Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) program on the Qur’anic reading ability of children at Masjid Taqwa Parak Juar. The research aims to identify the extent to which the program improves students’ proficiency in recognizing letters, applying tajwid rules, and reading fluently. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, involving pre- and post-assessments of participants’ reading skills as well as structured observations during the learning process. The sample consisted of children aged 6–12 years who actively attended the TPA sessions. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests to determine significant differences before and after program participation. The findings indicate a marked improvement in accuracy, fluency, and tajwid application among participants, with statistically significant results (p < 0.05). This suggests that the TPA program plays a crucial role in enhancing Qur’anic literacy at the community level. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of structured teaching methods, trained instructors, and consistent practice in achieving optimal learning outcomes for young Qur’an learners. Abstract

The establishment of the Regional Children's Forum in Nusantara Permai Village is a strategic work program aimed at supporting the fulfillment of children's rights and creating a space for children's participation at the village level. This program is implemented with the support of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A), village officials, community leaders, and child representatives from various neighborhood units. Through this forum, children are expected to be able to express their aspirations, organize, and actively participate in regional development processes. The forum's formation was marked by the awarding of pins to core administrators as a symbol of their commitment to championing children's rights and interests. The establishment of the Regional Children's Forum in Nusantara Permai Village is expected to create a child-friendly environment and support the achievement of the Child-Friendly Village program, in accordance with national policy.

Abstract

This community service project aimed to address the issue of bullying among elementary school students through an educational outreach program at SDN 2 Kadungora, Garut Regency. Bullying, which can manifest verbally, physically, socially, and online, has long term negative impacts on children’s psychological well being, academic performance, and social development. The program sought to enhance students’ awareness of bullying, equip teachers and homeroom teachers with preventive strategies, and engage parents in fostering a safe learning environment. The project was conducted using interactive education methods, including presentations, video screenings, role-playing, and group discussions, complemented by commitments from students to create a bullying-free environment. The activities involved 5th- and 6th-grade students, selected due to their developmental stage, which is highly vulnerable to bullying behaviors. Evaluation showed increased student engagement, improved understanding of bullying forms and consequences, and stronger teacher, student, parent collaboration in prevention efforts. The success of this program was reflected in students’ willingness to report bullying, improved empathy, and a visible reduction of bullying behavior in the classroom. This initiative demonstrates that participatory, character-based education is an effective approach for creating a safe and inclusive school culture, and it highlights the importance of early intervention in children’s character development

Abstract

This community service activity took place in Nanjungjaya village, Kersamanah district, Garut Regency with the goal to improve reading interest to MI As-Sibyan students through the establishment of a library in MI As-Sibyan. This activity is carried out by student group KKN 91 UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung as part of the Community Service (KKN) program and used qualitative method through interview, observation and documentation and the implementation phase is divided into three, there are the first phase (early planning), second phase (library preparation), and third phase (library implementation). First phase covers the planning of book donation, socialization, and library decoration. Phase two covers the execution of socialization and library room preparation. Phase three covers the inauguration of the library opening. The result from this activity is with the establishment of the library it will be the strategic step to broaden knowledge access, develop reading interest, and strengthen the learning quality in both the school and local communities. The conclusion from this activity is giving education and facility to improve MI As-Sibyan students’ reading literacy. Keywords: Library, reading interest, community service
