Abstract

Globalization has resulted in rapid changes in various fields and brought many impacts, especially on Islamic education. This study aims to determine the globalization of Islamic education thought of Qodri Azizy, which comes from the question, ‘How is Qodri Azizy’s transformative and futuristic thought? This research has an urgency and uniqueness because Qodri Azizy is an academic in law as his scientific discipline, but his contributions are very interdisciplinary and even greatly influence his contribution to Islamic higher education. This is the embryo of the birth of the Unity of Sciences paradigm at UIN Walisongo. The intellectual biography research used library research with text analysis using a related text analysis approach. The research found: (1) transformative Islamic education ideas of Qodri Azizy (a) religious education and freedom of thought, (b) building and teaching environmental ethics, (c) good deeds and generosity, and (d) creating a culture of useful and productive friendship; (2) the role of Islamic education in globalization era according to Qodri Azizy (a) designing a pattern of development of IAIN Walisongo by opening general scientific discipline with a foundation of Islamic knowledge, (b) studying Islam with social sciences approach, (c) change school management with community-based education, and (d) change education management in IAIN Walisongo toward modern management with an Islamic basis. To the public in general, it is hoped that they will be able to take advantage of Qodri Azizy’s Islamic education ideas as part of the capital to equip the next generation who are Islamic and able to face the changing era.

Abstract

Nikah-Kawin, a deeply rooted traditional marriage in West Java, has been passed down through generations in indigenous communities. This marriage differs from conventional marriage practices in several ways. In particular, women are given greater rights of choice, with some even taking on the responsibility of reciting the marriage vows. The article aimed to explore the gender-responsive construction in the nikah-kawin tradition of West Java communities through the concept of qiwamah. Using empirical legal research methods, this study utilizes primary data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal a gender-responsive construction shaped by the principles of qiwamah embedded in the nikah-kawin tradition of West Java communities. Interestingly, this constructed gender dynamic contributes to the formation of an egalitarian household environment. The presence of traditional guidelines upheld by these communities underscores their commitment to respecting and valuing women within the societal framework. This exploration highlighted how the uniqueness of nikah-kawin not only endures but also fosters a balanced and egalitarian approach to household life.

Abstract

The distribution of inheritance by Islamic law is carried out equitably, namely by allocating shares to both males and females. Nevertheless, the current discussion surrounding the allocation of inheritance is facing challenges, particularly about the inequitable division of inheritance, where two males receive twice as much as one female. This disparity is perceived as unjust by certain individuals. Various experts have extensively analyzed both male and female issues. This analysis provides a thorough examination of Muḥammad Shaḥrūr's ideology, focusing on its normative legal aspects, particularly about gender and legal concepts. As per Muḥammad Shaḥrūr, Allah assigns at least fifty percent of a man's share to a woman. This minimum level applies in cases where the mother does not provide any financial support for the family's maintenance. Nevertheless, if women actively participate in creating revenue and contribute to the family's financial support, their share of contribution becomes comparable to that of males. Muḥammad Shaḥrūr contends that both men and women can obtain equal portions of inheritance within the framework of gender and legal principles. However, this equality is dependent on certain conditions and must not violate the specified limits set by Islamic law.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Arabic language learning patterns based on microlearning on the Arabiyatuna YouTube account and to evaluate the repetition of materials on the account based on Hermann Ebbinghaus's theory. The research employs a qualitative method with descriptive analysis techniques. An in-depth study was conducted on the Arabiyatuna YouTube account, which discusses Arabic language learning, linking it to the microlearning concept and Ebbinghaus's forgetting curve. The results show that the Arabiyatuna account presents the four Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in a microlearning format. However, material repetition is still suboptimal, as it is done only one to three times with intervals that are too long between repetitions.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran peran pendidikan Islam terhadap perubahan social yang terjadi dalam struktur dan fungsi masyarakat. Pendekatan dalam peneltian ini adalah penelitian  kepustakaan.   Pendidikan merupakan sistem  dan cara meningkatkan  kualitas hidup manusia dalam segala aspek kehidupan manusia. Bagaimana agar pendidikan itu tidak hanya hanyut oleh dinamika perubahan, tetapi ia mampu memerankan dirinya sebagai agen perubahan itu sendiri. Islam sebagai agama rahmat bagi seluruh alam, tentu sangat memperhatikan keadaan masyarakat. Hal ini terlihat dari bukti sejarah, bagaimana Nabi Muhammad SAW membangun  masyarakat Arab. Kemudian terus berkembang hingga Islam tersebar ke seluruh penjuru dunia. Hasil dari kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa Islam membangun masyarakat melalui pendidikan, karena proses pendidikan merupakan salah satu cara yang efektif dalam membangun umat. Dalam pendidikan Islam selalu memperhatikan dua sudut pandang dalam segala aspek, seperti aspek lahiriyah dan bathiniyah, aspek individual dan sosial, duniawi dan ukhrowi, yaitu terbentuknya  insan kamil.Kata kunci: peran, pendidikan Islam, perubahan sosial.THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION TOWARDS SOCIAL CHANGE. This study aims to find out the role of Islamic education towards social change that occurred in the structure and function of the community. This study uses library research. Education  is a system and way to improve the quality of human life in all aspects of human life. Education  as an aspect of life that cannot be separated from the community. How to make the education that not only strewn by the dynamics  change, but it was able to portray as an agent of change itself. Islam as a religion of mercy for all of nature certainly pays more attention to the circumstances of the community. This  is apparent from the evidence of history, how the Prophet Muhammad  built the Arabic community. Then continue to evolve until Islam spreads into all over the world. The result oh this articel show that Islam built the community  through education, because the process of education is one of the effective ways in building people. In Islamic education always pays attention to two viewpoints in all aspects, such as lahiriyah and bathiniyah aspects, individual  and social aspects, worldly and hereafter, i.e. the formation of ‘insan kamil’ or perfect human.Keywords: role, Islamic education, social change.

