Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the politics of Nahdlatul Wathan in Lombok which is led by Kiai Zainuddin. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with historical approaches, sociological approaches, and political approaches. The research method used is divided into four stages, namely heuristics, historical criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The research data was obtained from the process of reviewing and analyzing data that can be trusted for authenticity in the form of written sources or the results of interviews that have been conducted. The analysis of the data obtained can be concluded that Tuan Guru Kiai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid is one of the sons of Tuan Guru Abdul Madjid in Lombok and the best student who graduated from Madrasah Ash-Shaulatiyah in Mecca. He became a community leader and a cleric who was able to purify Islamic teachings by establishing many madrassas for the people of Lombok. The participation of Tuan Guru Kiai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid in the political arena is none other than to achieve the goals that must be achieved by the Nahdlatul Wathan organization, one of which is for the welfare of Muslims in Indonesia, especially on the island of Lombok. The role of Tuan Guru Kiai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid in the political struggle is as a consolidator, educator, mobilizer, and political mediator for followers of Nahdlatul Wathan and people outside Nahdlatul Wathan. Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the role of Fazlur Rahman as an Islamic reformer. The focus of the research discussed in this thesis are: 1) What is the background of Fazlur Rahman's life and education 2) What is the contribution of Fazlur Rahman's thoughts to the renewal of the Islamic world 3) What is the influence of Fazlur Rahman's thoughts on Muslim scholars in Indonesia. In writing this article the author uses historical research methods with the following steps: heuristics (data collection), verification (data criticism), interpretation (data interpretation) and historiography (historical writing). The writing of this article uses a historical-sociological approach. From the results of the research, the authors conclude that: 1) Fazlur Rahman is a prominent Muslim scientist from Pakistan. He is famous for his Neomodernism thinking. He was born in Hazara on September 21, 1919 to be exact. He was a lecturer at the University of Chicago until his death. 2) as a reformer, Fazlur Rahman produced many thoughts, including the methodology of Al-Qur'an Interpretation, Islamic Law, Islamic Education, and the Concept of an Islamic State. 3) Ahmad Syafii Maarif and Nurcholish Madjid are two prominent Muslim scientists from Indonesia who were influenced by Fazlur Rahman's thoughts. Abstract

Abstract: This article examines M. Natsir's actions regarding efforts to Christianize Indonesia. Has three research focuses, namely: What is the biography of Muhamad Natsir. What is the history of the development and impact of Christianization for Muslims in Indonesia in 1965-1979. What actions did Muhamad Natsir take in facing the Christianization of 1965-1979. This research is a library research using descriptive analysis with a historical-sociological approach. In writing this thesis the author uses historical research methods with the following steps: Heuristics (collecting data), Verification (criticizing data), Interpretation (interpretation of data) and Historiography (Writing of History). The writing of this thesis uses a historical-sociological approach. This approach is used by researchers to produce forms and processes of historical events, in addition to explaining the actions taken by Muhamad Natsir in dealing with Christianization in Indonesia in 1965-1979. From the results of the study it can be concluded that: (1) Muhamad Natsir is a contemporary Islamic figure who is quite influential in Indonesia (2) the development of Christians has increased rapidly after the outbreak of the G30S/PKI conflict, the spread of Christianity in Indonesia has drawn many protests from Muslims because too aggressive, and considered intolerant of members of other religions (3) The efforts made by M. Natsir in dealing with this Christianization were, proposing a modus viviendi as a way out, sending personnel from the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Council to remote and rural areas in Indonesia. Abstract

Abstract: This article is about thinking Mohammad Hatta on Islamic socialism. The problems that are the object of his study include, (1) What are the reasons behind the birth of the thought of Islamic Socialism in the view of Mohammad Hatta (2) Who are the national figures who have thoughts of Islamic Socialism (3) What is the concept of Islamic Socialism in Mohammad Hatta's thought and its influence on Indonesian nation. The research method used in this thesis is a historical research method consisting of heuristic, verification, interpretation and historiography stages. Meanwhile, the concept/theory used in this study is Wilhem Dilthey's theory in his book Pattern and Meaning in History. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The background to the emergence of Islamic Socialism in Mohammad Hatta was influenced by his family, education and struggle to liberate Indonesia. Born into a family of scholars' who taught moral and social values. (2) National figures who have the idea of ​​Islamic Socialism are HOS Tjokroaminoto and Haji Agus Salim. The idea of ​​Islamic socialism from these two figures is an attempt to present that the teachings of Islam contain social values ​​which in the end are equality and equality. (3) The idea of ​​Islamic socialism that belongs to Mohammad Hatta is an attempt to relevance social values ​​in the teachings of Islam with the concepts of Socialism. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out about Kartosoewirjo's struggle in the formation of the Indonesian Islamic State in 1947-1962 in Malangbon, West Java. There are several problems examined in this paper, namely: 1) How is the biography of S.M. Kartosoewirjo 2) How was the condition of the government of the Republic of Indonesia which triggered the emergence of the Kartosoewirjo resistance movement 3) How was Kartosoewirjo's struggle in the formation of the Islamic State of Indonesia. To study this problem, researchers use historical methods, to find out historical facts about the biography of SM Kartosoewirjo and his struggles in forming the Islamic State of Indonesia. To analyze historical facts using approaches that are often used in historical research, namely historical, normative, and political approaches. This study found: 1) S.M. Kartosoewirjo was born on January 7, 1907. His father, Kartosuwirjo, was an orderly who was appointed as an employee by the Dutch, so that Kartosuwirjo could complete the education that Kartosuwirjo had received at the Dutch government at that time. 2) The struggle of a Kartosoewirjo to establish an Islamic state, by calling for Jihad Fi Sabilillah for its goals. Kartosuwirjo gave confidence and lessons about his understanding in government, a country based on the Koran and Hadith. 3) In a historical record in Indonesia, Kartosoewirjo was a rebel against the government of the republic of Indonesia. Abstract

