Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of mask usage in preventing the spread of Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URTIs) in school environments. The aim of this research is to evaluate how effective mask usage can be in reducing the incidence of URTIs among students and school staff. The method used is a qualitative literature review, analyzing various previous studies that discuss the impact of mask usage in educational contexts. Data were collected from academic journals, health reports, and related publications covering a range of recent years. The results of the study indicate that mask usage significantly reduces the transmission of pathogens causing URTIs in school settings, especially when combined with other hygiene practices such as handwashing and proper cough etiquette. The conclusion of this research confirms that masks are an effective tool in minimizing the spread of URTIs, and their implementation in schools can be a crucial step in maintaining the health of students and staff. This study recommends the widespread adoption of mask-wearing policies in schools, particularly during flu season or in situations of respiratory disease outbreaks.

Abstract

Mining is a job that has many dangerous risks starting from digging (mining), searching, using, processing and distributing the excavated products (coal, geothermal, gas, minerals and oil). The negative impact of landscape modification and land clearing activities influence on the economy, social structure of society and ecology. Starting from the impact of ecological decarbonation such as decreasing soil fertility, decreasing water quality, landscape changes, pollution and decreasing air quality. Meanwhile, the social effects of mining are small, namely conflicts between owners and communities, shifts in patterns. thought, and the decline in public health. The health impacts of mining include exposure to ISPA and poor skin conditions. This research was made with the aim of determining the factors causing the risk of occupational hazards in mining. The source of this information is via "Google Scholar" with the year of publication from 2018-2023. This research uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR)

Abstract

Background: Pregnant women are susceptible to anemia, because during pregnancy, especially at the end of pregnancy, a hemodilution process occurs. Anemia during pregnancy has long-term and short-term impacts. The factor that influences the compliance of pregnant women in consuming blood supplement tablets is the mother's knowledge. Method: Cross-sectional analytical research design. Sample selection used homogeneous purposive sampling. The research sample was 52 people. Bivariate chi square analysis. Results: the majority of respondents had less knowledge, 22 respondents (42.3%), most respondents did not regularly consume Fe tablets, 31 respondents (59.6%), almost all pregnant women who had less knowledge were irregular in consuming blood supplement tablets, 19 people (36.5%), a small number of pregnant women who have sufficient knowledge regularly about consuming blood supplement tablets are 10 people (19.2%). Meanwhile, a small percentage of pregnant women who have good knowledge regularly consume blood supplement tablets (15.4%). The results of the chi square test with p value = 0.003 showed a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and regular consumption of blood supplement tablets. Conclusion: Midwives are expected to place more emphasis on counseling regarding how to consume blood supplement tablets, especially drinks that can block iron absorption, risk factors for anemia, causes of anemia and treatment of anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that occurs in the lower abdomen and spreads to the back, waist, pelvis, upper thighs, and calves. The cause of dysmenorrhea is an increase in prostaglandin levels so that the contractility of the uterine muscle is ischemic as a result of the vasoconstrictive effect produced by prostaglandins. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) the prevalence of dysmenorrhea in adolescents is 90% consisting of 75% -80% primary dysmenorrhea and 10% - 15% experiencing secondary dysmenorrhea, while data from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) prevalence of primary dysmenorrhea in Malaysia (69.4%), Thailand (84.2%), and Indonesia (65%). The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia in 2018 was 64.25% consisting of 54.89% primary dysmenorrhea and 9.36% secondary dysmenorrhea. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of administering avocado juice (Persea americana Mill) on reducing the rate of primary dysmenorrhea in first-level students of applied undergraduate study programs at the Indonesian Ministry of Health Polytechnic in Medan in 2023.The type of research used was Quasi Experiment with One Group Pretest and Posttest design. The sample in the study amounted to 30 people. The results of the research on the experimental group obtained a decrease in menstrual pain scale with an average of 2.66. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon test with a 95% level of confidence show a Sig (2-tailed) value of <0.05, which means that there is an effect of giving avocado juice on a decrease in primary dysmenorrhea in first level female students of the Bachelor of Applied Midwifery Study Program, Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan in 2023. It is expected that Poltekkes Kemenkes Medan to be able to utilize avocado fruit which is processed into juice in reducing menstrual pain in female students and for future researchers to be able to use my thesis as a reference.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is very dangerous because it can result in death, so it needs serious attention. One of the efforts to prevent cervical cancer in women of fertile age (WUS) is by conducting a visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA) test. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the low number of IVA examinations at the Margorejo Pati Community Health Center. Cervical cancer is the fourth highest cancer in women with an estimated 570,000 new cases in 2018 which represents 6.6% of all female cancers. The high mortality rate from cervical cancer globally can be reduced through prevention, early diagnosis, effective screening and treatment programs. As of 2016, VIA coverage in Indonesia was 4.34%, which is still far from the national target of 10% at the end of 2015. In Indonesia, cervical cancer is still the cancer with the second largest number of sufferers after breast cancer. The incidence of new cases of cervical cancer according to GLOBOCAN data, 2018 for women in Indonesia is around 32,469 cases (17.2%) with a death rate of 18,279 (8.8%). The Global Burden of Cancer Study (Globocan) from the World Health Organization (WHO) noted that the total cancer cases in Indonesia in 2020 reached 396,914 cases and the total deaths were 234,511 cases. According to the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI), one of the causes of the high number of cancer cases in Indonesia is environmental conditions that continue to produce carcinogens, such as cigarettes, processed meat, etc. Other causes that also influence include the habit of staying up late, lack of exercise, and eating too much. As a form of cancer prevention and control in Indonesia, especially breast cancer and cervical cancer, the Ministry of Health has made several efforts such as early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer in women aged 30-50 years using the Visual Inspection method with Acetic Acid (IVA).

