Abstract

Pharmacy is a basic human need that has evolved alongside human civilization. With the advancement of technology and information, pharmacy has developed into a promising profession. Initially, it was just a service aimed at protecting people from suffering. The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity that has been authorized by the Minister of Health to engage in the manufacturing of drugs or medicinal substances. The production of high-quality drugs or medicinal substances requires machinery with advanced technology to ensure performance. This certainly helps save time, human labor, and costs during the production process. In this final project research, an automation system has been developed for the Filling Alers machine, specifically the Paste Filling Machine Type 1624. The Filling Alers PFM Type 1624 machine currently requires manual assistance or an operator during the filling process of products into containers. An automated system will be created for this process using an Omron CP1E PLC. With this automation system, the filling process will run automatically without needing human or operator intervention. The results of the product filling will adhere to the established weight standards during production. The product's weight will remain stable between 455 gr and 461 gr, ensuring that the product weight does not fall below 455 gr or exceed 461 gr. This eliminates the need for additional work by the operator to adjust the product amount when the weight is either below 455 gr or above 461 gr.

Abstract

Fires are disasters that can cause significant material and non-material losses. Therefore, an effective and efficient fire detection system is needed. This study aims to design and develop a fire detection system based on the ESP32 microcontroller with advanced sensors and monitoring technology. The system uses a flame sensor to detect fire, a DHT22 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity, an MQ-135 sensor to detect smoke, and a Ublox Neo-6M GPS module to determine the location of the fire. Sensor data is sent to the Blynk application for real-time monitoring, and the system uses solar energy as the primary power source. Additionally, the system is equipped with an emergency button to send distress signals and a siren for early warning. Testing results show that the flame sensor detects fire up to a maximum distance of 105 cm, indicated by a red LED light and the siren sounding. The MQ-135 sensor shows an increase in ppm levels on the Blynk application when smoke is present, with the siren activating when the ppm level exceeds 2000. The DHT22 sensor has high accuracy, with an error of 2.96% for temperature and 2.7% for humidity when tested with a Thermohygrometer. The GPS module provides accurate location information when a fire is detected. The Blynk application successfully displays real-time sensor data and sends fire detection notifications. The solar power system charges the battery with an average voltage of 12.2 Volts and a current of 0.46 Amps, with the battery voltage gradually decreasing by 0.5 Volts. This system can detect fires quickly and accurately, provide precise location information, and issue early warnings, thus aiding in early fire response and minimizing losses.

Abstract

The rapid development of wireless technology, particularly Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), requires high-performance antennas to ensure reliable and stable data communication. Among various designs, the Yagi antenna is widely recognized for its high gain and directional radiation characteristics. However, conventional Yagi designs often face limitations in maintaining consistent signal amplification when applied to WLAN at 2.4 GHz. This research focuses on designing and realizing an 11-element circular Yagi antenna optimized specifically for 2.4 GHz applications. The proposed antenna is composed of three main parts: a driven element serving as the active dipole, a reflector to redirect and concentrate signals, and nine directors to enhance forward radiation. The methodology covers theoretical calculation of antenna dimensions based on wavelength formulas, fabrication of the prototype, and experimental performance evaluation. Measurements were carried out using an access point, WLAN USB adapter, and WirelessMon software at test distances ranging from 20 to 30 meters with concrete wall obstructions. The results show that the proposed antenna significantly outperforms a standard WLAN USB adapter. At 20 meters, the antenna achieved -66 dBm with a gain of 12 dB, while at 30 meters it maintained -87 dBm with a gain of 7 dB. Moreover, the antenna exhibits a clear directional radiation pattern with maximum amplification between 0°–20°. The novelty of this study lies in the adoption of circular-shaped elements and the 11-element configuration, which effectively enhance WLAN signal strength and coverage in obstructed environments.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to design and simulate an automatic car parking system based on the ESP 8266 microcontroller in order to improve the efficiency of parking slot monitoring. Conventional parking systems are generally operated manually, which often results in time inefficiency and difficulty in determining available capacities. The proposed design applies an Internet of Things (IoT) approach by integrating several components into a prototype simulation. The ESP 8266 microcontroller serves as the main controller, connected to infrared sensors that detect vehicle presence. A servo motor operates as the parking barrier, while an ESP 32-CAM module enables visual monitoring of the parking area. In addition, a 20x4 LCD displays the number of available slots, vehicle entry and exit status, and real-time date and time. Sensor data are also transmitted to the Blynk application for real-time monitoring and control via smartphones. Simulation testing was conducted to evaluate system functionality. The infrared sensors, with a 10 cm detection range, achieved an average response time of 1.24 seconds for barrier operation. The servo motor successfully opened at a 90-degree angle with 2 watts of power consumption and a movement speed of 1.02 seconds. The LCD displayed accurate slot availability and real-time updates, while the Blynk application provided reliable monitoring and system indicators. The ESP 32-CAM ensured continuous visual observation of the parking area, and a buzzer alarm was triggered when vehicles attempted to enter during full-capacity conditions. In conclusion, the design and simulation of the system demonstrate its potential to enhance parking management by reducing manual supervision, enabling real-time monitoring, and increasing convenience for both drivers and parking operators.

