Abstract

Cultural maintenance in Indonesia aims to preserve the cultural diversity of the Indonesian people, including traditions, arts, languages, customs, and cultural values. Culture plays a role in the formation of groups about the traditions of life inherited in society. One of the film's works reflecting people's lives was Melody Kota Rusa. Against the backdrop of Papuan culture, the film features traditions, customs, beliefs, and values still held in high esteem by the indigenous Papuan people. The existence of the movie Melody Kota Rusa can be an information medium about cultural ecology wisdom. The film can also be understood as a tool to convey messages and information to students. That the culture in Indonesia is so numerous and vast that it's assembled through the medium of storytelling. This study focused on the cultural ecology contained in the movie Melody Kota Rusa. The analysis in this study aims to explore the forms of cultural ecology that appear in the film Melody Kota Rusa, using semiotics studies to identify the cultural ecological symbols contained in the film, by applying Julian H. Rusa's theory of cultural ecology. Steward. This study uses a qualitative method, in which research is conducted with descriptive properties through analytical methods to collect data, sampling or data sources in this study by watching Melody Kota Rusa films carefully all scenes, dialogs, music, visual images, and other subjects. The film's setting is related to Papuan culture. Data collection techniques with triangulation and data analysis are qualitative.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach through the utilization of various forms of digital content to optimally enhance students’ learning outcomes. The research employs a descriptive qualitative design aimed at gaining an in-depth understanding of the learning process being implemented. The primary data were obtained from an analysis of the Grade VIII Indonesian language teaching module, while supporting data were collected through interviews with students of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program involved in the learning process. The findings indicate that the design and implementation of learning activities followed the stages of PBL systematically, thereby encouraging collaboration, active discussion, and problem-solving activities in the classroom. CRT principles were clearly reflected in the selection of learning materials related to students’ cultural backgrounds, such as speech texts representing Banjar and Javanese cultures. The integration of digital media, including Google Sites, instructional videos, and interactive quizzes, was proven to increase students’ engagement, motivation, and participation during the learning process. Overall, the synergy between PBL, CRT, and digital content created a more relevant, inclusive, and contextual learning environment and had a positive impact on improving students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study analyzes directive speech acts in the short story collection Dua Tengkorak Kepala: Cerpen Pilihan Kompas Tahun 2000 using the theoretical foundation of pragmatics, where speech acts are understood as doing something by speaking. The main objective of this study is to identify the forms of directive speech acts that appear and describe the functions played by these utterances. The results of the analysis show that in this short story collection, nine types of directive speech acts were found with a total of 38 data. The types of directive speech acts identified, sorted by data frequency, include: ordering (13 data), requesting (9 data), advising (4 data), questioning (3 data), inviting (3 data), begging (2 data), prohibiting (2 data), warning (1 data), and suggesting (1 data). These findings conclude that directive speech acts are very important in forming relationships between characters, advancing the plot, and showing how language is used to influence the actions of interlocutors in literary works.

Abstract

Students' success in mastering Natural and Social Sciences competencies is often hampered by misconceptions that go undetected by teachers. Misunderstandings of basic ecosystem concepts risk hindering mastery of more complex material at the next level. This study aims to analyze students' misconceptions on ecosystems using a more accurate diagnostic instrument than conventional tests. This study was conducted at Growong Kidul 02 elementary school using a quantitative descriptive approach. The main instrument used was the Four Tier Diagnostic Test, designed to measure students' answers, their level of confidence in their answers, their reasons, and their level of confidence in their reasons. The results revealed that the use of the four-tier diagnostic test effectively differentiated students' understanding categories between those who understood the concept, those who did not understand it, and those who had misconceptions. Based on the analysis, a significant prevalence of misconceptions was found in the indicators of interactions between ecosystem components and energy flow. These findings prove that the four-tier diagnostic method provides more detailed information about students' cognitive structure than conventional multiple-choice tests. The implications of this research emphasize the importance for educators of implementing regular diagnostic assessments as a foundation for designing appropriate remedial learning strategies. By identifying the root causes of misconceptions, teachers can provide more targeted instructional interventions to optimally improve students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

There is growing concern over the fading of local cultural traditions due to the influence of globalization; therefore, a scientific study is needed to understand the functions, meanings, and roles of the Pacu Jalur tradition in community life. This research aims to examine the existence of the Pacu Jalur tradition in Sungai Pinang Village as a form of local cultural heritage that continues to survive amid modernization and social change. The study employs a qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain in-depth data from various informants. The findings indicate that Pacu Jalur has multidimensional functions, including ritual, entertainment, moral education, economic, as well as identity and social integration functions. This tradition not only strengthens social solidarity and cohesion within the community but also contributes to character building among the younger generation and enhances the local economy through cultural tourism. In conclusion, the Pacu Jalur tradition in Sungai Pinang Village remains strong and relevant, and therefore needs to be preserved sustainably through the support of both the community and the government so that it continues to live on and retain its significance for future generations.

Abstract

The increasingly complex growth of urban mobility requires an analytical approach that can optimize transportation networks effectively and sustainably. Graph theory is one of the mathematical methods widely used in modeling road network structures and analyzing inter-node connectivity to obtain more efficient routing and network optimization solutions. This study aims to systematically review the development of graph theory application in urban transportation network optimization through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 protocol for articles published between 2020 and 2025. A total of ten articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth. The review results show that graph algorithms such as Dijkstra, Bellman–Ford, Floyd–Warshall, Minimum Spanning Tree (MST), Graph Neural Network (GNN), and the hybrid Dijkstra–A* method can improve route efficiency, reduce travel time, improve navigation accuracy, and strengthen congestion prediction capabilities. In general, graph theory has proven to be an effective and adaptive approach in supporting urban transportation network planning and management. Further research is recommended to integrate graph theory with real-time traffic data and artificial intelligence technology to improve the accuracy and responsiveness of modern transportation systems.