Abstract

I Must Betray You (2022), a literary work by Ruta Sepetys, is a touching drawing of the painful experience suffered by Romanian civilians under Nicolae Ceauşescu’s regime in 1989. Through a rich tapestry of policies, regulations, and prohibitions, Ceauşescu bound Romanian life to nuda vita. This study aims to analyzes how Ruta Sepetys’ I Must Betray You illustrated the sovereign power that restrains Romanian civilians’ lives and how the civilians detached from nuda vita and the sovereign power. It employs a qualitative descriptive approach by drawing on the theoretical framework put forth by Giorgio Agamben. The framework encompasses crucial concepts such as sovereign power, the state of exception, and nuda vita. Notably, the sovereign power represents an authority to create laws but remains unbound. The state of exception refers to a blurred zone of “law and life”. Besides, nuda vita embodies the condition in which an individual’s life is vulnerable to death without being considered a sacrifice. The study reveals two primary findings. First, restrict any criticism directed at Ceauşescu, exiting Romania, gathering in groups of more than three individuals, engaging in conversations with foreigners, possessing typewriters, and many other prohibitions. The authorities also exercised rigid control over civilians’ basic needs, from access to electricity to food, and imposed strict laws. The sovereign power restrained Romanian civilians’ lives through various methods to instill fear, such as utilizing Phillips, i.e., tapping devices, widely spread within households. Second, the civilians’ revolts against the sovereign power and nuda vita were manifested through strategies like adopting a double-agent role, utilizing knowledge as propaganda, and building allies with soldiers. The novelty of this study proposes a path towards detachment from the sovereign power and nuda vita, particularly relevant to contemporary debates.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pelaksanaan pembelajaran tahfiz al-Qur’an pada siswa di Madrasah Tsanawiyah DDI Sentani Kabupaten Jayapura dan menganalisa perubahan karakter siswa setelah mengikuti program tahfiz al-Qur’an di Madrasah Tsanawiyah DDI Sentani Kabupaten Jayapura. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan pedagogik. Objek penelitian adalah siswa, guru tahfiz, guru kelas, kepala madrasah, dan orang tua siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis kualitatif Miles dan Huberman, yang melipiti reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Pertama, Implementasi pembelajaran tahfiz al-Qur’an telah memenuhi standar manajemen pembelajaran yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran gabungan antara lain; talaqqi, takrir, muroja’ah, dan iktibar.  Kedua, Implementasi pembelajaran tahfiz al-Qur’an mampu merubah karakter siswa menjadi lebih baik. Karakter yang menonjol yaitu: religius, jujur, disiplin, mandiri, percaya diri, sopan/santun, dan tanggung jawab.   Abstract This study aims to analyze the implementation of learning tahfiz al-Qur'an to students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah DDI Sentani, Jayapura Regency and analyze changes in student character after participating in the tahfiz al-Qur'an program at Madrasah Tsanawiyah DDI Sentani, Jayapura Regency. This research is a qualitative research using a pedagogic approach. The objects of research are students, tahfiz teachers, class teachers, madrasa heads, and parents of students. Data collection is done by in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman's qualitative analysis technique, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: First, the implementation of learning tahfiz al-Qur'an meets learning management standards, namely planning, implementing, and evaluating learning by using combined learning methods including; talaqqi, takrir, muroja'ah, and iktibar. Second, the implementation of learning tahfiz al-Qur'an is able to change the character of students for the better. The prominent characters are: religious, honest, disciplined, independent, confident, polite/polite, and responsible.

