Abstract

Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. According to WHO, CVD accounts for an estimated 17.9 million deaths annually. In the Western Pacific region, CVD contributes to 40% of deaths, approximately 5.7 million cases. This trend is projected to rise by 91.2% between 2025 and 2050. In Indonesia, the prevalence of CVD reached 0.85%, or approximately 877,531 cases, in 2023. PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) Site MLP faces similar challenges with an increasing risk of CVD among its employees. Between 2022 and 2023, two cases of CVDrelated fatalities occurred in the workplace, and data showed a 30% increase in employees at risk of CVD compared to the previous year. The highest risk factors include active smoking (45%), BMI >30 (14%), high cholesterol (13%), elevated triglycerides (11%), hypertension (4%), and diabetes (2%). This study aims to reduce the risk of CVD among employees by 50% through the implementation of the Heart Health Heroes Program. The program's targets include a 100% reduction in high- and mediumrisk categories and a 50% reduction in the low-risk category, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero cases of CVD-related fatalities by 2024. Additionally, the program seeks to improve employee health levels by reducing the Crude Mortality Rate (CMR) and Absence Severity Rate (ASR). The research utilizes an Experimental Factorial Design method with a quantitative approach. Data were collected from the employees' Medical Check-Up (MCU) records for 2022 and 2023. CVD risk was categorized using the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) into three categories: low risk (FRS <10%), medium risk (FRS 10–19%), and high risk (FRS >20%). The data analysis technique employed is quantitative data analysis. The results showed a significant reduction in cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk across all categories, with the highest reduction observed in the High Risk category, which decreased by 75%. Overall, there was a 40% reduction in CVD risk among all employees at PT Putra Perkasa Abadi Site MLP. Key risk factor reductions included hypertension (71%), diabetes (50%), active smoking (42%), BMI >30 and cholesterol (36%), and triglycerides (29%). These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the program in managing CVD risk factors.

Abstract

A learning method that is easy for children to understand can enhance their ability to grasp the material being taught. The previous method used to introduce children to animal classification was through books. However, using books to explain animal classification to children is less effective due to the limited interactivity between children and the material provided. Interactive learning media is a solution that can be used to increase interactivity and help children better understand the given material. This study employs the Luther-Sutopo method and aims to develop interactive learning media. The result is an interactive learning tool about animal classification based on their diet, featuring quizzes, images, games, and interactive videos.

Abstract

Weaving workers at the Lurik Indah Klasik Industry in Klaten are at risk of experiencing healthproblems caused by repetitive movements performed over long periods. One of the most commoncomplaints is hand pain, which can result from continuous muscle and joint strain without sufficientmovement variation or adequate rest. The weaving activity requires constant use of the hands and wrists, which increases the risk of muscle fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders. This study aims to determinethe relationship between repetitive movements and hand pain symptoms among weaving workers atLurik Indah Klasik Industry, Klaten. The research design employed an observational analytic approachwith a cross-sectional method. The study population consisted of 28 workers, and all were included asresearch subjects using the total sampling technique. The instrument used to assess pain levels was theNumeric Rating Scale (NRS), while the relationship analysis was conducted using the Somers’d test. The results showed a significant relationship between repetitive movements and hand pain symptoms, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.583, indicating a moderate relationship. These findings suggestthat the higher the frequency and duration of repetitive movements, the more likely workers are toexperience hand pain. Therefore, ergonomic interventions such as implementing rest breaks, introducing movement variation, and improving working posture are recommended to reduce the riskof hand pain among weaving workers.

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a fruit rich in fiber, vitamin C and β-carotene. Mango production in Indonesia is quite high, but export value is still low due to various post-harvest problems. Maturity level is one of the keys in the mango trade, but it is difficult to maintain due to the climatic nature of the fruit. A grading process is required to separate mangoes with optimal ripeness levels until they reach consumers. Maturity level can be measured through various parameters, including physical and chemical attributes. There are two methods to determine the ripeness of mango fruit, destructive and non-destructive. The destructive method uses bay flower extract as a pH indicator. The non-destructive method uses double ring resonator technology, HSI color space transformation, and fruit position in water. The results show that the HSI color space transformation method is more recommended because it is simpler and more efficient.
