Abstract

A 56-year-old man, an active police officer, complained of acute pain and instability of the right knee. Medical history included an unoperated total rupture of the right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at the age of 23 years and grade 3 right genu osteoarthritis. Comorbidities included obesity (BMI 31.2 kg/m²), hypertension, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, and herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP). Physical examination revealed grade 1 right lateral collateral ligament (LCL) laxity, tenderness at the lateral joint line, limited range of motion, and crepitation. MRI confirmed right ACL rupture, right LCL sprain, medial meniscus tear, and grade 3 osteoarthritis. Conservative management included etoricoxib for pain, febuxostat for hyperuricemia, amlodipine for hypertension, rosuvastatin for dyslipidemia, anti-inflammatory herbal supplements, and omeprazole for gastrointestinal protection. Joint aspiration was performed to reduce effusion, and intra-articular Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy was applied. The patient underwent a three-month physical rehabilitation program in three phases: initial, intermediate, and advanced. Therapeutic modalities included TENS, therapeutic ultrasound, gentle massage, muscle strengthening, proprioceptive, and aerobic exercises. The use of crutches and knee braces was reduced as joint stability and strength improved. During rehabilitation, patients showed significant progress: decreased pain, improved range of motion, muscle strength, and joint stability, and the ability to return to professional activities. The comprehensive approach and interdisciplinary collaboration enabled optimal functional recovery despite the presence of comorbidities and complex medical history.

Abstract

Literature serves as a powerful medium for expressing human emotions, ideas, and experiences, with poetry, prose, and drama being the three primary genres. These genres are distinct in their characteristics, narrative structures, and techniques used to convey their messages. The purpose of this study is to explore the diverse expressions within poetry, prose, and drama, and to understand how they reflect and engage with the complexities of human life and society. A descriptive qualitative research method was applied, involving literature review, data collection from classical and modern literary works, and secondary sources such as theory books and journals. The results show that each genre uniquely portrays emotions, social issues, and human conflicts—poetry using symbolic language and rhythm, prose offering detailed narrative descriptions, and drama expressing tension through dialogue and performance. This study concludes that understanding the expressive qualities of these literary genres enhances our comprehension of human life, culture, and societal values, emphasizing their ongoing relevance in addressing contemporary issues.

Abstract

The implementation of online public services by the Jayapura Regency Government was expected to improve licensing processes by enhancing speed, transparency, and efficiency. However, challenges persist, particularly in remote areas where internet access and digital literacy are limited. This study aims to assess public perception regarding the online licensing services provided by the Jayapura Regency Government and identify the factors affecting service quality. A qualitative approach was used, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis. Key informants, including service users and officers from the DPMPTSP office, were engaged to explore their experiences with online licensing services. The study found that service quality has declined, as indicated by low satisfaction levels among applicants. Issues such as inadequate officer responsiveness, poor communication, lack of infrastructure, and slow internet connectivity were identified as key barriers. Additionally, the absence of prior socialization about the online system further hindered the public’s ability to understand licensing requirements. The research highlights the need for improved training for service officers, better infrastructure, and enhanced community outreach to increase the effectiveness of online licensing services. Addressing these issues is essential for achieving the objectives set by the central government and improving service delivery in Jayapura Regency.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Ragunan Zoo as a medium for wildlife conservation from 1966 to 1993, focusing on its development amidst criticism for prioritizing tourism over conservation. Using historical methodology, the study traces the evolution of Ragunan Zoo from its origins as Planten en Dierentuin during the Dutch colonial era to its transformation into a modern conservation institution. The research highlights key efforts by Ragunan Zoo to address criticism, including the development of animal collections, breeding programs, partnerships with international zoos, and educational initiatives. The research also explores the tangible outcomes of these efforts, such as animal releases, successful breeding programs, and international recognition, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award awarded to Benjamin Galstaun, the zoo's first director. Despite challenges like limited funding and outdated infrastructure, Ragunan Zoo has made significant strides in balancing its roles as a conservation, educational, and recreational institution. The article concludes that Ragunan Zoo's conservation efforts have yielded positive results, contributing to preserving Indonesia's biodiversity while navigating the complexities of its dual role as a tourist attraction and conservation center.
