Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of organizational culture, leadership style, and motivation on employee performance at the Defense Information Bureau, Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia. The research object was selected due to its strategic role in state defense information management, where human resource performance is a crucial factor. The research aims to empirically test the partial and simultaneous effects of these three independent variables on employee performance. This research employs a quantitative method with an explanatory approach. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires distributed to 52 permanent employees of the Defense Information Bureau, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 software, including validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that, partially, organizational culture and motivation have a positive and significant influence on employee performance, whereas leadership style does not show a significant effect. Simultaneously, the three independent variables collectively have a significant impact on employee performance, with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 41.3%. The main conclusion is that organizational culture and motivation are the dominant factors shaping performance in this environment, making the reinforcement of work values and continuous motivation development strategic recommendations.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in driving both local and national economic growth. Digitalization is one of the key strategies for MSMEs to enhance competitiveness and reach wider markets. Most MSMEs in Desa Limau, Sembawa District, have not yet optimally utilized digital technology, either in business location digitalization or promotional visualization, making their businesses difficult to find and resulting in low marketing reach. This community service program aims to improve the visibility of MSMEs in Desa Limau through location digitalization and promotional visualization. The activities were carried out through direct (door-to-door) assistance, which included creating business locations on Google Maps, providing basic introductions to marketplaces (Shopee and TikTok Shop), and designing promotional banners for one of the MSMEs. Location digitalization aims to make it easier for customers to find MSME business locations online, while promotional visualization is intended to attract customer attention through both digital and physical media. The results of this training show that the door-to-door approach effectively improved MSME owners’ understanding and skills in utilizing digital technology, making business locations easier to find and promotional media more appealing. This training program is expected to serve as an initial step for MSMEs to expand their sales reach and enhance competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

Digital marketing represents an essential digital capability that entrepreneurs, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), are required to develop in response to increasing market digitalization. This marketing strategy utilizes digital platforms to promote products to the general public. This community service program aims to provideunderstanding and training related to digital marketing to the Sekar Sari Mandiri MSME in Turi, Sleman, and to develop a marketing website with partners to expand their marketing reach. The training teaches the use of digital marketing in managing marketing through platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and WhatsApp. This training uses creativeapplications such as Canva, CapCut, and ChatGpt to support the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing planning. This community service method uses a participatory approach, placing the community as active subjects in every stage, from planning to evaluation. The results of the community service program show that partners who were initially unable to conduct digital marketing are now able to create marketing content and conduct marketing through the website. This includes filling in product descriptions with attractive product photos and operating the website developed with the community service team.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to empower PKK (Family Welfare and Empowerment) women cadres in Teguhan Village through the utilization of organic waste to support sustainable agriculture and local economic resilience. Specifically, the program focused on training cadres to process coconut husk waste from Cocomixs beverage production and leftover household rice into an organic liquid fertilizer named PCO-Yococo. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active community involvement throughout the process. Activities were implemented in five stages: planning, socialization, training, technical guidance, and mentoring. The methods included environmental observation, participatory formulation of PCO-Yococo production procedures, hands-on production practice, dissemination of a digital pocket book, and periodic monitoring of the fermentation process and plant growth in Kebun Rahayu. The results showed significant improvements in participants’ technical skills related to organic fertilizer production, increased production capacity, and enhanced social and economic empowerment among PKK cadres. Overall, this program indicates that a participatory, community-based waste management initiative can effectively transform local waste into value-added agricultural inputs while strengthening environmental awareness, social capacity, and economic resilience in Teguhan Village.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to implement the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the higher education environment through a social and religious program. The program was designed to strengthen the social role and moral responsibility of universities in supporting the community’s spiritual education. This activity employed a participatory approach involving lecturers and students from the Accounting Study Program at Universitas Sumatera Barat. The implementation consisted of several stages, namely the preparation, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation phases. The results of this activity indicate that CSR practices in the form of social and religious programs can enhance public trust and strengthen the university’s image as a socially responsible institution. Moreover, this activity provided direct benefits to the community by increasing access to Qur’an copies and supporting Islamic learning activities at local TPA/TPSA institutions. The program also fostered students’ awareness of social accountability and ethics in the field of accounting, aligning with the values of integrity, transparency, and empathy. This activity demonstrates that integrating CSR into community service programs can serve as an effective means of building sustainable relationships between higher education institutions and society.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in sustaining rural economies by creating employment opportunities, utilizing local resources, and supporting household income. However, many rural MSMEs continue to face structural challenges, particularly limited promotional capacity and low digital technology adoption, which reduce business visibility, restrict market access, and weaken competitiveness amid increasing economic digitalization. In Rayunggumuk Village, most MSMEs operate informally, rely on word-of-mouth promotion, lack clear visual business identities, and have not utilized digital platforms for business promotion. This community service program aimed to address these issues through simple, low-cost, and context-appropriate promotional strategies by integrating offline visual branding with basic digitalization. Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) framework, the program involved ten MSMEs from sectors such as processed food, traditional beverages, handicrafts, and local services. The interventions included designing and installing promotional banners and registering business locations on Google Maps, supported by direct mentoring activities. The results showed improved MSME visibility, accessibility, consumer trust, and digital literacy, demonstrating that combining visual branding with digital mapping can effectively support sustainable rural MSME empowerment.

Abstract

This community service program strengthened vocational teachers’ pedagogical and digital competencies in designing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) micro modules aligned with Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum. Using a community-based training approach (preparation and needs assessment, concept reinforcement, and hands-on workshops), a team from Universitas Negeri Makassar facilitated training for X teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Jeneponto. Data were collected through observations, informal interviews, and participants’ reflective notes, and were analyzed descriptively to capture competency changes and implementation constraints. Results indicate that participants improved their understanding of micro module structure and key PBL principles, enhanced their ability to formulate authentic, contextual problem scenarios, and increased confidence in using Canva and other digital tools to develop visually engaging teaching materials. As tangible outputs, teachers produced initial drafts of subject-specific PBL micro modules that are ready for refinement and classroom implementation. Persistent challenges included uneven teacher digital literacy and limited student access to digital devices, leading to a practical need for hybrid delivery and printed micro module versions. These findings imply that future programs should incorporate differentiated digital support, provide low-tech design alternatives, and strengthen school–university collaboration to ensure sustainable implementation of innovative learning materials under the Merdeka Curriculum.
