Abstract

The aim of this research is to assess the impact of macroeconomic factors, including the inflation rate and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and performance indicators such as Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), on the valuation of manufacturing companies during the period from 2018 to 2022. This study employs purposive sampling to select ten companies as samples, with specific criteria applied throughout the five-year observation period. Data is collected through non-participant observation, involving the analysis of financial reports from the chosen companies. Data analysis iscarried out using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The research findings reveal the significant positive influence of Return on Equity (ROE) on company value, whereas other variables do not exhibit significant impacts. This underscores the critical role of Return on Equity (ROE) as a key factor affecting company valuation.

Abstract

The use of technology in the banking sector is currently growing rapidly with the presence of E-banking. E-banking may affect financial performance and can increase banking profits. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of E-banking on the financial performance of banks with the top market cap. ROA is used as the dependent variable to represent financial performance. The independent variables used are ATM, M-banking, DPK and BOPO by adding bank size as a control variable. The samples used are BBCA, BBRI, BMRI, BBNI and MEGA. The type of data used is secondary data with panel data regression analysis of the annual financial report data of each bank from 2015-2022. The results of this study are ATM, M-banking and BOPO have a significant effect on ROA while DPK has no significant effect on ROA. Simultaneously, ATM, M-banking, DPK, BOPO and Bank Size variables have a significant effect on ROA. Therefore, the implication of this research is that banks focus on improving and developing E-banking in order to increase bank profits which will improve the bank's financial performance.

Abstract

The tobacco industry, as one of the major industries in Indonesia, has experienced consistent growth. Despite being burdened by stringent regulations; tobacco products still maintain high demand among consumers. Forecasting serves as a crucial tool for every industry, aiding in decision-making and planning. ARIMA is one of the reliable forecasting methods, yet it remains open for further development. This study aims to compare ARIMA and SARIMAX, which incorporates seasonal aspects and external variables, namely weighted tariffs and affordability, to determine which of these forecasting models is more accurate. Through the execution of the equations, this research has demonstrated that SARIMAX outperforms ARIMA with a lower Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) score of 7.63 compared to ARIMA's more accurate MAPE score of 10.8. These findings indicate that SARIMAX is more accurate, as evidenced by its lower MAPE score of 7.63.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of cashless payments on economic growth in G20 countries. Additionally, a comparison of the impact of cashless payments in developed and developing countries is also analyzed. In this study, economic growth is used as the dependent variable, and transaction amounts of debit cards, credit cards, and electronic money are used as the independent variables. Data were collected from various databases for the period 2013-2021 covering a total of 19 countries divided into 10 developed countries and 9 developing countries that are members of the G20. The test results using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) dynamic panel found that all three variables have a significant effect in both developed and developing G20 member countries. Furthermore, the study found that the biggest influence of non-cash payments in developed countries is transactions using debit cards while in developing countries it is transactions using credit cards and electronic money. From these results, it was concluded that cashless payments have an impact on economic growth. It is hoped that these findings will provide new insights into cashless payments and their impact on economic growth.

Abstract

Unstable economic growth such as during the economic crisis and inequality in the financial inclusion system will have significant implications for financial system stability. Financial instability is characterized by a decline in public welfare, social instability, and broad economic losses. This study aims to examine the effect of economic growth, inflation, and financial inclusion on financial system stability. The analysis technique used is ECM. The dependent variable of financial system stability is measured by the Financial System Stability Index (ISSK) while the independent variables are economic growth, inflation, and the ratio of general banking credit to GDP and the volume of electronic money transactions to measure financial inclusion. The research data is secondary data with a quarterly period of 2012-2022. The empirical results of this study found that in the short term an increase in bank credit to GDP will increase stability. Meanwhile, an increase in economic growth, inflation, and the volume of electronic money transactions will reduce financial system stability.

Abstract

This research examines the efficiency of lending distribution by Regional Development Banks (RDBs) in Java, Indonesia, using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and panel regression analysis. It analyzes financial data from 2015-2022 to identify factors affecting lending distribution efficiency. Key variables include Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (OER), and regional government funds percentage (LGFR). the study identifies that among the variables examined, only LDR significantly impacts the lending efficiency of RDBs. This finding underscores the critical role of effective deposit to loan conversion in enhancing RDB operational performance, while other factors such as CAR, NPL, OER, and LGFR do not show a statistically significant effect. This research contributes to the banking efficiency literature by highlighting the importance of optimizing LDR to improve the operational efficiency of RDBs. It offers new insights into the operations of regional banks and their role in regional economic growth, especially in Java.
