Abstract

The rapid growth of retail micro, small, and medium enterprises or MSMEs in Indonesia has intensified business competition, requiring business actors to implement service excellence, effective promotional strategies, and customer satisfaction to build long-term customer loyalty. This study aims to analyze the effect of service excellence, customer satisfaction, and promotion on customer loyalty of retail MSMEs in Cikeas Udik Village. This research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 78 respondents selected using proportional random sampling from a population of 312 retail MSMEs. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, followed by classical assumption tests, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results indicate that service excellence, customer satisfaction, and promotion have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, both partially and simultaneously. These findings suggest that improving service quality and implementing appropriate promotional strategies can enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen customer loyalty. Therefore, retail MSMEs are encouraged to improve service competencies, optimize digital-based promotional activities, and continuously evaluate customer satisfaction to support sustainable business performance.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the way micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) communicate and promote their products. Social media is not only a means of sharing information but also serves as a relatively inexpensive and effective interactive promotional tool. This study aims to understand the meaning of social media as a communication and promotional tool from the perspective of MSMEs in North Cikarang. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation of eight MSMEs selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted thematically with an emphasis on interpreting the subjective experiences of informants. The results of the study indicate that MSMEs interpret social media in four main dimensions: (1) as a two-way communication tool that strengthens interactions with consumers, (2) as a product promotion showcase through visual content, short videos, and live selling, (3) as a business identity space that builds consumer image and trust, and (4) as a learning platform through digital trends and consumer feedback. The main obstacles faced include limited digital literacy, limited resources, and the dynamics of platform algorithms. Social commerce phenomena such as TikTok Shop are seen as opening up new market opportunities, although they also pose a risk of platform dependence. This study emphasizes the importance of increasing digital literacy, diversifying promotional strategies, and ecosystem support from the government and related institutions so that MSMEs are more adaptive to digital change. These findings provide theoretical contributions to the phenomenology-based digital marketing literature and practical implications for the sustainability of MSMEs in the era of a social media-based economy.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed human resource management, particularly in organizational talent management. This study examines the effect of AI-based talent management on employee engagement and its impact on organizational resilience. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey of employees from service organizations and knowledge-based industries in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. The findings indicate that AI-based Employee engagement is positively and significantly impacted by talent management, which in turn significantly influences organizational resilience. Additionally, AI-based talent management directly affects organizational resilience, both independently and through the mediating role of employee engagement. These results highlight the importance of AI-driven talent management in enhancing organizational adaptability and sustainability amid dynamic environmental changes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the response of the Indonesian capital market to the announcement of the establishment of Danantara as a national sovereign wealth fund using a comparative quantitative approach and event study method. The focus of the study is on changes in foreign flow and the volume of transactions of strategic state-owned enterprises on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Secondary data was obtained from ten strategic state-owned enterprises with an observation period before and after the announcement in February 2025. The results show a significant difference in the trading volume of strategic SOE stocks after the establishment of Danantara. In addition, foreign selling experienced a significant change, while foreign buying did not show a significant difference. These findings indicate that the announcement of Danantara's formation was perceived as important information by the market and responded to in the short term, mainly through stock trading activities, while foreign investors tended to be more cautious in adjusting their investment decisions

Abstract

Increasing competition in the labor market requires university graduates to demonstrate strong work readiness supported by adaptive skills and self-confidence. This study examines the effects of lecturers’ transformational leadership, internship experience, and intrinsic motivation on students’ work readiness, with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 55 Management students who had completed an internship program. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling. The findings show that lecturers’ transformational leadership, internship experience, and intrinsic motivation do not directly affect work readiness. However, internship experience and intrinsic motivation have a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy, while transformational leadership does not. Self-efficacy significantly influences work readiness and mediates the effects of internship experience and intrinsic motivation. These results highlight the central role of self-efficacy in translating learning experiences and motivation into work readiness. This study is limited by its small sample size and single-institution context, suggesting the need for broader future research.

Abstract

This research explores the role of institutional credibility and government policies in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Indonesia. As a developing economy, Indonesia's ability to attract foreign investment is influenced by factors such as regulatory frameworks, political stability, and infrastructure. However, challenges such as bureaucratic inefficiencies and policy inconsistencies hinder FDI growth. The problem addressed in this study is understanding how institutional credibility and government initiatives affect the flow of FDI into Indonesia. The primary objectives of the research are to analyze the impact of institutional credibility on FDI, examine the role of government policies in enhancing the investment climate, and identify areas for improvement in attracting foreign capital. A qualitative research method was employed, utilizing document analysis of government reports and policy documents, as well as in-depth interviews with key informants, including policymakers, business leaders, and economists specializing in FDI. The results show that transparent, consistent, and predictable policies significantly boost investor confidence, while bureaucratic inefficiencies and inconsistent regulations remain barriers. Additionally, tax incentives, regulatory simplification, and infrastructure development have a positive impact on attracting foreign investment. The study concludes that Indonesia must prioritize policy consistency, improve bureaucratic efficiency, and continue to invest in infrastructure to enhance its competitiveness in the global investment market.

Abstract

This investigation examines how electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) and electronic service quality (e-servqual) influence purchase intention through brand trust as a mediating variable, focusing on Rumah Undangan.id, a digital invitation SME on Shopee. Using Social Exchange Theory (SET), the research explores how digital interactions and online service quality create perceived exchange value, strengthen consumer trust, and drive purchase intention. A quantitative approach with purposive sampling was employed, collecting data from 196 respondents who purchased digital invitation products. Data was gathered via online forms and analyzed using SEM-PLS methodology. Findings reveal that e-WOM significantly and positively affects both brand trust and purchase intention. Similarly, e-servqual significantly influences trust and purchase intention. Brand trust positively impacts buyer motivation and mediates the relationship between e-WOM, e-servqual, and purchase intention. Study limitations include its focus on a single MSME brand, limiting generalizability, and reliance on respondent perceptions without considering other external variables. The research contributes theoretically by strengthening SET application in digital marketing contexts through integrating e-WOM, e-servqual, and brand trust. Practically, it offers insights for digital-based MSMEs to enhance consumer purchase intention by managing positive online reviews and improving e-servqual to build sustainable brand trust. Keywords: e-wom, e-servqual, brand trust, purchase intention, SET

Abstract

The scarcity of resources, a crucial concept in conventional economics, has been a matter of debate among Muslim economists. Some of them argue that the resources available in the world are limited. Others argue that the resources provided by Allah SWT are abundant. Although studies explaining the scarcity of resources in Islam have been conducted, existing studies do not connect with the evidence found in Surah al-Asr. Imam Syafi'i stated that if Muslims contemplated the contents of this surah, its guidance would suffice them. This study aims to analyse the scarcity of resources and their allocation based on evidence found in Surah al-Asr. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach, using Surah al-Asr and its interpretation as primary data. Apart from taking the main references from tafseer books, interpretation is also carried out by involving economists and Islamic finance practitioners through interviews. The results of the study show that resources are a gift from Allah SWT to humans. Surah al-Asr explains the scarcity of resources in the form of time provided by Allah SWT in this world. Scarcity of resources need to be distributed to achieve maslahat (benefits) in the form of faith, good deeds and mutual assistance between economic agents. Thus, this study recommends a framework of thinking from the revelation taught by God to formulate the scarcity of resources and their allocation in the development of the Islamic economic system.
