Abstract

ABSTRACTMass media involvemet in reporting a social conflict event is an inevatibility. It is due to the fact the conflict is a news value, despite of that other news value elemets are proximity, actuality, factuality, human interest and popularity. Presenting news related to a conflict event by related mass media, it brings logical consequence per se towards the position or alignment of the mass media institution against the ongoing domain of the conflict. This article is the study result of the writer applying literature study method in analyzing the involvement of online mass media in reporting social conflict event. The writer writes that there are several interesting points occured when online mass media reporting a social conflict. First, online mass media tends to prioritize actuality in delivering information to public despite of news accuracy (factuality). Second, actuality in delivering news to public will cause reporting news bias. Third, online mass media tends to perform alignment by becoming story teller of a social confliect and plays its role as conflict intensifier and conflict diminisher.Keywords: Online Mass Media, Social Conflict, Mass Media Alignment, Reporting

Abstract

ABSTRACTFor the sophomore students in their senior high school, in choosing their majors were not an easy things to do, regarding many things should be taken as the matter of reconsideration. For example, parent’s opinion and friends, furthermore the student’s own interest and perception toward desired concentration. Interest, in the Indonesia dictionary means that some preferences regarding to which liking something or wanting something that suit the subjects. And perception means the responses of the subjects regarding something in the subject’s field of interest.In choosing their own education, SMK sophomores senior high school students would putting their full interest to the concentration which they chose, and also had their own perception towards it. This research would be using quantitative methods in order to obtain how much their perception and interest shall affect their willingness to continues their studies in AKRB Yogyakarta academy. The benefits of this research expected to grants valuable advices for referred concentration study in broadcasting field to enhances their qualities therefore the said academy would become the main choice for the students who sitting in the sophomore class. This research also expected to gives a contribution for sophomore students’ interest in choosing their major in university.Keyword : Prception, Sophomore Students, Education.

Abstract

AbstractUniversitas Islam Indonesia (UII) is the oldest and the largest Islamic university in Yogyakarta (DIY), which in early 2017 was in crisis. The crisis caused by the death of three students who attend pendidikan dasarunit kegiatan mahasiswa (UKM) mahasiswa pecinta alam (Mapala) UNISI. The research’s goal is to determine the UII’s communication activities to response the crisis. This research used qualitative content analysis using newspaper like Harian Jogja, Kedaulatan Raykat and media releases on the official website of UII. Crisis management with Three-Stage Approach is used as the theory. The results showed that the communication activities in the stage of crisis event (crisis) are (1) established a crisis center (crisis team) and an internal investigation team; (2) delivereda formal statement and create releases; (3) apology and responsibility to the victims; (4) closed Mapala UNISI organizations and activities; (5) The rector and vice rector III resigned from the management (6) let the police took the perpetrator and gave sanctions to students who involved and (7) updated the UII’s website (www.uii.ac.id) with positive press and remove news / releases about Mapala UNISI.Keywords: crisis, management, UII

Abstract

Abstract"Istirahatlah Kata-Kata" tells the story of Wiji Thukul in his fugitive time in Pontianak. During his escape in Pontianak, Wiji felt anxious, scared and worried by his status. Initially, he isolates himself from the outside. Meanwhile, his wife and children had to face intimidation from agency to find out his whereabouts. This film criticize the ideology show in some dialogues and visual displays. This research analyse some scenes in the movie using semiotic approach to search the critique of ideology signified and the series of signs that construct the film, like the iconic signs, linguistic signs and musical signs. The result showed that this film uses iconic signs such as images, original sound like animal sounds at night, the sound of children crying, the sound of boots, and musical illustrations to reinforce the narrative story. This film also uses a linguistic signs as a symbolic dialogue, monologue, subtitle, and narration. Musical signs obtained from the poetry musical, verbal signs, and narrative story to give the historical background. Cinematic coded obtained by the use of voice over, motion pictures, and montage. This cinematic code consists of cinematographic plan code that is obtained through the structure of image, like image captures, angle shots, and long shots. The time code obtained from narrative films, the order time, and duration. Montage code obtained from editing and transitions. Shooting angle Code obtained through shooting distance and shooting angle. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis feature program entitled "Gir Pasang" which discusses a village named Gir Pasang located on the slopes of Mount Merapi, precisely Kemalang included in the subdistrict, Klaten, Central Java. Gir Pasang is extremely isolated because it is located between the steep ravines and away from the construction of infrastructure such as mosques, schools and health centers. This hamlet is also entered into the Merapi eruption disaster-prone areas. Even so, the villagers of Gir Pasang still choose to survive and stay in the village without worrying eruption of Mount Merapi since they mempercaya that they will remain safe if Mount Merapi erupts because there are mountains green which is believed to be older than the Mount Merapi that Mount Merapi dare not pass if the eruption. To establish friendships with Merapi, until now they preserve the tradition selametan as a symbol of friendship. Creating the works feature in desperately needed a photographer to take pictures as directed by the Director.This program focuses on the exploration of camera angle in the delivery of information visually. The camera angle used is eye-level, high angle, low angle and bird eyes. In addition, using the technique cameraman panning camera movement, tracking, tilting, crabbing and following. As for the type of shot that is used among close-up, medium close-up, medium shot, medium long shot, long shot, and the full shot. All camera techniques used in order to produce images yabg vary so it is not boring. Abstract

ABSTRACTOnline media is familiar in everyday life. In this modern era, online media has also grown increasingly rampant in Indonesia. Almost every individual did not escape his daily using online media. Online media can be regarded also as a medium of communication used in the best-selling success factors in the communication process. In this study, success in question is create a brand image of a product of SMEs. One area of successful UKM and succeeded thanks to online media are Egyptian Cream. Egyptian Cream is a skincare brand that was founded in June 2010 by Restiani Nur Fauzi. The concept of products offered by the Egyptian herbal skincare cream is made from bees, such as honey, royal jelly, propolis and beeswax. The main products offered in this line of business is Egyptian Magic Cream directly imported from Washington DC. As the first hand of the producer, quickly mastered the Egyptian Cream Egyptian Magic Cream market in Indonesia. This is a good business slit on the sidelines of facial whitening products are popping up when it is considered by people who want herbal skin care products are safe. In this study, researchers used a qualitative approach with case study method. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis technique used is perseverance observation, triangulation of data, and adequacy referential. The results of this study indicate that the use of online media to the Egyptian Cream is highly optimized, this business line has been using online media to 9 types. Abstract

ABSTRACTBusiness competition to manage radio broadcasting in DIY so tight, the number of terrestrial radio is too much and not balanced with the number of radio listeners that resulted in the community is often confused in choosing & know the name of the radio station. This also affects advertisers who are also confused about selecting suitable broadcast radio as a means of promoting their business. The public can only recognize the radio from the program & certain uniqueness-uniqueness that characterizes a radio station so it takes the ingenuity of radio management in building & creating the brand.
