Abstract

The main purpose of learning mathematics is to improve one's ability to convey mathematical concepts to others through communication. Based on the preliminary findings of research conducted in class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Pasaman, the level of student ability in this domain is inadequate.  By using the Quantum Teaching (QT) teaching method can improve students' ability to express mathematical ideas. The objective of the research team at SMA Negeri 1 Pasaman was to evaluate the effectiveness of more traditional methods compared to the QT model in teaching mathematical communication to grade XI students. Based on quasi-experimental method, this study used a control group design limited to posttest. We used Simple Random Sampling technique for sampling. The result of the hypothesis test on both sample classes is ? value of 0.001. Students in grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Pasaman who used the QT model had better abilities compared to students who used conventional methods. Abstract

Students are expected to have problem solving skills in mathematics as one of the learning objectives. Nonetheless, this is a problem for SMA Negeri 1 Guguak District class XI students. It can be seen from the students' first test scores which, according to the indicators, did not reach good grades. Among the approaches utilised to overcome this problem is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research seeks to find out whether SMA Negeri 1 Kecamatan Guguak grade XI students who use this approach along with Geogebra media can outperform their peers in traditional maths classes and without technology. This study used a quasi-experimental design with an unequal control group and posttest only. Students of class XI G SOS 1 and XI G SOS 2 of SMA Negeri 1 Guguak District were the subjects in this study. A mathematical problem solving ability test using open-ended questions was used as the research technique. We obtained a p-value of 0.005 after conducting a t-test on the data. If the p-value is smaller than α = 0.05, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This allows us to draw a conclusion. Therefore, it can be said that compared to traditional/conventional learning, SMA Negeri 1 Guguak class XI students who were applied the PBL paradigm assisted by Geogebra had better performance in solving mathematics problems.

Abstract

Abstract - The purpose of this paper was to determine the validity of e-modules based on differentiated learning in upgrading the numeracy literacy ability of class XI SMA/MA students. The type of research is development based on the Plomp model. The participants in the study included 32 students of class X and an educator. The following data were collected through questionnaires, documentation, and observation methods. Meanwhile, to analyse the data which is divided into stages, namely in the preliminary research phase, data reduction will be used, then data presentation as well as conclusion drawing, then analysis for product validity using a Likert scale. The results showed that the criteria for the validity of the e-module from the aspect of material substance obtained a validity value of 82.00, the feasibility aspect of the presentation of 89.45, the feasibility aspect of the material display of 88.80, in terms of material language of 87.20 and in terms of aspects of differentiated learning approaches and numeracy literacy with a validity value of 86.2. All aspects are in the valid criteria. Thus, for the average of all, the validity of the e-module from the five validators is 86.74, which is valid. Based on the explanation above, the e-module based on differentiated learning in improving the numeracy literacy skills of class XI SMA/MA students is valid.Keywords– Differentiated Learning, e-modules, numeracy literacy

Abstract

Mathematics problem solving ability is one of the important abilities that students have in learning mathematics. However, students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh still lack this ability. The solution provided is to apply the Discovery Learning with the help of a learning video. This study aims to see the difference in mathematical problem solving skills of students who use Discovery Learning with conventional learning. The type of research used is quasi experiment with Randomized (DL) Control-Group Only Design. The population is X MIPA class students of SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. Class XMIPA-3 and class XMIPA-5 as the sample class. Finally test in the form of an essay as an instrument. After the t-test was conducted, P-vaue=0.009 was obtained. Because the P-value <0.05 consequently reject . Therefore, it’s concluded that the level of mathematics problem solving ability of students using Discovery Learning assisted by learning videos is higher than using conventional.

Abstract

The background to this research is that student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects are still low. The aim of this research is to determine and describe the effect of implementing the Discovery Learning model on the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Pariaman. This type of research uses quasy experiments (experimental power). The research sample consisted of 52 people. Data analysis techniques consist of normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests. The results of the research show that the final test learning outcomes of experimental class students are higher than the final test learning outcomes of the control class. There are differences in the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the discovery learning model compared to the direct learning model in Mathematics for class XI students at SMA 5 Pariaman p-value >0.05 means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.Keywords– Discovery Learning Learning Model, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The goal of mathematics education is to improve problem solving skills. The cooperative learning method used is TSTS. This study tested whether students who learn Two Stay Two Stray type cooperative learning can solve math problems better than students who learn directly. The quasi-experimental method used was Non-equivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design. This study involved XII science students of SMA N 1 Lembah Gumanti in the 2023/2024 school year. The experimental and control groups, XII IPA 4 and 2, were selected using Simple Random Sampling. The P-value of the math problem solving test was 0.007 below α of 0.05 indicating the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). Abstract The motivation behind this study is to decide the legitimacy of science e-modules in light of different insights to further develop the numerical critical thinking skill of grade VIII SMP/MTsN understudies. The subjects of this study were 31 grade VII understudies and one arithmetic teacher from SMPN 15 Padang. Abstract

The primary objective of student learning is to acquire proficiency in mathematical problem-solving skills. However, their mathematical problem solving skills are still inadequate. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with Articulate Storyline as learning media is suggested to overcome this problem. This study tested whether PBL can improve students' mathematical problem solving ability on SPLDV material compared to conventional learning in class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan. This study used Posttest-Only Control Group Design, a pseudo experiment. Data analysis showed that students in class VIII MTsN 1 Padangsidimpuan who were taught with PBL and Articulate Storyline had superior problem solving skills than students who were taught conventionally.

Abstract

This research is development research which aims to produce the LKPD based on problem-based learning that are valid, practical and effective in comparative material for class VII SMP. It is Plomp's development model that is utilised. This process consists of three steps: research, prototype, and testing. The data for this study was gathered from both students and teachers through questionnaires, practice and observation charts, test scores, and validity and reliability statements. These tools were used to evaluate the ability to solve mathematical problems. With a total validity score of 87.50%, the validation results demonstrated that the LKPD created was deemed quite valid. With a particularly practical category, the LKPD's practicality experiment obtained an impressive success percentage of 93.50%. The mathematical problem-solving ability exam is considered to be of extremely high quality, with a completeness rating of 83.33%. With LKPD's valid and practical problem-based learning approach, students' problem-solving skills in mathematics have been enhanced.Keywords: LKPD,  Problem Based Learning, Mathematics Problem Solving ability

Abstract

Abstract - Once a learning process is complete, the most important item is the learning outcomes. The mathematical achievement of seventh graders at MTsN 12 Agam is dismal. Problems are addressed through the usage of PBL. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of direct instruction with that of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the context of mathematics education. Non-Equivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design for descriptive and pseudo-research purposes. Research samples were drawn from two classes at MTsN 12 Agam: VII.D, which served as the experimental class, and VII.A, which served as the control class. Using a t-test, we checked for homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis testing between the two groups of samples. With a P-value of 0.006 and an actual level of 5%, the findings of the test indicate that H0 is rejected. Because of this, children in the experimental group outperform those in the control group on math tests. Thus, the PBL approach affects the mathematical learning results of MTsN 12 Agam seventh graders.Keywords: Model PBL, Learning Outcomes, Direct Learning Model
