Abstract

Allocating the number of resources needed by cloud applications is very crucial concern in the cloud environment. If the resource allocation is not managed precisely, the cloud services may starve during the peak load time or waste the resources during the off-peak time. Auto-scaling mechanism is one approach used in cloud environment in which service providers can maintain the resources and reduce waste resources by automatically increasing or decreasing them when needed. It is still difficult to predict the client-side experience which later will cause in decreasing performance because of lacking computing instances. This paper focuses on allocating resources at the application level for the efficient resource utilization and presents a novel cloud resource management framework. The proposed system monitored the end-users response time directly from client-side. Several thresholds were defined with Quality of Services (QoS) considerations which include response time and error rates sampling to optimize the decision of reallocating the virtual resources. The results dynamically allocate the virtual resources among the cloud applications based on their workload. Based on the experimental results, the recommendation threshold is 0.6 for the cloud system, as it can improve performance while minimizing costs.

Abstract

Sequence Alignment is used to find out the similarity of the sequence of two DNA. One of the alignment algorithms is the Needleman-Wunsch algorithm which is a global alignment algorithm that uses the entire length of the DNA sequence. In this research, the algorithm is applied to a website-based application system to determine the level of similarity of the DNA sequence of Maleo (Macrocephalon Maleo) which is an endemic animal to Sulawesi, with a comparison of Gosong Kaki Merah (Megapodius Reinwardt) which has a wide global distribution. The results of the alignment of Maleo (Macrocephalon Maleo) and Kaki Merah (Megapodius Reinwardt) DNA sequences on a website-based application system have an average similarity level of 83.39% and an average gap value of 8.42%.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in natural beauty, diverse ethnic groups, cuisines, and languages, making it one of the most popular destinations for both domestic and international tourists. The purpose of this study is to forecast the number of foreign tourist visitors from 2020 to 2021. The government can improve facilities or infrastructure while also preserving the beauty and culture of Indonesia's various ethnic groups. This study will investigate 101 foreign countries that visited Indonesia using one of the Exponential Smoothing methods. In forecasting, the Triple Exponential Smoothing method has three smoothing times. Forecasting in 101 foreign tourists visiting Indonesia yields different parameter results because each result has a different smoothing value. Once the parameters ranging from 0.1 to 0.9 is close to forecasting results, there are close to the actual value. The search ends at one of these parameters because it already yields the expected results to calculate the error value using the MAPE method. There were 20 foreign tourists selected based on the average number of visits to Indonesia.

Abstract

Motor vehicle distribution companies which are the source of this research data are located in Banda Aceh and Medan. The vehicles will then be sent to several areas, namely Lhokseumawe, Panton Labu, Meulaboh, Takengon, Subulussalam, Kuta Binjei, Kutacane, Aceh Singkil, Rimo and North Aceh. The problem in the process of sending vehicles is that if the inventory of vehicles in one of the warehouses is empty, then the supply of vehicles is obtained from warehouses that are still available in the warehouse regardless of distance. This paper describes the optimization of transportation costs for Fleet product distribution. Products are distributed from two sources to ten destinations. The cost of sending the vehicle incurred by the company is Rp 152,994,625. By using the Vogel's Approximation Method (VAM) and Modified Distribution Method (MODI), the total cost generated is Rp 142.728.100. Solving transportation problems with the transportation method can minimize and optimize the cost of sending a vehicle of Rp 10.266.525 or 6.71% and it can increase company profits.

Abstract

As the number of private vehicles grows, so does the demand for parking space. It was also in charge of traffic congestion and high parking fees in downtown, particularly near public services and the central business district. The goal of this paper was to optimize path planning with the least amount of energy and the most parking space. To achieve this goal, three parts of optimization were used. They were divided into three categories: optimal parking space for obtaining area bounded and parking angle, path planning with boundaries and constraints to find the path with the least amount of energy, and finally vehicle direction for comparison with other recent works. The simulation revealed that the best parking space could result in a parking angle as the final vehicle direction. Based on the results, the produced path was more efficient, with an objective function energy of 394.44 unit of energy and a vehicle speed of 4.3 km/h. Because of its closeness to previous work, the route verified that it could be driven in reverse parking action.

Abstract

Inflation is an increase in the price of goods and services, in general that occurs continuously over a certain period. The government in a country or region needs to examine and pay attention to inflation data in the past to find out the inflation rate movement in a region. This study aims to predict the inflation rate in Aceh Province in the period September 2021 to January 2022 using the Box-Jenkins Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method. The best model obtained in this study is the ARIMA(2,0,2) model, which has a reasonably good forecasting accuracy value. The accuracy measured using the RMSE (Root of Mean Square) and MAE (Mean Absolute Error) values are close to zero, namely 0.474 and 0.373, respectively. The forecast results from inflation value this period classified into the category of mild inflation, where the increase in the price of goods that occurred during that period was still below 10%, so it did not impact the regional economy.

Abstract

Economic growth is a process that reflects the dynamic aspects of an economy that describes the movement of the economy from time to time. Economic growth is one indicator of the success of the implementation of development that can be used as a macro benchmark and can be reflected in changes in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in an economy. area. This study was conducted to determine the effect of the Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) and the Additional Revenue Sharing Fund (TDBH) of oil and gas on the Acehnese economy after the Special Autonomy Fund (SAF) ended from an Islamic economic perspective. The type of research used in this research is quantitative. The method used in this study is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from related agencies. The results of this study using the ARDL model show that partially the oil and gas DBH has a negative and significant effect, while the oil and gas TDBH has a positive and significant impact on the Acehnese economy after the SAF ends.

Abstract

Operations research is widely applied by industrial and business companies to maximize profits or minimize potential losses. In practice, many operations research problems cannot be solved using linear models and require nonlinear models instead. This is the case for Lavera Konveksi, a company that produces long-sleeve t-shirts, collared t-shirts, plain t-shirts, and training pants each month. The company faces issues with fluctuating production quantities and costs. This research aims to develop a nonlinear objective function model to minimize production costs and determine the minimum production cost and the optimal number of items to be produced by Lavera Konveksi. The data used in this study includes production quantities and costs for the period from December 2019 to April 2020. The research employs the Quadratic Programming method, where the nonlinear problem is transformed into a linear case and then solved using the Wolfe Simplex Method. The results indicate that Lavera Konveksi should produce 530 long-sleeve t-shirts, 455 collared t-shirts, 425 plain t-shirts, and 180 training pants to achieve a minimum production cost of IDR 49,436,799.

Abstract

Health complaints are one aspect of the problem that is the focus of attention in Indonesia. Over the past 3 years, the percentage of health complaints in Indonesia has increased. One of the ways that can be done to reduce the problem of health complaints is to find out the factors that influence it. This study aims to find a suitable model to determine the factors that influence health complaints in Indonesia. To find out the factors that influence health complaints in Indonesia, this study uses a panel data regression analysis method with 3 basic models, namely the Common Effect Model (CEM), Fixed Effect Model (FEM), Random Effect Model (REM). The data in this study consists of cross section data in the form of 34 provinces in Indonesia and time series data in the form of data from 2020 to 2022 with 1 dependent variable and 9 independent variables. The results showed that the selected model of health complaints in Indonesia was the Random Effect Model with individual effects. This model produces an R2 value of 58.19% and an adjusted R2 value of 54.09%. This study obtained 3 significant variables, namely the sick population who did not seek treatment, the population who self-medicated, and the birth process that was not assisted by health workers. Meanwhile, the variables that have a positive effect are the sick population that does not seek treatment, women with marital status using family planning, and population who smoke.
