Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of vanilla farmers related to the level of application of cultivation technology in vanilla farming, examine the level of application of cultivation technology in vanilla farming, and examine the relationship between characteristics and the level of application of cultivation technology in vanilla farming by farmers. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study were all vanilla farmers in Sapuran District. The analytical method used is class interval width formula, Rank Spearman Correlation Coefficient Test (rs) at 95% confidence level. Based on the research results, the level of application of cultivation technology in vanilla farming by farmers in the aspects of seeding, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest is in the medium category, while the planting aspect is in the low category. The characteristics of farmers for the age variable are included in the moderate category. The land area is in the medium category with an area of between 100m2-600m2. The level of formal education is included in the moderate category, namely junior high school and high school graduation. Farmers' experience in cultivating vanilla is in the medium category, namely for 3-8 years. The intensity of counseling is in the low category, namely <1-3 times a year. The variable characteristics of vanilla farmers in Sapuran District, Wonosobo Regency, which are significantly related to the level of application of cultivation technology in vanilla farming, namely land area and experience, are not significantly related, namely age, level of education, and intensity of counseling. Keywords: Application Level, Cultivation Technology, Vanilla

Abstract

This study aims to understand the effects of biocharcoal and manure interactions on pH, CEC, C, K soils and the growth and production of red pepper plants on ultisol soils and to understand the independent effects of biocharcoal charcoal and chicken manure on pH, CEC K, C, K soils and growth and production The red chili pepper plant in the soil of the ultisol. This study used the Randomized Group Design (RDB) in factorial patterns. The first factor, Biocharanganese consists of three levels: B0 = without the addition of biocharangium B1 = 300 g polybag-1 B2 = 600 g polybag-1 The second factor is that chicken manure consists of 3 levels, namely A0= without giving chicken manure, A1=100g polybag-1, A2=200g polybag-1. Research results show that the delivery of biocharcoal and chicken manure can improve the chemical properties of pH, CEC, organic-c except available-k are available and have no effect on the growth and production of red chili peppers while for the growth and production of red chili peppers only self-supplying chicken manure has a better effect on the plant height, number of branches, number of fruit and weight at 200 g of polybag-1 (A2).Keywords: soil chemistry, charcoal biocharcoal, chicken manure, red pepper, Ultisol

Abstract

This study aims to determine some of the physical and chemical properties of the soil on different lands in Lasori village Mawasangka Timur district cental Buton District. Soil samples were analyzed at the UPT. University integrated laboratory halu oleo. This research is a descriptive study using the observation method, namely taking samples in the field and analyzing them in thelaboratory to obtion quantitative data. Point determination is carried out using a random method sampling. The land used is a corn sample point and cassava sample point. There were 6 sample units from different land to represent 1 land. The results showed that the physical and chemical properties of the soil on different land in Lasori village Mawasangka Timur District central Buton Tengah. The parameter were very high that becomes the limiting factor for physical properties is bulk density with 1,00 g/m3 – 1,36g/m3 with low – medium criteria. The soil textures are dusty loam and sandy loam. Porosity with 48.12% - 62,18%, diamond not good. While limiting the factor for chemical properties is soil pH with a value of 6,38 – 7,68, a dlighty acidic to slightly alkaline content of C-organic with a vaule of 2,27% - 5,28% moderate-high index and KTK with a value of 35,26 me/100g – 58,36 me/100g with a high – very high index. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has limited physical encounters and necessitated social distancing. This causes CV. Goodplant Indonesia conducts online hydroponic training as an alternative for participants to continue to gain knowledge and skills in hydroponics without having to meet face-to-face. This research aims to analyze communication strategies, supporting and inhibiting elements, and the effectiveness of online hydroponic training during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Determination of informants was done by purposive sampling. Data validity uses triangulation of sources and techniques. The results stated that the communication strategy carried out by CV. Goodplant Indonesia in hydroponic training during the Covid-19 pandemic is by implementing several stages, namely getting to know the audience through the hydroponic training registration form to find out the background and needs of the trainees, compiling messages based on the needs of the participants, using educational and persuasive methods, and utilizing new media in the form of Zoom Meeting, WhatsApp, and website. The supporting elements of the online hydroponic training CV. Goodplant Indonesia are the suitability of the message to the needs of the participants, the competence of the training mentor, the delivery media, and the openness of the participants. The inhibiting elements consist of technical barriers in the form of signal interference and errors in the application, semantic barriers in the form of unfamiliar scientific terms in hydroponics, and behavioral barriers in the form of limited interaction and the presence of distractions due to other activities during the training. Online hydroponic training by CV. Goodplant Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic was effective. This is in terms of cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. However, offline or face-to-face training remains the main preference for participants. Keywords: Communication Strategy, Covid-19 Pandemic, New Media, Online Training, Hydroponics

Abstract

If marginal land is less productive, if it can be resolved, it can be used as productive land for agriculture. This study aims to analyze the effect of applying conservation tillage techniques and a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers on soil chemical properties on marginal land and maize production. This research was conducted in Jambi Outer City District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province, from January to April 2021 using a randomized block design with 2 treatments, namely doses of organic fertilizer and soil processing techniques. The first treatment has 5 levels, and the second treatment has 3 levels. There were 15 treatment combinations, each repeated 3 times. Parameters observed were corn plant height, weight of corn cobs, weight of dry shelled seeds, Soil pH, Soil C-Organic content, soil nitrogen content, soil phosphorus content, soil potassium content, exchange capacity cation, base saturation. The results showed that the application of conservation tillage techniques and a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers had a significant effect on corn plant height 45 DAP, corn cob weight, soil pH, C-Organic soil, soil phosphorus content, soil potassium content, cation exchange capacity.