Abstract

Craniotomy is a neurosurgical procedure for treating diseases or disorders in the head or brain. The craniotomy procedure can cause side effects in the form of pain. Pain is a sensation that arises due to tissue damage, involving a person's physical, emotional and mental reactions. Pain management is a non-pharmacological treatment used in the health world to reduce pain after patients undergo medical procedures. One of the pain management used in this case study is finger grip. This study aims to implement evidence-based practice of the finger grip method to reduce pain. This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. This study involved a patient who had undergone craniotomy surgery. Data was collected through interviews and document study. Data processing is carried out using pain scale measurements and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature. The instruments used were books, pens and pain measurement scale paper. This case study shows that the finger grip technique is effective in reducing pain in patients who are experiencing pain. This is proven by the change in the level of pain when the finger grip management technique was applied for 3 days of application which decreased significantly. The results of the case study show that pain management using the finger grip technique is effective in reducing pain in patients, resulting in a significant reduction in pain scale

Organizational commitment is one of the main factors that influence how human resource planning will be taken. This is inseparable from the influence of organizational commitment in many areas of human resource management. On the other hand, personality that influences organizational commitment is an essential part that is inherent in every individual that makes it difficult to change. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of individual personality on organizational commitment which indirectly affects organizational human resource planning. From the results obtained, personality in general has a significant influence on organizational commitment. However, a more in-depth study is needed using each personality theory and specific organizational fields.

Abstract

This counseling focuses on the lack of awareness among teenagers about their body health, where up to now teenagers still seem to be indifferent to their body health. This is because teenagers now tend to prefer consuming fast food over healthy food. The aim of this counseling is to make teenagers aware of efforts to maintain body health by reducing consumption of fast food and to find out the reasons why teenagers don't like healthy food and are reluctant to consume it. This counseling was carried out because it was motivated by teenagers who tend to prefer consuming fast food compared to vegetables or other healthy foods. This extension uses quantitative methods by measuring the extent to which they understand about fast food and healthy food to find the necessary data. From the results found in the field, some teenagers prefer to consume fast food compared to healthy food. An obstacle to implementing a healthy lifestyle is that teenagers tend to prefer flavored foods or drinks rather than foods such as vegetables or water. So we as health promoters must be able to provide motivation, support and examples for teenagers to eat healthy food and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Critical patients are patients who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because they have lost consciousness, one of the reasons being respiratory failure. In patients with respiratory failure who have an ETT installed and connected to a mechanical ventilation device, there can be a buildup of phlegm/secretions in the bronchi and alveoli area so that the patient's airway can be disrupted, so an effective intervention is suction. In the suction process, hyperoxygenation can be carried out first to maintain oxygen saturation levels within normal limits. To overcome airway clearance in patients who experience ineffective airway clearance nursing problems and describe nursing care. The method used in this research is a case study that describes the nursing care of a patient who had an Endotraceal Tube (ETT) installed who experienced ineffective airway clearance. The results of the assessment of the three patients experienced problems with ineffective airway clearance and hyperoxygenation was carried out in the open suction process to maintain oxygen saturation values ??within normal limits. The results obtained showed changes in oxygen saturation before and after the open suction procedure. It is hoped that the provision of hyperoxygenation intervention in the open suction process can be carried out according to the SOP so that complications do not occur.
