Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the growth performance, nutrient digestibility and ceacal microbial population of weaned pigs fed maize cob-cassava peel mixture as partial replacement for maize. Animals in treatment 1 (T1) were fed 0 % maize cob-cassava peel mixture (CPMCM) while CPMCM was used to replace maize at 10 %, 20 % and 30 % in T2, T3 and T4 respectively. Feed and clean water were offered to pigs throughout the experiment that lasted for 60 days. Results obtained revealed that average daily weight gain, average daily feed intake, feed conversion ratio and mortality were not significantly (P>0.05) influenced by the treatments. Nutrient digestibility of crude protein, crude fibre, ether extracts, dry matter and nitrogen free extract were not significantly (P>0.05) different among the treatment. Microbial population of Escherichia coli and Lactobacillus sp were significantly (P<0.05) different among the groups. Conversely, Salmonella sp and Micrococcus luteus counts were not significantly (P>0.05) different among the treatments. It was concluded that CPMCM can be used to replace maize up to 30 % in the diet of weaned pigs without causing any deleterious effect on the performance of animals.

Abstract

In this work, financial liquidity has a higher rate than escape savings. The rate of the velocity of financial liquidity is two magnitudes higher than the velocity of escape savings. It uses mathematical definitions by the cycle of money and shows the sensitivity plot of cy: {(m4 + 3*m)*10-4}. In this case, financial liquidity is identical to the cycle of money.

Abstract

This study examines Marawi City's media landscape before, during, and after the 2017 siege, investigating existing outlets, media practitioner dynamics/safety challenges, and media's role in peacebuilding and sustainable development. Findings reveal a pre-siege thriving local press transitioning to intense national/international coverage during the siege, with local voices emerging through initiatives like "S'bang Ka Marawi" radio program. Post-siege saw a local radio revival alongside social media's rise, posing trust and literacy issues. The Meranaw language is preferred but lacks a standardized orthography. Local journalists face capacity gaps in training and safety resources. Recommendations include revitalizing local media, promoting media literacy alongside Meranaw language standardization, and investing in media safety training. Further studies are proposed on social media's impact on trust/information sharing, comparative pre/post-siege media consumption analysis, and examining local media's peacebuilding role.

Abstract

Despite Nigeria is gifted with a wealth of natural resources and rich cultural heritage, is still backward in terms of economic development. Therefore, ecotourism has therefore been identified as a vital regional approach for harmonizing economic growth and conservation. Thus, the study empirically evaluates the current state of ecotourism in Oke Idanre hills in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. Primary and secondary data were collected and sourced with the aid of questionnaire and scheduled Interviews. The data involved qualitative analysis using descriptive statistics. The results revealed that although ecotourism is still at an early stage, some socioeconomic benefits for the Idanre community exist such as the employment of locals as tourist guides and other investments as a result of this destination. The finding shows the use and access of resources by the locals in the Idanre community as logging and poaching have become the order of the day. Locals in a bid to survive the hard-luck of life encroach into protected areas. Also, Idanre locals have had to cope with reduced access to some parts of the hills especially during the day since the site was listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The dilapidated site resort has brought about revenue loss to the community. Covid-19 pandemic has brought about a decline in tourist population in Idanre hill; ecotourism has not contributed much revenue towards conservation efforts as not much is generated, bulk still lies on the shoulder of the government who are more interested in oil than tourism. The site offers rich cultural artefacts and a tour guide is usually attached to educate the tourists. Hence this study is necessary to ascertain the current state of ecotourism in Idanre hills looking from the community perspective, the practices, administration, and management of Idanre hills, also recommendations offered are centered on the study of the findings.

Abstract

The Holy Quran talked about the creation of man and mentioned in many of its verses a bulk number of the internal and external parts of the human body, which were used in multiple linguistic formulas. The present research aims to study some of these parts from a linguistic point of view, where the present study has investigated the linguistic structure and forms of these parts, their numbers, and the suras and verses in which they are used. The main source of the required data is the Holy Quran. Related studies were of great help for this study. The corpus of the study is limited to a number of these parts that were found to be the most used ones in the Holy Quran which were investigated deeply and thoroughly. The findings show that the targeted parts were formed in the Arabic singular, dual and plural forms. It also shows that some of these parts were used more than others. The study also concluded that the great majority of the linguistic forms of these parts were used for both men and women with a very limited exceptions where some of these linguistic forms were only used for women.
