Abstract

This article presents several fundamental perspectives which are derivatively generated frombuddhism point of view. The peripheral basis of buddhist teaching, ethics, and spiritual goals have longbeen acquainted with the practices of modern education worldwide. The absorbances may representedby the accommodation of practical ethics, values and insights for both management, practical,pedagogocal and educational policies. However, there are many misundersanding and misconceptiontoward the application of buddhist pedagogy in school-system environment, educators‟ behaviors aswell as the outcomes in the curriculum. Therefore, revitalization and re-orientation should be madetowards the on-going practices of today‟s buddhist education and whole stakeholders within. As aframework, buddhist fundamental pedagogy must be able to transform human being and helping themto develop potentials. For long term purpose, buddhist education must also educate spiritualengagement with life, contextual surrounding and social phenomenon for better humanity andspirituality. Finally, as a result, buddhist education should have assigned its goal for positiveoutcomes and regards to the current situation of today‟s livelihood.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study was to determine the level of studentunderstanding of the meaning of the life history of Buddha Gotama. Thepurpose of this study was to determine the extent of students' understanding ofthe meaning of the life history of Buddha Gotama.This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of thisstudy were Buddhist Sunday School students and administrators of BuddhistSunday School in Cetiya Kusala Cetana. This research was conducted fromFebruary to May 2020. Data collection techniques used were in the form ofobservations, interviews, and documentation. Data validity tests includecredibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The data obtainedwere analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models, namely data collection,reduction, display, and conclusion drawing.The results of this study are: 1.) Most Cetiya Kusala Cetana Tegal AngusBuddhist Sunday School students have understood the meaning of the story ofGotama's Buddhist Life. Namely: a) Tells the part of the story like, b) Tells a whocharacter introduces the story of the life history of Buddha Gotama, c) Valuesset by students. 2.) Students feel the positive impact after knowing the meaningof the life story of Gotama Buddha. The students have Mettā feelings. Thestudents' faith in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha became very strong. The lives ofstudents are better.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to describe the form of moral force development for activists of the Student Executive Board of STABN Sriwijaya Tangerang Banten. This research was conducted in Tangerang involving the subject of BEM STABN Sriwijaya Tangerang Banten activists. The selection of subjects was carried out using the snowball throwing method. The research data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation study methods. The research data were analyzed by referring to the Miles Huberman data analysis model which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results showed that activists of BEM STABN Sriwijaya have a good moral force because they have been able to be responsible for their duties and obligations, disciplined, and become role models for other students. The obstacles faced in developing the moral force of BEM STABN Sriwijaya activists include (1) still not having the courage to try new things, (2) the existence of unfavorable influences from associations and social media, and (3) time constraints because they have to divide lectures and organizations well. The development of moral force has a positive impact on the academic ability, social life, and career life of BEM STABN Sriwijaya activists.

Abstract

The precepts/morals ethics that Buddha taught are very relevant to the current situation of theglobalization era. Behaving morally is a condition of self-internalization and strict safeguarding thevirtues and not harming others. Therefore, the precepts become the basis in creating patterns of socialinstitutional management in dealing with various conditions of changes in the modern era faced by theworld community. The institutional world will become safe and peaceful with the presence ofInstitutional Management Based on Buddhist Ethics.In analyzing and dissecting the data of the text referred to using the theory of structuralfunctionalism, hermeneutics, and paticcasamuppada so that it is expected to get a clear understandingto reveal the Institutional Management Based on Buddhist Ethics. It can be seen that based on dataanalysis the texts refer to the pattern of institutional management in forming a harmonious systemand therefore there are conditions that are interrelated to one another. Institutional ManagementBased on Buddhist Ethics is the basis and guide in creating a managerial system that is Buddhist.Institutional management will function properly and correctly on the basis of the behavior of eachindividual in it which is operationally guided by Buddhist morals.90This research was conducted to find out how Institutional Management Based on BuddhistEthics. It is also related to find out the relationship and the interrelationship of the themes of Buddhistteachings in the management of social institutions related to their application. Research data obtainedfrom the identification of texts from the Tipitaka/Tripitaka Scriptures related to institutionalmanagement.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to know the role of aṭṭhasīlanī based on theresponse  of  Buddhists  in  the  construction  of  the  Sunday  Buddhist  School  inTangerang. The types of research used are measures that are used systematically to collect data in conducting research and assisting the creation of scientific work. This paper uses quantitative research methods. The subjects of this study were Buddhist Sunday School students and parents. The object of this research is the role of aṭṭhasīlanī in the construction of the Buddhist Sunday School in Tangerang City. Data collection techniques using survey methods, disseminating questionnaires to students of The Sunday School of Buddha. Data validity techniques use validity and reliability tests. Data analysis techniques use absolute norms. The data analysis in this study was with the help of Microsoft Excel. Then the results of the data processing were described to find out the role of ahasīlani in the construction of the Buddhist Sunday School in Tangerang.  Data collected from 90 respondents showed the average score reached a score of 98.43 obtained from the number of scores divided by the number of respoden. The standard deviation of 12.23 and variance of 149.57 is obtained from the calculation by excell method. From the data also obtained the highest role score of 120 and the lowest role score of 84 out of the number of item scores about as many as 30 questions. The performance score range is 36. The researchers concluded that the role of the aṭṭhasīlanī was very good and active in the construction of the Sunday Buddhist School in Tangerang. The achievement of knowledge and practice of Buddhist religious attitudes was successfully achieved by the students of The Sunday School of Buddha well

