Abstract

Achievements/objectives of mathematics subjects include mastery of understanding mathematical concepts that students need to have. In fact, the ability of class IX students of SMPN 43 Padang in this regard is still relatively low. The cause of this is learning that is still focused on educators. To overcome this, the TAI type cooperative model in learning can be used as a solution. Quasi-experimental is a type of research that uses a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. Meanwhile, 87 students in class IX SMPN 43 Padang make up the population. In selecting sample, the researcher used a simple random sampling method. Class IX.1 was chosen as the experimental class and class IX.3 was chosen as the control class. Based on the hypothesis test with a significant level of ? = 0.05 and obtain a P-value = 0.000. This can be interpreted as a P-value < ? = 0.05 causes to be rejected. This research concludes that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who study with the TAI cooperative learning model is better than students who learn with the conventional learning model in class IX SMPN 43 Padang.Keywords – The cooperative learning model, team assisted individualization, Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts.

Abstract

Problem solving skills in mathematics are crucial. Based on the initial test results of class XII MIPA at SMA Negeri 8 Padang, they are still unable to solve problems correctly according to the indicators. In order to overcome this, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model was implemented. This study tested whether those taught with the CTL approach can solve math problems better than those taught conventionally. This research used Quasy Experimental Design with Static Group Design. The research population was class XII MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Padang, with samples of classes 1 and 4. The instrument used was a test in the form of essay questions. The t-test data analysis resulted in a P-value = 0.000. Therefore, H0 is rejected. Thus, CTL in class XII MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Padang solves math problems better than ordinary learning.Keywords– Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Mathematics

Abstract

This study is to determine the effect of mathematical disposition on mathematical communication skills of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Padang City. The type of research used is ex-post facto research. The population in this study were students of class XI social studies MAN 1 Padang City in the academic year 2023/2024 totaling 72 students. The instruments used in this study were mathematical disposition questionnaire and mathematical communication ability test.  Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis with simple linear regression.  Based on the results of descriptive analysis, it is known that most students have poor mathematical ability.  Regarding students' mathematical communication skills, the results obtained were 19.44% in the "good" category, 25% in the "sufficient" category, 26.39% in the "less" category, and 27.78% in the "very less" category.  The results of inferential statistical analysis showed that there was an influence between mathematical disposition on the mathematical communication skills of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Padang City in the 2023/2024 school year. This is evidenced by the large p-value <0.05, or p-value = 0.000.  Mathematics affects mathematical communication skills by 50.55%, while the remaining 49.45% is influenced by other variables outside the study.Keywords: Influence, Mathematical Disposition, Mathematical Communication Ability

Abstract

Mathematics demands mathematical communication skills to express ideas appropriately. Mathematical communication skills remain poor. According to observations. The Think Pair Share cooperative learning methodology with animated video was chosen. Mathematical communication abilities were examined better utilizing the Think Pair Share video animation model than a direct model in class XII IPS SMA Negeri 1 Payakumbuh. Study employed Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Sampling was random. Experimental and control classes were XII IPS 1 and 2. The research hypothesis was supported by Mann-Whitney. The P-value from data analysis is 0,022. H0 was rejected due to a P-value . Abstract

Mathematical communication is one of the aspects that has a significant importance that must be accomplished in the learning process, especially in mathematics. Based on the observation in SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung, it shows that the matematical comunication ability of students in class IX is still not optimal. An alternative way to solve this problem is by using the Formulate-Share-Listen-Create (FSLC) model. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of mathematical comunication skills on student who learn using the FSLC model better than students who learn using a direct learning model. This kind of research is a quasi-experiment through a Non-Equivalent post-test only control group design. The target population in this study is students in grade IX of SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung in 2023/2024 academic year. The sampling process was implemented through a simple random samping technique. The instrument used is presented in the form of a final test of mathematical communication ability. Based on the results of the final hypothesis testing, the P-value = 0,004 is achieved with a real standard of 0,005, which means that the P-value <  and therefore the  is rejected. Hence, it can be conclude that there is an effect on the mathematical communication ability of students after studying by applying the FSLC model.Keywords – Formulate-Share-Listen­-Create (FSLC), Mathematical Communication Skills.

Abstract

Good math communication abilities are expected in math. As observed in the field, class VIII students at SMP Negeri 26 Padang in 2023/2024 had inadequate mathematical communication abilities. The Think Talk Write (TTW) learning paradigm was used to solve problems. This research analyzes students' math communication skills when teaching with TTW model, which is superior to conventional learning, and describes how those skills develop from the model. The non-equivalent posttest-only control group design is used in this quasi-experimental descriptive research. The quiz and final test assessed mathematical communication. Normal distribution and homogenous variance are required for the t-test data analysis. Analysis of quiz data showed all indices of students' mathematical communication developed. P-value <α rejects H0, indicating the TTW cooperative model impacts communication abilities.Keywords–Mathematical Communication Skills, TTW,  Conventional Learning

Abstract

Mathematical learning requires goals. However, UTS results revealed that Class X students at SMA N 1 Ampek Angkek in 2022/2023 had poor mathematics learning outcomes. These maths questions will be solved via TTW cooperative learning. Quasi-experimental research uses non-equivalent post-test only control groups. Study participants were 2023/2024 SMA N 1 Ampek Angkek Class XI students. Simple random sampling selected class. Math learning outcomes test results were analysed using normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. The TTW cooperative learning technique improved maths learning, the research revealed. A t-test rejected H0 at 0.05 with a P-value of 0.020 after data processing. This shows that TTW cooperative learning enhances student learning over direct learning.Keywords– Mathematisc Learning Outcomes, Think Talk Write type Cooperative model

Abstract

Math is a subject that has evolved and helps high school students solve problems. Many still make mistakes when solving these situations. Their math errors are the focus of this study. A descriptive qualitative type was conducted, by collecting data using problem-solving skills questions and unstructured interviews. Class X E 7 SMA Negeri 3 Padang. Many errors in solving Newman analysis-based problems, according to this study. namely errors (1) reading the problem by 17%; (2) understanding the problem by 25%; (3) transforming the problem by 30%; (4) process skills by 56%; (5) writing the final answer by 71%. The fifth skill was performed by subjects with high problem solving ability. While the medium ability made mistakes in three stages. Abstract

One indicator of the success of students in mastering mathematics is seen from the results of learning mathematics. However, in reality mathematics learning outcomes of grade XI  students of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Rumbai, shows that the students' mathematics learning outcomes remains relatively low. The solution that can be applied by educators to improve students' math learning outcomes is the Student Teams Achievement Division type cooperative learning model. This study aims to determine, describe and analyze whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn with the cooperative learning model type Student Teams Achievement Division are better than students who learn with conventional learning models in classl XI SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Rumbai. Quasi experiment with Posttest Only Design with Non-equivalent Group is used in this research. Based on the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing, it shows that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn with the Student Teams Achievement Division type  cooperative learning model are better   than students who learn with conventional learning models in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Rumbai.Keywords– Cooperative, Student Teams Achievement Division, Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

The basic skills that students must master are communication skills. However, class XI MIPA students at SMAN 4 Padang are still lacking in mathematical communication. Model problem based learning (PBL) is used to overcome this problem. Descriptive research and quasi-experimental research (quasi experiment) with plans Nonequivalent Postest-only control group design use in this research. The research population is class XI MIPA students at SMAN 4 Padang. Sample classes are taken through engineering simple random sampling. The instruments used are quizzes and final tests. Hypothesis test results, then reject.