Abstract: The focus of the study in this article is about the transition of Ulil Abshar Abdallla's thought. This research answers the problem of how the figure of an Ulil and the history of liberal Islam and the entry of liberal Islamic thought in Indonesia, especially the formation of the liberal Islamic network from 2002 to 2019. In this study the authors use the historical method by using secondary sources derived from literature. The author also conducts interviews through social media. This approach is useful in revealing how Ulil's thinking develops and knowing the dynamics of his thinking. In terms of theory, the author uses the theory of archeology of knowledge put forward by Michel Foucault, explaining that a development and conflict in life cannot be separated from previous life. And to find out a development, you have to re-collect previous and recent problems. From the results of this study it can be seen that Ulil was a person born from an NU family. He has quite a unique mind and caused a very interesting controversy. When he wrote an article entitled "Refreshing Understanding of Islam". Not only that, Ulil himself is the coordinator of the Liberal Islam Network. An organization that voices the thoughts and ideas of young intellectuals freely to the public. Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the views of Abd. A'la on religious pluralism. The problems discussed to obtain data in writing this thesis are: 1). What is the biography of Abd A'la, 2). What is Abd A'la's view of religious pluralism in Indonesia, and 3). How is the effort to realize the value of religious pluralism based on Pancasila values. In writing this article the research method used is the historical research method using four stages, including: heuristics (source collection), verification (source criticism), interpretation (interpretation of sources) and historiography (history writing). The first approach used in this study is the historical approach. Both approaches are descriptive qualitative. While the theory used is the structural functional theory put forward by Talcott Parsons. The results of this research article are (1). Abd A'la is a historical intellectual figure at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya who is an expert in the history of the development of Islamic thought. He is the son of Mr. KH. Ahmad Bashir and Nyai Hj. Umamah Makkiyah, who was born in Madura on September 5, 1957. Many written works have been published, including books discussing pluralism. (2). In his view, the values ​​of religious pluralism in Indonesia have been well instilled by Indonesian society. (3). The occurrence of various conflicts that occurred in Indonesia has a negative impact that will divide the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation. Keywords: pluralism, religion, differences

Abstract

Abstract: This article examines the Jemblung Islamic art which is popular in Kediri. The focus of the research discussed in this thesis are (1) How did the Jemblung art appear in Kediri (2) What are the elements contained in the Jemblung Islamic Art in Kediri Regency (3) What are the the values ​​contained in Jemblung Islamic Art in Kediri Regency. This study uses cultural methods, namely first data collection, interviews, observation, documentation, data processing, data analysis and the last is interpretation. An anthropological approach is used to explain how to know Jemblung art in Kediri. The theory used by ethnomusicological theory is to analyze the richness of music itself and its function and meaning for society. The researcher concludes that Jemblung is a jarwo dosok which means jenjem-jenjem ewong gemblung (the serene feeling felt by crazy people). This understanding is thought to originate from the tradition of performing Jemblung which places performers of this art like crazy people. Other sources say that the term Jemblung comes from the word gemblung which means crazy. Jemblung in Kediri originates from the myth of Sunan Ngudung who once meditated and had a dream of meditating while accompanied by a tambourine and jidor that read "blung" which became the forerunner of the Jemblung art. Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the traditional Jaranan and Bantengan arts in the Muslim community of Kediri. This research focuses on: 1) What is the background of the emergence of Jaranan and Bantengan in the area 2) What is the series of activities for Jaranan and Bantengan 3) What are the views of the scholars towards Jaranan and Bantengan. This arts research uses qualitative research methods as well as cognitive anthropological theory to understand the problems involved in the research. The data analysis technique used in the Jaranan and Bantengan arts research is a descriptive data analysis technique, where data is presented based on what is obtained from informants and written sources as is. The results of this study are that the relationship between humans and culture that exists in the Jaranan and Bantengan arts can be seen in the Jaranan and Bantengan art activities in the Muslim residential environment in Kuwik village. Not only that. However, Muslim leaders in the village of Kuwik also have different views on the art of jaranan and banteng. From the Muhammadiyah leadership, they consider this to be bid'ah, including shirk, while Nahdlatul Ulama figures believe that the arts are permissible as a form of tolerance, because whatever what is done while not causing harm in Islam is permissible. Abstract

Abstract: The lack of culinary treasures in our historical literature is the background of this research. Therefore, this study aims to find out the history and philosophy of Tumpeng in the tradition of pre-Islamic Javanese society and to understand the development of Tumpeng in the bancakan tradition of Javanese society after the arrival of Islamic influence. This study uses historical (historical) research methods which include heuristic methods, source verification, text interpretation, and historiography, as well as using a gastronomic approach. Apart from that, this study also uses the theory of symbolic culture based on Clifford Geertz's version as a tool for historical analysis. The results of this study found several historical facts, namely: 1) Tumpeng is a food that has existed since the Javanese people still embraced the Kapitayan belief, which is served and offered as a means to worship "God" which they believe is something that cannot be explained and cannot be reached by the five senses, or better known as Sang Hyang Tunggal. 2) After the Hindu-Buddhist influence entered and took root firmly in the beliefs of the Javanese people, the shape of Tumpeng began to change into a cone (mountain). 3) After the spread of Islam carried out by Walisongo through a process of assimilation and syncretization of culture which was previously thick with the teachings of Kapitayan and Hindu-Buddhist beliefs into a culture that has internalized Islamic values, Tumpeng automatically also experiences a shift in values.