Abstract

There are still many people who do not use special rooms for smokers or smoking rooms because the air in the room is stuffy. This research aims to overcome this problem by designing a prototype exhaust fan control system in a smoking room using an arduino uno based fuzzy method. The fuzzy logic method is used to optimize exhaust fan speed settings based on the variables of smoke content, CO gas content and the number of people detected in the smoking room. This system uses several hardware devices such as the Arduino, sensor MQ-2, sensor MQ-7, and sensor proximity. Tests were carried out to verify system performance, including the output voltage of the MQ-2 and MQ-7 sensors regarding changes in smoke levels and CO gas levels, and the distance that can be detected by the proximity sensor, as well as the accuracy of the tool output by comparing the tool output results against MATLAB. The test results of the MQ-2 and MQ-7 sensors can obtain different output voltages at each PPM level. From testing the proximity sensor, the results showed that the proximity sensor can detect objects or the human body up to a distance of 30cm. From testing fuzzy logic with MATLAB, the results of comparing the tool's output value with the MATLAB output value were obtained with an accuracy of 99.673%, which can be concluded that the tool can work well.

Abstract

This research focuses on designing an automatic chicken feeding device based on Arduino Uno which is designed to increase efficiency and regularity in feeding. This system uses an Arduino Uno as a controller, a servo motor for the feeding mechanism, an infrared sensor to detect the presence of feed, and an I2C LCD to display status and monitoring data. When the sensor detects the feed bin is empty, the servo motor is activated to open, fill the feed, and close the feed bin again. Tests show that this system is able to manage feeding 500 grams of feed to the silo well. The average feed spilled when the servo motor is open is 42.75 grams at a 30° angle, 84.75 grams at a 45° angle, 100 grams at a 65° angle, and 177.75 grams at a 90° angle. This system reduces human involvement and ensures feed is provided evenly and regularly. The infrared sensor has high accuracy, and the servo motor functions well in the feeding mechanism. In addition, feed status can be monitored in real-time via LCD and Serial Monitor. In conclusion, this tool is effective for increasing the productivity and efficiency of chicken farming. Further development is suggested for IoT integration and adaptation for different types of poultry as well as environmental conditions.

Abstract

Electric switches are vital components in railway signaling systems, responsible for directing train tracks. At Jakartakota Station, single electric switches are prone to disturbances caused by high reverse voltage, which can blow 4 A fuses and halt operations. Based on this issue, this study analyzes the effect of using a 10 Ohm 100Watt resistor as a reverse voltage suppression solution. The title was chosen to reflect the specific component specifications, the type of switch system studied, and the precise research location, ensuring a clear research focus. The methodology included measuring current and voltage before and after resistor installation, analyzing system performance under both normal and obstructed conditions, and evaluating effectiveness without major modifications to indoor systems. The results show that installing the resistor reduced detection current from 4.1 A to 1.9 A, preventing fuse failures. Detection voltage remained within the relay’s operating range, while power voltage was unaffected. Compared to previous studies, the novelty of this research lies in its direct testing within an active operational environment, the use of resistor specifications tailored for high-current loads and outdoor conditions, and a practical approach that can be implemented without overhauling the entire system design. Thus, the use of a 10 Ohm 100Watt resistor is proven effective in enhancing the stability and reliability of electric switch systems, extending component lifespan, and supporting operational safety in Indonesia’s railway sector.
