Abstract

Road deterioration is a common problem in Indonesia, influenced by population growth, the number of vehicles, and environmental factors. LASTON (Asphalt Concrete Layer) is a type of flexible pavement consisting of a mixture of asphalt, aggregate, and filler, which requires innovation to improve its quality. The objectives of this study were to determine the marshall parameters of LASTON AC-WC mixtures added with LDPE plastic and glass powder variations, obtain the KAO (Optimum Asphalt Content) value, and find the price efficiency of Conventional LASTON AC-WC mixtures and Innovative LASTON AC-WC. The research method used was an experimental test at the Civil Engineering Laboratory of Diponegoro University Vocational School, referring to the 2018 Bina Marga standard (Revision 2). This study designed 15 samples to obtain the KAO value so that the KAO obtained from the marshall test calculation was 5.5%, as well as 27 samples to determine the optimum content of LDPE plastic and Glass Powder with variations in LDPE plastic content of 4%, 5%, and 6% by weight of asphalt and Glass Powder content of 25%, 50%, and 75% by weight of fillers. The variations were tested using hot asphalt mixtures' stability and flow test methods with marshall test equipment referring to the 2018 General Specifications. This study obtained the optimum percentage of LDPE 5% and Glass Powder 75%, which met the requirements of the 2018 General Specifications. The marshall test results show the BJ Bulk value of 2.399 T/m3, VIM 4.901%, VMA 14.063%, VFA 70.393%, Stability 2029.455 kg, Flow 2.297 mm, and MQ 868.783 kg/mm. The cost of conventional asphalt mixture material is Rp 1,046,123, while the cost of innovative asphalt mixture material is Rp 987,017; thus, the innovative asphalt mixture material is more economical, with a price difference of Rp 59,105.90/ton.

Abstract

Humans need light to see things directly. The light occurs because of the reflection produced by objects so that the eyes can see clearly and comfortably. The lighting system in a room plays a vital role in creating good lighting quality. It takes a mature design to adjust the lighting according to Indonesian national standards in the room. Excessive light can interfere with the eye's activity to adapt to the surrounding environment. However, insufficient lighting can also hinder the activities of the room's occupants because the eye's ability to recognize the climate decreases, and the visual comfort of the room's occupants is disrupted. Visual comfort can be met if the visual comfort factors are realized optimally, one of which is the regularity of the standard light design regulated in the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and the room's arrangement to suit the lighting distribution. If natural lighting is not possible in a room, artificial lighting must be optimized. In boarding room number 24 D'paris Kos Putri, there is no natural light entering, so artificial light is needed to support the activities of its occupants and make them more optimal. This study aims to identify whether artificial lighting meets the room lighting standards and optimize it to comply with Indonesian National Standards.

Abstract

Along with the times in the Industrial Revolution 4.0, innovation in the construction field is needed to achieve a specific innovative idea. One is making red bricks using a mixture of ash, sawdust, and glass powder. For the composition used in red bricks with a mixture of ash, sawdust, and glass powder amounting to 0%, and 2.5% and 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% of the weight of the bricks used, based on these percentages, it can also reduce the price of production materials. The researchers did the test method by testing the brick's compressive strength and the absorbency of water. This aims to find out how significant the influence of the mixture of ash, sawdust, and glass powder is on the quality of the brick's compressive strength and the level of water absorption in the brick. It is hoped that the research of red bricks using a mixture of ash, sawdust, and glass powder is expected to be an alternative solution for the utilization of red brick mixture materials to reduce the cost efficiency of production materials and to determine the quality results of brick compressive strength and water responsiveness to bricks based on the test method to be carried out.

Abstract

The use of concrete as a construction material in Indonesia is increasing day by day for the ready mix concrete industry. One of the problems that arise in the concrete industry is disposing of concrete waste left over from testing. Things like the following have a big impact on environmental balance. Given the following, the purpose of this research is to understand the physical and mechanical properties of concrete containing concrete waste from testing which is also added with banana leaf ash.The research uses quantitative experimental methods. The variables used in this research are the independent variables consisting of variations in replacing some of the cement using banana leaf ash and replacing some of the coarse aggregate using concrete waste left over from testing. Concrete research and testing was carried out in the SV Undip laboratory. This test was carried out for 14 days with the aim of the concrete reaching a compressive strength of 90%. The variations used in this research are 5 variations with the composition of Concrete A without using additives, Concrete B using 2.5% banana leaf ash and 5% concrete waste, Concrete C using 5% banana leaf ash and 7.5% concrete waste, Concrete D uses 7.5% banana leaf ash and 10% concrete waste and finally Concrete E uses 10% banana leaf ash and 12.5% concrete waste. It is hoped that banana leaf ash and concrete waste can be used as a mixture of materials that are environmentally friendly and have a more economical price than normal concrete. This research is used as lean concrete (work floor) in non-structural construction.

Abstract

Energy consumption in the building sector, especially for lighting systems in tropical climates like Indonesia, is a crucial issue. The Integrated Building of UIN Sunan Kalijaga faces significant challenges regarding visual comfort and energy efficiency due to non-responsive facade design, resulting in low daylight penetration ("room within a room" problem) and potential glare in perimeter areas. This study aims to redesign the building using a passive design approach to improve Daylighting performance to meet SNI 6197:2020 standards. The method used is descriptive quantitative and quasi-experimental with DIALux evo simulation. Redesign strategies focus on passive interventions, including layout shifting, creation of vertical Voids and central Skylights for top-lighting, as well as optimization of Curtain Walls and shading systems. Post-redesign simulation results show that these interventions significantly increase the average Illuminance (E average) to >350 Lux and achieve a more uniform light distribution according to the target. These findings are translated into Technical Design Studies (DED, RKS, and RAB) as a guide for implementing measurable passive architecture solutions. Keywords : Passive Redesign, Daylighting, DIALux evo, SNI 6197:2020, Technical Design Study, Void.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the construction industry necessitates the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) 5D to enhance efficiency, cost accuracy, and scheduling precision. This study focuses on the redesign of the structural system for Kasih Ibu Hospital in Surakarta, located in a seismic-prone zone, using a dual system that combines Special Moment Resisting Frames (SMRF) with shear walls, based on Seismic Risk Category IV and Site Class SD. The planning process utilized Revit 2024 for 3D modeling, ETABS and SP Column for structural analysis, and Microsoft Project for scheduling. The cost estimation was derived from a Quantity Take Off (QTO) integrated with Surakarta’s AHSP unit price database, resulting in a total project value of IDR 83.6 billion including VAT. The structural analysis confirmed compliance with national building codes (SNI 2847:2019, SNI 1726:2019, and SNI 1727:2020), ensuring seismic safety and design efficiency. The BIM 5D integration through Autodesk Navisworks successfully visualized the project’s 3D model, construction timeline, and overall costs over a 43-week implementation period. This study demonstrates that BIM 5D is an effective tool for digitalizing large-scale construction projects in earthquake-prone areas.
