Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Female Director on the Probability of a Company Experiencing Financial Distress. Springate model is used to predict the probability of a company experiencing financial distress. This study compares the effect of female director on the probability of a company experiencing financial distress without control variables and using control variables. The control variables in this study are board size, firm size and leverage. The population in this study were manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2013-2018. The samples in this study were 27 companies. The results of this study indicate that female directors have no significant effect on the probability of a company experiencing financial distress. By using control variables, it is shown that female directors do not significantly influence the probability of a company experiencing financial distress with the control variables such as board size, firm size, and leverage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of agency cost, ownership structure, signaling, investment opportunities, size, financial leverage, and profitability on dividend policies on public companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2014 - 2019. This research sample uses the entire list of companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange period 2014 - 2019. The data analysis method used is tobit regression. The results of this research analysis suggest that agency cost, ownership, investment opportunities, size, financial leverage, and profitability have a significant effect on dividend policy on companies listed in IDX period 2014 - 2019.

Abstract

This study aims to examine spending patterns in the millennial generation in Surabaya. Respondents of this study were the millennial generation who were divided into two age groups, namely 21-28 years old, who were referred to as junior millennials, and those aged 29-36 years who were referred to as senior millennials. The analysis technique used is a crosstab to examine the relationship between age and spending pattern of the millennial generation and an independent-sample t-test to test the difference between the spending pattern of the junior millennials and senior millennials. This study showed a significant relationship between age and spending pattern on the millennial generation, and there is a significant difference between the spending pattern of the junior millennials and senior millennials.

Abstract

This study examines the performance of equity mutual funds using Sharpe, Treynor, Jensen, and M2. The sample used in this study is 57 stock mutual funds in 2015 – 2019 and 29 stock mutual funds in 2010 – 2019. The performance of stock mutual funds will be compared with LQ – 45 and IHSG to find out whether they underperform or outperform on market performance. The results showed that when seen in years 2015 - 2019 with the benchmark LQ - 45, 11 equity funds outperformed by using Sharpe, Treynor, and M2, and 12 mutual funds stocks outperformed by using a Jensen. Using the Composite Index as the benchmark, it is found that four equity funds outperformed by using Sharpe, M2, and 5 equity funds outperformed by using Treynor and Jensen from 57 samples of mutual fund shares. From the performance of the year 2010 - 2019, it is found that the 10 equity funds outperformed by using Sharpe and M2, and 15 equity funds outperformed by using Treynor and Jensen with LQ – 45 as the benchmark. The Composite Index found that 0 of stock mutual funds outperformed by using Sharpe and M2, while 3 mutual funds outperformed using Treynor and 2 mutual funds outperformed using Jensen from 29 stock mutual funds samples.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of demography, social media, risk attitude, and overconfidence on the financial literacy of users of social media in Surabaya. The sample used in this study amounted to 300 respondents. Data were collected using a online questionnaire via Google Form. The data analysis method used in this study is PLS. The analysis test results show that there is an effect of demography, social media, risk attitude, and overconfidence on users' financial literacy in Surabaya.

Abstract

Investment is significant to prepare human needs in the future. To make investment decisions, investors will try to make their decisions as rationally as possible. However, one cannot deny that some irrational factors or biases also influence investment decision-making. This study examines financial literacy, risk attitude, and saving motives on disposition bias of mutual fund investors. The sample used is mutual fund investors, and the respondents themselves make decisions to sell or buy mutual funds. The total of respondents is 116 respondents. The regression method used in this study is binary logistic regression using SPSS software. This study found that financial literacy and risk attitude has a significant effect on disposition bias. Meanwhile, the variable saving motives have no considerable impact on disposition bias.

Abstract

The development of investment in Indonesia has increased rapidly over the past few years. One of the key factors affecting stock traders' trading behavior is information. Information that was previously difficult to obtain by investors became easily obtained due to technological developments. In addition to information, the characteristics of traders also influence their trading behavior. The population used in this study is the entire citizen of Surabaya, and the sample of this study is stock traders who have a minimum of 1-year trading experience. Data analysis is done by using Partial Least Square with Smart PLS 3.0. The result of this study is that information has a significant effect on trading behavior, while neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness do not moderate the effect of information on trading behavior significantly.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between gender and risk aversion and overconfidence in making financial asset investment decisions for investors in Surabaya. The sample in this study amounted to 179 investors. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Methods of data analysis were performed using cross-tabulations and chi-square. This analysis shows that gender has a significant relationship with risk aversion and overconfidence in making financial asset investment decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and financial Behavior on Indonesian professional basketball athletes. The population in this study is Indonesian professional basketball athletes who are the members of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) 2021. The sample in this study is Indonesian professional basketball athletes who have credit cards and investments. Sources of data in this study through the distribution of questionnaires. The data analysis method uses analysis Partial Least Square (PLS). This analysis shows that financial literacy and financial behavior have a significant effect on financial satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and managerial experience on financial management performance of SMEs. The data collection technique in this study was using a questionnaire distributed to 400 SME owners in Surabaya. The data that has been collected is then processed by the logistic regression analysis method using the software IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results show that financial literacy and managerial experience variables significantly affect financial management performance variables.
