidak adanya pengaruh yang nyata pemberian pupuk komposterhadap tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun selama 5 minggu pengamatan, namun cenderungmeningkat dengan pemberian pupuk kompos. Pengaruh yang nyata terlihat pada berat segartanaman. Hasil uji lanjut menunjukkan adanya perbedaaan yang nyata antara perlakuanpemberian pupuk kompos.Kata kunci:Tanah Marginal,Kompos,Pakcoy.
