Spektrum Communication Journal is an academic journal published quarterly every year every March, June, September, and December by Stikosa-AWS in collaboration with ISKI-Jatim, APJIKI, and ASPIKOM. This journal publishes original researches in multi concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms and methodologies in the communications studies perspective. The focus of this journal is in the communication studies perspective and the scope of the journal are: Journalistics; Public Relations; Broadcasting (TV and Film); Marketing & Tourism Communication; Media and Studies; Gender Studies; Advertising; Every received article should follow the Author guidelines. Any submitted paper will be reviewed by reviewers. The review process employs Double-blind Review that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewers.

Abstract

Media massa sangat berperan dalam memberi informasi berbagai peristiwa di dunia. Sebagai informasi saat ini yakni bagaimana fenomena trangender di konstruksikan dalam media massa. Secara definisi transgender merupakan seseorang yang mengenakan atribut-atribut gender berlainan dengan konsepsi gender yang dikonstruksikan secara sosial oleh masyarakat. Pada peneliti ini peneliti melakukan pengamatan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Peneliti melakukan perbandingan bingkai pemberitaan media oleh negara Indonesia dengan Amerika Serikat. Pada hasil dari penelitian ini Media Massa pun dalam menampilkan sebuah informasi selalu menilaikan dengan respon negative seakan kaum minoritas ini dianggap membawa pengaruh buruk pada setiap orang. Rekonstruksi inilah sering terjadi dan dibangun oleh media sehingga penerima pada audience atau masyarakat pengkonsumsi media akan menganggap kaum LGBTQ adalah perilaku yang menyimpang dan tidak mendapat tempat dalam kehidupan sosial. Kata Kunci: Transgender; Media Massa ; Pendekatan kualitatif; Studi Kasus.

Abstract

Tanda merupakan bahasa yang memiliki makna sesuai dengan kesepakatan atau hasil konstruksi sosial dan budaya. Iklan “Gojek mempersembahkan: Cerdikiawan” mencoba menyampaikan makna-makna tertentu dalam visualisasi, audio, narasi dan tagline. Menggunakan metode analisa semiotika Roland Barthes, penulis menemukan beberapa konstruksi makna Cerdikiawan yang terkandung dalam iklan berdurasi 60 detik ini. Iklan ini mengkonstruksikan “cerdikiawan” sebagai: (1) seseorang yang memiliki kemampuan atau pandai menggunakan alat-alat yang ada untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan; (2) kemampuan menggunakan alat yang murah untuk hasil yang maksimal; (3) keahlian menerobos segala rintangan dan banyak permasalahan dalam satu waktu dengan satu cara yang sederhana; (4) memiliki konsistensi dalam tindakan sehari-hari dan terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu; (5) seseorang yang setia menggunakan aplikasi karya anak bangsa.

Abstract

The research entitled “Interpersonal Communication Between Doctor and Dental and Oral Patients during Pre-and Post-Treatment of Dental and Oral Surgery at RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya”. Aims at finding out the process of interpersonal communication between oral surgery and the maxillofacial doctor and dental and oral surgery patient. This research is qualitative in nature with 3 informant patients of dental and 3 dentists. The data collection techniques are observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The formulation of the research question is how the interpersonal communication between doctor and dental and oral patients during pre and post-treatment of dental and oral surgery is. The result of this research is the pre and post interpersonal communication which positively gives an important impact on patients, dentists, and family of patients. Positive communication proves to have an advantageous impact while negative communication even can cause a negative impact both to the dentist and to patients. There are many ways to improve the effectiveness of interpersonal communication between doctor and patients. However, there are some easy ways to create effective communications: positiveness, empathy, supportiveness, equality and openness. It is suggested that the patient and family of the patient be more active in asking about what to do for the pretreatment of dental and oral surgery. And in bringing out pains and impacts of post-dental and oral surgery to the doctor. For the specialist dentists of oral surgery and maxillofacial who perform the operation, he or she should work cooperatively and inform the patient and patient family actively so that communication between dentist and patient can go positively and effectively.

