Abstract

In 2011, stand-up comedy began to appear as new spectrum of Indonesian entertainment industry. All kinds of people start to pursue career as a comic, some of them are people with special needs. Stand-up comedy becomes one of the ways that people with special needs can utilize to develop a potential they might have. This research is focused on discovering the self-actualizing concept of comics with special needs and how they complete the characteristics of selfactualized people. This research is using qualitative approach with case study type of research. After going through analyzing process on the findings, this research comes to conclusion as follows. The sefactualization concept of comics with special needs is a distinctive actualization in self-acceptance, creativity, and humor with further adjustment in autonomy and cultural aspects. The subject’s process to reach the characteristic of a self-actualizing individual is consists of self-acceptance phase in wich subjects questioned their physical condition, feeling inferiority, then later accepting their self by the support of family and realistic perception about their physical condition. Self-acceptance leads subjects to develop their potential and began to reach self-actualization.

Abstract

Science is the arrangement of knowledge about a phenomenon obtained through scientific research methods whose truth has been agreed intersubjectively by a certain scientific community. The ultimate goal of science is to develop theories or paradigms that have functions: description, explanation, control, forecasting, and problem solving related to a phenomenon.

Abstract

This study has a goal to find out how dialectics experienced adolescent with premarital pregnancy. This study uses a qualitative approach. This research model using descriptive qualitative research type. In conducting research, data collection tools that already exist in qualitative methods are semi structured interviews while checking the validity of the findings using member check techniques. The results showed that all participants experienced a process of thinking that was not easy to determine the attitude they should do and the greatest process exists in the adolescent itself, where the teenager experiences a conflict within himself before deciding to take a decision. Adolescents perform a dialectical process in themselves that is related to social relationships such as parents, friends, and couple.

Abstract

Manggarai culture approves aggression for self-protection and self-respect, family or group called culture of honor. This culture is manifested in caci dance, sparring and belis. The attempts to injure opponents in the caci dance are carried out to preserve self respect, village honor, and group honor; Likewise, a fighting match occurs because the Manggarai people do not want the land which is their honor threatened to be taken by someone else. Other forms of culture of honor in Manggarai are the practice of belis, which shows patriarchal culture; men have a role as the main control in family and community life. This legalizes the violence committed by fathers in the family to maintain its reputation for masculinity.

Abstract

Parenting in homeless families in which the parents come from broken home is authoritarian type. However, this can not be generalized to all homeless. Type of parenting homeless, whose parents got divorce influenced by past trauma. In research conducted in the sub-district Sukun and Belimbing in 4 men and women (20–30 years). The research method is case study. Analyzed data using thematic data. Results indicate parenting pattern of subjects A and D are ambiguous type. It is because they let their children do whatever they want to and fulfill to their needs, but still give punishment to them when they deserve it. Parenting pattern of subjects B and C are permissive type. This is because they let children do whatever they want to and fulfill to their needs without giving any punishment.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the career happiness of a single mother working. The model used in this study is a qualitative research method. Data collection uses interviews, observation, and questionnaires to determine the consistency of answers. Data analysis techniques use thematic analysis techniques. To find out the validity of the data by checking the answers during the interview and compared with the answers to the questionnaire. This research was carried out in the city of Malang and Malang district with the number of three single mothers participants. This research is expected to be a new knowledge for both students and the people out there that being a single mother is not easy. A single mother really needs the support and affection of the people around her. For other researchers who want to do research on happiness with single mothers working, researchers should use the background of participants to be the same single mother and the existence of age criteria in the selection of participants so that it can provide better and more diverse research results.