Abstract

The majority of people in Indonesia have periodically attended elementary school, junior high school, high school, and university-level formal education programs. It should go without saying that those who have previously gotten education do not generally have good moral character. There are currently a growing number of offenses that transgress religious principles. As a result, character education for both students and teachers is required, and this can be done by including character traits into the formal curriculum. The implementation of learning processes, execution procedures, and assessment processes can accomplish this. The 2013 curriculum includes character education. The emphasis on learning includes affective and psychological learning in addition to cognitive learning. Due of this, character education is required. As a result, character education must be incorporated into every topic taught in formal schools, including the study of Arabic. The goal of this study is to ascertain the planning for integrating character education into the study of Arabic, the actual integrating of character education into the study of Arabic, the evaluation of that integration, as well as the effects of that integrating character education on the students at Muhammadiyah 4 Samarinda Elementary School. A descriptive qualitative approach is used in this study. Observation, interviewing, and documentation are the methods used to acquire data. Miles and Huberman theory is employed in the data analysis. According to the study's findings, the planning process should have 13 character values, the implementation and evaluation processes should have 13 character values, and the implications should have 11 character values.

Abstract

Komunikasi efektif antara kepala sekolah dan guru merupakan kunci utama dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMP YPKP Sentani Jayapura Papua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah melakukan upaya melalui kerjasama, memberikan contoh, motivasi, dukungan, pembinaan, dan bimbingan kepada guru. Setelah upaya tersebut dilakukan, terjadi peningkatan kinerja guru dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan kehadiran di sekolah. Faktor pendukungnya adalah rasa kebersamaan, komitmen kepala sekolah, keinginan belajar guru, evaluasi, dan insentif. Namun, terdapat faktor penghambat seperti jumlah guru PNS yang sedikit, manajemen waktu yang belum optimal, kemampuan pembawaan, dan lingkungan kerja. Implikasi penelitiannya adalah kepala sekolah perlu lebih memperhatikan komunikasi efektif, menjaga kinerja guru, dan mengatasi faktor penghambat untuk mencapai tujuan sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the competence of administrative staff, the quality of administrative services and to determine the competence of administrative staff in improving administrative services. This research is included in quantitative descriptive research with data collection techniques used are, observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the competencies possessed by administrative staff in improving the quality of administrative services seen from the aspects of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy were categorized as very good. Based on the results that have been found, it can be seen that the average competence possessed by administrative staff is seen from the dimensions of service quality which include tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy  indicates that the competence of his personality It can be seen that the most prominent competence possessed by administrative staff is technical competence while the lowest competence is social competence. The conclusions that can be drawn based on the quality of service seen from the tangibles aspect are that it is necessary to add related facilities, from the reliability aspect, it is good because it has reliability in handling any complaints from students, and is reliable in terms of time and accuracy of service processes. From the aspect of responsiveness, it has been very good because of the mutual communication between administrative staff and administrative staff. Judging from the assurance aspect, there is a guarantee for the security of the service environment as well as a definite guarantee for students provided by administrative staff, while from the empathy aspect, the willingness of the head of administration in serving students is good.
