Abstract

This study examines the contributions of peer influence and gender on juvenile delinquent behavior among in-school adolescents. Cross-sectional survey design was employed while purposive sampling technique was utilized to select Egor Local Government Area, Edo state. Data were conveniently collected from 218 participants using validated questionnaires and analyzed with independent samples t-test and the hypotheses accepted at p <.01 level of significance. The result revealed that peer influence significantly contributed to juvenile delinquent behavior among study participants, t(218) = -10.53, p <.01 such that those high on peer influence (M=71.98, S.D= 29.66) reported significantly higher scores on juvenile delinquent behavior compared to their counterparts who scored low on peer influence (M = 35.12, S.D =17.79). Furthermore, the result confirmed that gender significantly influenced juvenile delinquent behavior among study participants, t (218) = -12.28, p <.01 such that male participants reported higher scores on juvenile delinquent behavior (M =73.36,                SD = 27.49) more than their female counterparts (M=32.71, SD =17.82). The study concludes that peer influence and gender significantly determined the involvement of study participants in juvenile delinquent behavior. The study recommends that parents and educational institutions should sensitize adolescents on the menace of being involved in delinquent behaviors that would likely affect their lives in the future

Abstract

Nowruz is considered the greatest ancient ritual in the countries of Southwestern Asia and some other parts of the world, and it is referred to as the Civilization of Nowruz. In this civilization, modernity, combating ignorance, moderation, truthfulness, greenery, and separation from ugliness are distinctive elements. This research seeks to answer the question of how it is possible to enable cultural convergence among the countries of the Nowruz sphere by applying a proper media strategy. The findings of the study, conducted with an analytical-descriptive approach, indicate the unparalleled power of Nowruz as an intercultural and convergent platform among these societies, whereby national or transnational media can consider Nowruz as an important cultural agenda in their diplomacy. The findings indicate that despite differences in geography, politics, and elites of the countries within the Nowruz civilization sphere, convergence is possible through the establishment of a Nowruz-based media union, the policy-making of dialogue-oriented macro and transnational media based on Nowruz dialogues, and the production of visual content, especially films and animations, regarding the historicity, culture, and discourse of Nowruz in the member countries of this sphere, which plays an undeniable and effective role

Abstract

Central Asia is currently undergoing a profound transformation in regional cooperation, shifting from a passive geopolitical space to an active agent asserting itself through new connectivity initiatives and multisector diplomacy. However, the realization of a cohesive regional order is inextricably linked to Afghanistan's stability and integration. Despite its geographic centrality as the "Heart of Asia," Afghanistan remains a fragmented node, functioning more as a geopolitical barrier than a bridge within emerging regional connectivity corridors. This paper critically examines the multidimensional obstacles hindering Afghanistan's integration into the broader Central Asian regional architecture. Unlike traditional studies that focus predominantly on military security or terrorism, this research utilizes a geopolitical framework to analyze the intersection of border disputes—most notably the Durand Line conflict—and the influence of external power rivalries. Furthermore, the study investigates an under-researched dimension: how climate-induced resource scarcity exacerbates geopolitical fragility. It argues that sustainable connectivity initiatives, such as the Trans-Caspian and Middle Corridors, cannot realize their full economic potential without addressing Afghanistan's security vacuum and emerging environmental crisis. By assessing the potential of the "Heart of Asia" process, the study concludes that excluding Afghanistan from strategic planning perpetuates instability and proposes that future frameworks must adopt an inclusive approach, integrating Afghanistan’s economic potential with regional security imperatives to ensure long-term stability across Eurasia.
