Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the level of mothers' knowledge about primary immunization for infants in the working area of Puskesmas Kassi-Kassi Makassar City. Research Design and Methodology: This study used a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 37 mothers with babies aged 0-12 months who visited the Kassi-Kassi Health Centre in February 2023. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. Findings and Discussion: The results showed that most mothers had a good understanding of primary immunization, including its definition, purpose, and benefits. The level of education and access to adequate information significantly influenced this knowledge. Most respondents knew that immunization protects infants and children against tuberculosis, pertussis, hepatitis, measles, and poliomyelitis. However, some mothers still lack adequate knowledge, which is often caused by low educational levels and limited access to information. Implications: This study makes a significant contribution to the field of public health by demonstrating the relationship between education level, access to information, and mothers' knowledge of immunization. These results can inform the development of more effective health education policies and programs. This study also emphasizes the importance of ongoing support from healthcare workers in offering counseling on primary immunization. Further efforts are needed to improve mothers' immunization knowledge through intensive and comprehensive extension programs.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effectiveness of integrative medicine in managing chronic pain, investigating various complementary therapies, including acupuncture and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Research Design and Methodology: This study employed a mixed-methods approach, conducting a systematic review of existing literature and analyzing quantitative data to assess the impact of integrative interventions on chronic pain outcomes. Findings and Discussion: The research findings suggest that integrative medicine modalities, including acupuncture and mindfulness-based interventions, demonstrate promising results in reducing pain intensity, improving physical function, and enhancing overall well-being among individuals with chronic pain. However, limitations such as small sample sizes and short-term follow-up periods underscore the need for further research to validate these findings and explore long-term efficacy. Implications: These findings have a significant impact on scientific knowledge and clinical practice in the management of chronic pain. Integrative medicine offers a holistic and patient-centered approach that complements conventional treatments, highlighting the potential to address the multifaceted nature of chronic pain and improve patient's quality of life. Future research should focus on overcoming methodological limitations and integrating integrative approaches into mainstream healthcare to optimize patient care.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the role of nursing interventions in enhancing patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes, focusing on personalized care, interdisciplinary collaboration, technological integration, and continuous professional development. Research Design and Methodology: A mixed-methods design was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. A stratified random sample of 500 patients and 100 nurses across various healthcare settings was utilized. Data collection involved structured surveys measuring patient satisfaction and health outcomes alongside semi-structured interviews exploring experiences with nursing interventions. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical techniques, while thematic analysis was employed for the qualitative data. Findings and Discussion: The study found significant positive correlations between nursing interventions and improved patient satisfaction and outcomes. Personalized nursing care and tailored interventions led to higher patient satisfaction and improved management of chronic conditions. Interdisciplinary collaboration enhanced care quality through comprehensive and coordinated efforts supported by effective communication. Technological integration, including telehealth and electronic health records, has improved care efficiency and accessibility. Continuous professional development was crucial for maintaining high standards of care, as ongoing training had a positive impact on nurse competence and patient satisfaction. Implications: The findings underscore the importance of strategic investments in personalized care, interdisciplinary collaboration, technological infrastructure, and professional development to enhance patient outcomes. Healthcare providers and policymakers can utilize these insights to develop more effective nursing practices and policies, ultimately improving the quality of patient care. Future research should address the study's limitations by including more significant, diverse populations and exploring the long-term effects of nursing interventions.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the impact of public health policies on the control of communicable diseases, focusing on vaccination programs, sanitation and hygiene initiatives, quarantine measures, community engagement, and socio-economic implications. Research Design and Methodology: This study employed a qualitative research design. It involved semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with public health officials, healthcare providers, and community members. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes relevant to the research questions. Findings and Discussion: The findings reveal that well-coordinated vaccination campaigns significantly reduce disease incidence, while sanitation and hygiene initiatives effectively control waterborne diseases. Quarantine measures, although challenging, are effective when accompanied by clear communication and community trust. The study highlights the critical role of community engagement in enhancing policy acceptance and adherence, supported by socio-economic benefits, including reduced healthcare costs and improved workforce productivity. The findings align with existing theories on the social determinants of health and the importance of sustainable health systems. Implications: The study highlights the importance of sustained investment in public health infrastructure, equitable access to healthcare, and the integration of health policies with broader socio-economic objectives. Policymakers should prioritize culturally and contextually relevant interventions and foster community involvement to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of public health strategies. Future research should employ mixed-methods approaches and longitudinal studies to validate and extend these findings, providing more profound insights into the long-term impacts of public health policies on communicable disease control.
