International Journal of Language and Ubiquitous Learning (IJLUL) is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to issues related to foreign and second language teaching/learning and how Ubiquitous Learning can be used to enhance language teaching and learning. Its primary goal is to disseminate scholarly information on issues related to language teaching research. Particular Attention is paid to problems associated with foreign and second language instruction. IJLUL publishes articles and book reviews in English. Articles which have a sound theoretical base with a visible practical application which can be generalised will be prioritised. There will be 4 issues per year of IJLUL a year, appearing in the months of Macrh, June, September, and December. Published in both hardcopy and softcopy, IJLUL utilises Open Journal System (OJS) to allow it to reach a wider audience from different parts of the globe. The journal publishes state-of-art papers in fundamental theory, experiments, and simulation, as well as applications, with a systematic proposed method, sufficient review on previous works, expanded discussion, and concise conclusion. As our commitment to the advancement of science and technology, the IJLUL follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Submitted papers must be written in English for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two international reviewers.

Abstract

Background. This discussion is about the use of canva software as a thematic learning video for Class V Semester I Theme two Subtheme 1 Learning three at State Elementary School 05 IX Koto, Dharmasraya Regency Purpose The purpose of this research is to find out the development of students' needs for learning media in the form of animated videos using the Canva application in learning Social Studies (IPS). Method. The analysis carried out is to find out the use of media at the time of the teaching and learning process in Social Studies lessons online or virtually. The instrument used in this study uses a questionnaire or questionnaire with quantitative data types and is a closed questionnaire. This questionnaire is distributed via google form in the form of a link that students must fill out virtually. Results. The results of this analysis show that from 10 educators and 163 students in class IV (four) in nine elementary schools (SD) in Jakarta and Wonogiri prove that 90% of teachers state that they need and agree to use animated video media based on canva applications that are interesting, 90% of educators say they need and agree to use animated video media based on canva applications that are good and 83.4% of students say they need to use canva application video media in learning social studies (Social Studies). Conclusion. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there should be a development of animated video media based on the canva application in social studies learning.

Abstract

Background. Accelerating the mastery of a second language is a challenge for the majority of students and academics. Interactive applications for learning foreign languages that look attractive, the material is appropriate, easy aka practical, muted and accelerative are certainly very much needed and sought after. I have distributed and researched this Arabee application made in Turkish during arabic learning at the Ulul Albab campus of Universitas Islam Negeri Malang. Purpose. This study aims to introduce and see the response to the Arabee Arabic language learning application. Method. The data collection method used by researchers is dominated by questionnaires. This research was structured with qualitative methods. The research sample was taken from various students of Islamic Universities and Arabic language activists in the country. Results. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the arabee application (alifbee now) is so captivating. The systematic learning topics raised in this application are appropriate and closely related to current trends. The use of this application is easy to operate. It is hoped that this application can appear in the future in the Indonesian-Arabic version. Conclusion. The appearance of the arabee or alifbee application has captured many hearts, especially campus academics at the university / institute level in Indonesia. The systematic learning topics raised in this application, judging from the respondents' input, have a good level of suitability and relevance and or are very related to current trends and life.

Abstract

Background. This research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of Arabic language learning program management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Focusing on the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring, the research aims to improve the quality of Arabic language learning and ensure conformity with the vision and mission of the madrasah. Purpose. The study aims to evaluate and improve the management of Arabic language learning program at Madrasa Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The focus is on optimizing the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of the program to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in achieving the vision and mission of Arabic language education in the madrasah.. Method. This descriptive qualitative research aims to find out the management of the Arabic language program at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Data collection uses interviews with the principal, observation, and documentation about the management of Arabic language programs at madrasah tsanawiyah  Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Results. Madrasah Tsanawiyah  Fadhilah uses the functions of program management studies in implementing the Arabic language learning program for all students so that this program runs effectively and efficiently, namely: 1) Planning the Arabic language learning program in preschool children through the needs identification stage. 2) Organizing in this school is the coach as the head of the foundation who holds the highest power. 3) The implementation of the Arabic language learning program in preschool children is by preparing teachers, making learning process plans (RPP). Conclusion. The success of the Arabic language learning program at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Fadhilah Pekanbaru hinges on effective management functions. Consistency with the foundation's vision and mission is maintained through thorough planning, well-organized implementation, and direct supervision, highlighting the critical role of management in program success.

