Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the cognitive abilities that are expected to be possessed by every student in learning mathematics. However, in reality it appears that understanding the mathematical concepts of students in class VIII of SMP 3 Padang is still low, so it needs to be improved. One effort to overcome this is by applying a learning model that can facilitate students in understanding the material and building their own knowledge. The learning model that can be applied is the TPS type cooperative learning model. Based on these problems, a research was conducted to describe whether the understanding of the mathematical concepts of students who learned using the TPS type cooperative learning model was better than the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students using conventional learning models in class VIII SMP 3 Padang. This type of research is quasi-experimental with static group design. The results of this study indicate that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students who learn to apply the TPS model is better than the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students whose learning implements conventional learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Padang. The result of preliminary studies suggest that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities on topic number pattern was low. This is due to the teaching of teachersthat are too focused on textbooks. While the presentation of material number pattern on textbook has not been optimal and less to contribute to the development of student learning, especially on students’ mathematical reasoning abilities. Therefore, in designing instructional design of number pattern topic based on realistic mathematics education is implemented in student worksheet. This research that was Gravemeijer & Cobb development model, which consisted of three phases, there were the preparing experiment, design experiment and retrospective experiment. The subject were 8th grade students of 1 Padang Junior High School. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and descriptive techniques, which describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of instructional design through student worksheet based on RME. Instrument data collection used : final test, observation sheets, interview sheets and questionnaires. The result of the research shows that the instructional design of number pattern topic with RME approach through student worksheet have been valid, practical and effective. It is to be valid because it has fulfilled the characteristics of the validity of both content and construct contents. It is said to be practical because the product is easy to use and understand, the specified time allocation is very efficient, very interesting and contributes to the number pattern learning. Furthermore it is said to be effective because the use of this design has a potential impact on students’ reasoning abilities on the topic of number pattern.Keywords:Instructional Design, Number Pattern, RME, Learning Trajectory, Design Research

Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the cognitive abilities that must be possessed by every student in mathematics learning. But from student learning outcomes it can be seen that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students of VIII SMP 30 Padang is still low. An alternative that can be used as a solution to this problem is to implement a model Learning Cycle 5E. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the conceptual ability to of class VIII SMP 30 Padang through the model of Learning Cycle 5E. This type of research is quasi-experimental design with Static group design. Sampling was randomly selected and VIII 5 was selected as experimental class and class VIII 3 as control. The problem in learning matheamatic is the mathematical problem solving skills of student are not optimal. Low in mathematical problem solving skills occur in class XII MIPA SMAN 5 Padang.That problem can occur causes by some reason, such as the students still not active in learning mathematic and the students are not used to handling nonroutine questions. Creative Problem Solving is one of the learning model that can enhance the students mathematical problem solving skills. The purpose of this research is to describes the mathematical problem solving skills of students who study with Creative Problem Solving Learning models. This type of research is quasy-experiment with Randomized Control Group Only Design. Mathematical problem solving ability is one of abilities that must have by student in mathematics learning. However, the ability of problem solving of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman is still low. One of efforts that can be done to solve this problem is to implement model of cooperative learning type send a problem. The purpose of this research is to describe whether mathematical problem solving ability of students who study by cooperative learning type send a problemis better than the ability of students who study by direct learning model. Based on analysis data, it can be concluded that the problem solving ability of students who study by cooperative learning type send a problem modelbetter than the problem solving ability of student who study by direct learning with an error rate 5%. This research showed that, the application of cooperative learning type send a problem model giving an influence on student’s mathematical problem solving ability. Abstract –The results of the preliminary study indicate that there are several problems in learning Number Pattern at Junior High School grade VIII. Although the example of pattern application was given in the daily live the teacher still has not designed the flow of the students learning by themselves. This research aimed to developing instructional design in topic the Number Pattern for Junior High School grade VIII with the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. This research is a kind of design research using Gravemeijer and Cobb model, which consists of three phases, namely the preparation phase for research (Preparation for the Experiment), experiment phase (Conducting the Experiment) and assessment phase (Retrospective Analysis). The subjects research were SMPN 4 Bukittinggi grade VIII. The results obtained that the conducting experiment stage indicate the problem is given in the activity series of students can stimulate the students to develop their knowledge and help them to find their own formulas in the material the Number Patterns. All of the strategies are used and discussed by the students that show how the students construct or contribute in finding the concept of Number Pattern from the informal level to the formal level. The result showed that the development of instructional learning design on numerical pattern topics based on realistic mathematic education in junior high school grade VIII was valid, practice and effective. The validity of this learning design is showed in the term of content and language. Practically seen in terms of implementation, ease and time needed in using a series of activities designed. Critical thinking ability is a competency that must be trained in students because critical thinking skills are needed to compete in the 21st century. In the learning process critical thinking skills have not been implemented properly. The purpose of this study was to describe describing the level of mathematical critical thinking skills of students of class XI MIPA 5 Padang 2 High School. Data retrieval is done by observing, giving a test of mathematical critical thinking skills, then conducting interviews based on the results of tests of critical thinking skills in each group of high, medium, and low. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that studentscritical thinking skills were still relatively low. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained it can be concluded that the students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. There are still many students who have not been able to fulfill well every indicator of critical thinking skills that has been tested, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation and interpretation. This is because the learning process is still dominated by the teacher. The learning process that takes place is not all material that uses the ability to think critically in solving problems. The ability of conceptual understanding of mathematics is one of the learning objectives that are expected to be achieved by students. However, the conceptual understanding of mathematics of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman students is not as expected. An alternative solution is to implement the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning model. The purpose of this research was to describe the differences in conceptual understanding of mathematics between the students who studied using the NHT type of cooperative learning model and those who studied using the conventional learning model, and to explain the development of positive attitudes of XII Social Science class students of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman towards mathematics. The type of research is quasi-experimental and descriptive, with a Randomized Control-Group Only design. Sampling was conducted by using simple random sampling technique, and XII Social Science 3 as the experimental class and XII Social Science 4 as the control class. The research instrument used a test to measure the ability to understand the mathematical concepts in the form of essay and attitude questionnaires. Based on the results of data analysis, conceptual understanding of mathematics of the students who took part in learning using the NHT type of cooperative learning model is better than the students who studied with conventional learning model. It means that the NHT learning model has a positive effect on the students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics. In addition, the results of data analysis show that the development of positive attitudes of the students who followed the NHT learning model also increased.