Abstract

Penelitian merupakan penelitian survei korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh fraud diamond terhadap integritas akademik mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini melibatkan 104 mahasiswa sebagai sampel yang dipilih menggunakan disproportionate stratified random sampling dari 132 populasi mahasiswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui penggunaan angket fraud diamond yang terdiri atas 48 butir pernyataan dengan memuat dimensi tekanan (pressure), peluang (opportunity), rasionalisasi (rationalization), dan kemampuan (capability) serta angket integritas yang terdiri atas 39 butir pernyataan dengan memuat dimensi kejujuran (honesty), kepercayaan (tirust), keadilan (fairness), rasa hormat (riespect), dan tanggung jawab (responsibility). Keseluruhan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial masing-masing dimensi fraud diamond berpengaruh negatif terhadap integritas akademik. Demikian halnya secara simultan, dimensi fraud diamond berpengaruh terhadap integritas akademik mahasiswa STABN Sriwijaya sebesar 65,40%, sementara 34,60% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak menjadi fokus di dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

The study in this paper suggests the development of integration between Buddhism and general science at the Sriwijaya State Buddhist College (STABN). Conceptualized of belief (Pali: saddhā, Sanskrit: śraddhā) in Buddhism as a scientific spirit built on the Ehipassiko doctrine. Similar to the science of belief that a Buddhist cultivates must be explored and proven to provide enlightenment in human life. This study uses a qualitative method of documentation study in collecting data and processing it. The results of this study indicate that educators have not yet maximally studied as a driving force for scientific development at this institution. This is indicated by the absence of reputable scientific works; training, and the socialization of clear scientific integration in the Buddhist general-religious study program to the teaching staff. It is hoped that this study will provide input to an in-depth study of the integration of general science and Buddhism, especially in the aspects of the curriculum that was developed to produce graduates following the motto of STABN Sriwijaya Excellence, Buddhistic and Character.

Abstract

Buddha Dharma dajarkan oleh Hyang Buddha dan kemudian berkembang dan dikenal manusia diseluruh penjuruh dunia. Setelah Buddha Parinirvana ajaran Buddha mulai pecah dan muncul berbagai aliran dalam agama Buddha. Mahayana berkembang dengan berlandaskan Buddha Dhamma tetapi berkembang mengikuti budaya setempat dan salah satu aliran yang berkembang dalam aliran Mahayana Adalah aliran Sukhavati. Tujuan pelaksanaan penelitan ini adalah untuk mengetahu pemaknaan umat Buddha Vihara Hua Zang Buddhist Learning Center Jakarta ketika mengucapkan Kata Namo A Mi Thuo Fo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Agar data yang diperoleh memuaskan maka penulis melaksanakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi agar data yang didapatkan akurat.Dari penelitian yang dilaksanakan diketahui ada beberapa tujuan umat Buddha melafalkan kata tersebut diantaranya mendapatkan berkah, agar terhidar dari karma buruk, dan pelaksanaan meditasi, demikian juga yang dilaksanakan oleh umat Vihara Hua Zang Buddhist Learning Center Jakarta

Abstract

This research was an ethnographic study with a qualitative approach. It aims to describe siri 'na pacce as a cultural philosophy of the Buginese and Makassarnese to self-regulation of Buddhist students in Makassar. This study involved Buddhist students at the junior and senior high schools in Makassar. The subjects were selected using purposive and snowball throwing methods. The research data were collected by interview, questionnaire distribution, and documentation study. The research data were analyzed with Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive analysis model (data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusions drawing/verification). The results showed that siri' na pacce as a cultural philosophy of the Buginese and Makassarnese had a strong relation to the self-regulation of Buddhist students in Makassar. They had good self-regulation when they had a sufficient understanding of siri' na pacce. It can be seen in the form of (1) avoiding cheating on assignments and answers when carrying out exams and not giving answers when carrying out exams, (2) always maintaining good grades in the learning process, including when doing assignments or taking exams, (3) working hard to get brilliant achievements in school, (4) respecting and respecting teachers and classmates, especially during discussion sessions, greeting teachers politely in the school environment, and obeying the rules set by the school, (5) doing learning activities together without discriminating or being picky and prioritizing togetherness in learning activities, and (6) helping friends who have not mastered the learning material to their abilities, helping friends who experience disaster even though they aren't Buddhist, and learn to put yourself in the shoes of others who are having difficulties or calamity.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is that the internalization of nationalism in Buddhist Religious Education Subjects is unknown. The purpose of this study is to describe the internalization of nationalism insights in Buddhist Religious Education Subjects. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological method. The informants in this study were principals, educators, and 9th grade students of SMPS Perguruan Buddhi Tangerang in the 2022/2023 school year. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is the data analysis technique model of M.B. Miles, A.M. Huberman, and Johny Saldaña (1994). The results in this study show that the internalization of nationalistic insight is defined as a process of stages or series in the introduction, planting, coaching, and strengthening in a sustainable and in-depth information, messages, and noble values concerning nationalism. Teaching materials on nationalistic insight in Buddhist Religious Education subjects are sourced from the Dhammapada book, Paritta book, and Buddhist Religious Education book class IX. The cultivation of knowledge about national insight that has been carried out by educators is by showing politeness, giving greetings to each other at holiday celebrations, greetings of anjali attitude and Namo Buddhaya. Efforts to internalize national insight in Buddhist Education subjects carried out by educators are by introducing, instilling, guiding and strengthening the noble values of Dhamma that are in line with national insight.