Abstract

Background. This research explores the background of the importance of learning Arabic, a Semitic language with over 280 million speakers as a first language. Influenced by aspects of religiosity and internationality, Arabic has a significant role in culture, Islamic religion and international relations. Purpose. This research aims to understand the role and urgency of Arabic in a global context, covering religious, cultural and diplomatic aspects. It aims to analyze the development of the Arabic language from historical aspects to contemporary developments, as well as identify its impact as an international language involving non-Muslims. This research also intends to explore a deeper understanding of the importance of learning Arabic outside the religious context, focusing on its functional diversity and use in the modern world. Method. The research method involves literature analysis, Arabic language learning needs survey, and implementation case studies in educational institutions to understand the urgency and function of Arabic language learning. Results. The importance of learning Arabic for Muslims is reflected in three main aspects: the understanding of Islamic teachings, the unification of Muslims, and human civilization. Arabic is the main source of knowledge, especially in understanding Islamic religious sources. Moreover, it plays a key role in uniting the global Muslim community, facilitating communication and enhancing unity. Conclusion. There are many benefits that will be gained if Muslims learn Arabic. Among them, first, fahmul Islam (understanding Islamic teachings). By mastering Arabic, of course it will be very easy for us to understand most of Islamic teachings. Because the sources of Islamic teachings (the Koran, hadith, and books written by ulama) use Arabic. Allah SWT said, "Indeed, We made the Qur'an in Arabic so that you understand.

Abstract

Background. This study describes the madrasah education strategy to build student discipline at the private madrasah aliyah amaliyah tanjung tiga. Purpose. The purpose of the research is to inform and educate readers that formal educational institutions, namely madrasah, have the ability to shape the character of a disciplined student. Method. This type of research is qualitative research that seeks to describe social phenomena that are developing in the masses today. The data collection techniques used are observation and unstructured interviews, then the data is analyzed objectively and described scientifically by following the procedures for writing scientific papers. Results. The research results found are as follows:  First, private madrasah aliyah amaliyah tanjung tiga teachers on various occasions always educate students to always comply with the rules and regulations that apply in the madrasah environment.  Second, private madrasah aliyah amaliyah tanjung tiga teachers always provide exemplary examples of discipline to students so that they become role models for them. Third, private madrasah aliyah amaliyah tanjung tiga teachers always carry out internal supervision of the character of students and student discipline, if there are still students who are not disciplined, madrasah teachers conduct early identification of the triggers for these students to become undisciplined Fourth, the head of the private madrasah aliyah amaliyah tanjung tiga conducts periodic evaluations to all madrassa residents which aim to improve things that must be improved for the next day. Fifth, efforts to establish student discipline are carried out in persuasive ways. Conclusion. Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Amaliyah Tanjung Tiga applies an educational approach in enforcing student discipline. Sanctions are educational in nature, including assignments, written reports to parents, suspension, and temporary or permanent deactivation. The habituation of disciplinary attitudes involves arriving on time, homework, manners, and development activities, with optimal support from students' families.

Abstract

Background. Computer-based media enhances material acceptance and retention, facilitating teachers in efficient material storage and direct student engagement. Utilizing visuals and audio, it directly appeals to sight and hearing senses. Hence, the research titled "Effect of Computer-based Media Proficiency on Attention in Islamic Religious Education for Class VIII at Public Junior High School 2 Sidrap" is pertinent. Purpose. Based on some of these definitions both linguistically and in terms, teachers can be understood as people who are responsible for the development of students. Where the task of a teacher is to educate, namely to strive for the development of all the potential of students, both cognitive potential, affective potential and psychomotor potential. Method. This field research employs direct data collection and observation from respondents, falling under the quantitative category for obtaining objective, valid, and reliable numerical or scaled data. Utilizing associative research methods, its focus lies in establishing relationships between two or more variables. Results. The distributed questionnaires among students at Public Junior High School 2 Sidrap Regency revealed diverse attitudes toward the teacher's proficiency in utilizing computer-based learning media for Islamic Religious Education. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed to present and summarize the data through frequency distribution tables, aiming to provide a comprehensive overview aligned with the research objectives and variable descriptions. Conclusion. The study concludes that, based on questionnaire responses from 97 participants at Public Junior High School 2 Sidrap Regency, the teacher's proficiency in utilizing computer-based media for Islamic Religious Education learning (variable X) is at 79.9%, categorizing it as moderate. This determination is derived from a ratio of 7444 to 9312, signifying the identified criterion.
