Abstract

This study measures the influence of public perception and the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) on the image of the Prabowo–Gibran administration in Berau Regency. In political communication, the MBG program is viewed not only in terms of its implementation but also in how it is perceived by the public and communicated by the government. This study is motivated by the existence of both pros and cons regarding the new leadership and the challenges faced by the new government's image, particularly in programs that have not yet been fully realized, especially in areas such as Berau Regency, which is geographically quite distant from the centre of government. The objective of this study is to measure the influence of public perception and the implementation of the MBG program on the government's image. The method used is quantitative, with a survey method. The sample consists of 100 respondents selected through stratified random sampling in Berau Regency. The results indicate that public perception does not have a significant influence on the government's image. Conversely, the MBG program partially has a strong influence. However, when tested simultaneously, both contribute significantly to forming a positive image of the government. These findings indicate that narratives and strategic communication regarding programs that have not yet been fully implemented can still influence the government's image. In Political PR, these results highlight the importance of effective political communication and make theoretical and practical contributions to the development of political communication strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between demographics, communication needs, and social resilience of communities in the core area of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), specifically in Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. This study used a survey method with a quantitative correlational approach. The sample consisted of 95 respondents randomly selected from a population of 2,094 households in three villages: Pemaluan, Bumi Harapan, and Bukit Raya. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, with variables of communication needs (cognitive, affective, and integrative dimensions) and social resilience (persistence, strength, optimism, and empathy). Data analysis used the Pearson correlation test and the Kruskal–Wallis test to examine the relationship between demographic variables and social resilience. The findings indicated a significant correlation between education level and social resilience (H = 8.681; p = 0.034), suggesting that education enhances the community's adaptive capacity. In contrast, gender (p = 0.932) and participation in village meetings (p = 0.201) did not show significant differences in the level of social resilience. Furthermore, communication needs had a positive and significant relationship with social resilience (r = 0.249; p = 0.015). Among its dimensions, integrative needs showed a significant contribution independently (p = 0.011; r² = 0.261), while the cognitive and affective dimensions were not significant when tested separately. These results validate that addressing communication needs, especially the integrative aspect associated with social interaction and community cohesion, is essential for enhancing community resilience in regions experiencing swift transformation. Therefore, a transparent, participatory, and inclusive public communication strategy is a key factor in supporting social resilience and the development aspirations of the National Capital.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze several da'wah content on Abu Marlo's Instagram account created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The approach used is descriptive qualitative. Analysis using Roland Barthes' semiotics. In this discussion, the author analyzes several images from Abu Marlo's Instagram account using denotative, connotative, and mythic meanings. The research findings indicate that the image content used in Abu Marlo's preaching not only serves as a visual medium but also carries strong symbolic and ideological meaning. Therefore, it can be concluded that Islamic preaching through image content on Abu Marlo's Instagram account is an effective form of visual communication in conveying Islamic values contextually and attractively. This research shows that a semiotic approach can reveal layers of meaning in digital preaching content. This is also related to contributions in the field of communication in the digital era, where technological developments are currently accelerating, leading to the emergence of the term "contemporary da'wah."