Abstract

Kompas TV as one of the private television stations, by giving a new program in the form of competition, namely Stand Up Comedy Indonesia. With its existence that has been running for 8 sessions, Stand Up Comedy Indonesia is still popular with the Indonesian people as evidenced by the enthusiasm and interest of the public in auditioning. The problem formulation in this research is "How the influence of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia program to comic behavior in StandUpIndo_SBY community". This study aims to determine whether the influence of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia program against comic behavior in the StandUpIndo_SBY community. This type of research is a quantitative research by distributing an online questionnaire to comics in the StandUpIndo_SBY community. The analytical method used is "Simple Linear Regression" to determine the strength of the influence relationship between a television program with the audience as a consumer of mass media. Based on the results of the study there is a significant influence between the Stand Up Comedy Indonesia program against comic behavior in the StandUpIndo_SBY community. It can be shown that the influence of knowledge/ cognitive is 69.6%; influence on attitude / affective equal to 76,5% and influence to behavior / attitude equal to 61,2%. Thus, Stand Up Comedy Indonesia program is able to improve comic behavior in StandUpIndo_SBY community. Thus, Stand Up Comedy Indonesia program is able to improve comic behavior in StandUpIndo_SBY community.

Abstract

Fenomena korupsi di Indonesia saat ini seperti menjadi fenomena yang lazim atau biasa di masyarakat, maraknya pelanggaran penyelewengan kekuasaan dan hukum untuk menjalankan aktivitas korupsi menjadi sebuah realitas sosial di kehidupan masyarakat bangsa Indonesia. Banyak contoh kasus yang terjadi saat ini, seperti contoh kasus e-KTP yang dilakukan oleh terdakwa Setyo Novanto yang juga selaku mantan ketua DPR RI di dewan pemerintahan Indonesia. Selain itu masih banyak lagi aktivitas-aktivitas korupsi terjadi di Indonesia sebagai negara pemerintahan. Kelompok sosial Politik dan kelompok sosial penduduk di masyarakat, baik itu sudah termasuk tindakan kriminal (pidana dan/atau perdata) maupun tidak termasuk sebagai penyelewengan atau kesalahan secara hukum. Artikel ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dan dengan pendekatan Kualitatif. Dengan kajian dan analisa fenomena tersebut secara teoritik khususnya dalam perspektif teori sosial Struktural Fungsional, teori Neo Fungsional, Teori Neo Marxian hingga dianalisa dengan perspektif teori kritis dengan mahzab Frankfurt School. Hasil dari artikel ilmiah ini adalah sebuah kompilasi Teoritik Perpektif Teori Struktural Fungsional, Neo Fungsional, Teori Neo Marxian dan Teori Kritis (Frankfurt School) tentang Realitas Fenomena Korupsi Indonesia dalam kerangka dinamika konflik sosial politik dan dialektika antara State, Political Society dan Civil Society.

Abstract

Online game Counter Strike: Global Offensive is an online game that provides communication features in it. Communication that occurs inside a virtual communication can be defined as, where the players get the ease of communicating for a good partnership. This research to find out how a virtual communication patterns that occur in conversations in drawing up the strategy team. This research uses the theory of virtual communication, communication patterns, computer mediated communication and the form of the interaction process to summarize and analyze findings data from interviews and observations.The results obtained indicate the existence of a multidirectional communication patterns formed from the activities of communication within the team. The form of the interaction process were also influential in the effectiveness of communication within the team.

Abstract

This study was conduct to examine how the level of satisfaction of Surabaya teenagers against program “Pagi Kanca Muda” on Radio EBS FM Surabaya. To find out how the level of satisfaction of Surabaya teenagers against program “Pagi Kanca Muda” on Radio EBS FM Surabaya, researcher is using Uses and Gratification Thory, the type of this study is descriptive quantitative research, the technique of collecting data in this study is using survey methods. From the data collected is analyzed in a descriptive to describe the satisfaction of Surabaya teenagers against program "Pagi Kanca Muda" on Radio EBS FM Surabaya. There are 4 categories to determine the level of satisfaction of Surabaya teenagers, specifically the satisfaction of personally identifying, satisfaction of information, satisfaction of integration and social interaction, and satisfaction of diversion. Satisfaction is measured by looking at the discrepancy between the expected satisfaction (Gratification Sought) and the satisfaction obtained (Gratification Obtained). By looking at the ratio of gratification motive scores obtained with the needs of listeners by listening to the progam "Pagi Kanca Muda” on Radio EBS FM Surabaya, the result mean value calculation Gratification Sought (50,89) is smaller than the value of Gratification Obtained (66,16 ) (needs GS < GO). Which means that satisfaction has arisen in Surabaya teenagers against program " Pagi Kanca Muda" on Radio EBS FM Surabaya. Additionally the difference between expectations and satisfaction of Surabaya teenagers against program "Pagi Kanca Muda" on Radio EBS FM Surabaya is significant and can be used on all existing listeners. Abstract

As a company Telkom was accused to build customer loyality instead by improving sevice quality and adjusting the right strategy to deal with customer complain. Internet attendence recently was a big opportunity for company to upgrading the conventional way to become a fast and eficiently service. My indihome was build by PT.Telkom Indonesia as an online apps who believed to give a new way for better communication betwen company and customer by Customer Service Representative. In this research, researchers want to discover how much affect my indihome apps to customer Indihome Surabaya manner, with a 609.474 population of customer from January – December 2017 using database of Telkom Regional V Surabaya whose sampled by slovin formula with an error level 10% and the result are 100 respondents. Collecting methode was using survey and quesioner to gave accurate result for research. Result of analysis test show that My Indihome apps have a positive effect and significant for customer Indihome Surabaya. This was proven by t hitung 5.683 which is bigger than t tabel 1.664 so the hypothesis is accepted which mean my indihome apps effected positively and significantly to customer manner. Base on simple regresion liniear test amount 0,498 who included on middle category. This is because conventional services such as Plasa Telkom office and telephone service 031-147 still applied by Telkom to give extra service to customer Hard Complain.

Abstract

Listening to radio is one of the entertainment media and also a means of information for the community. Radio programs that are listened to will affect everyday life for listeners, in searching for information and also entertainment. The development of mass media, which is quite rapid, has led to many new innovations from media companies. Several years ago many mass media were present in the new concept, believing that the presence of online media as a form of internet application. Radio is one form of mass communication, because what is made and produced by the media is addressed to the general public. The selection of Suara Surabaya radio can not be separated from the characteristics of the broadcast program that can be heard by various segments. This can be seen from the program at Radio Suara Surabaya, one of them is Muda Luar Biasa, the program is a forum for young people and young adults who have new ideas and ideas in various fields, so they can inspire their peers through Radio Suara Surabaya broader range. The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the Young Extraordinary Radio Sound Surabaya program has on the interest of teenagers in entrepreneurship. The Use and Gratification theory is used in this study, the use of the theory because media users play an active role in selecting and using media in the media. In other words, media users are active parties in the communication process. The existence of a new idea or idea channeled through Radio Suara Surabaya's Extraordinary Young Program made this research relevant to the theory of Diffusion of Innovation, mentioned in the theory, a process of spreading new ideas or things in an effort to change a society.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the phenomenon of urban society that tends not to give place to women, especially Muslim women wearing veils. This condition leads to the efforts of a group of Moslem women to create their own space, known as the concept of feminine space. Advances in information technology and communications make this movement gains momentum. Through virtual media, namely Facebook and Twitter, this movement proceeds to create a community of women with hijabs (Hijabers Community). HC community has a mission to change the public perspective that the hijab represents traditionality into a different view that women with hijabs are modern, fashionable, and dynamic. This work aimed to reveal that HC is more than a virtual community, it is a movement as these women attempt to get space in urban society. The writer interviews the initiators of Hijabers Community, to find out how they describe themselves, how they perceive the surrounding environment, and how they view the relationship between them and other groups in urban society.
