Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the influence of leadership style, motivation, and training on employee performance at the Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of South Sulawesi Province. Research Design and Methodology: This research employs a quantitative descriptive method. The population consists of 204 employees, with a sample of 67 respondents selected using Slovin's formula. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees. The analysis techniques used include descriptive statistical analysis, validity and reliability tests, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, autocorrelation test, linearity test, and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, and F-test. Findings and Discussion: The results show that leadership style does not significantly influence employee performance, while motivation has a positive but insignificant effect. In contrast, training positively and substantially influences employee performance, which is vital in improving work outcomes. Simultaneously, leadership style, motivation, and training positively and significantly affect employee performance, suggesting that these factors collectively enhance organizational performance. Implications: The findings imply that the Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of South Sulawesi Province should reconsider leadership strategies, enhance employee motivation, and consistently implement relevant training programs to improve employee performance. These efforts will help optimize employee productivity and organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the impact of Working Capital Turnover (WCT), Current Ratio (CR), and Debt-to-Asset Ratio (DAR) on Return on Assets (ROA) in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to understand their financial performance. Research Design and Methodology: The study uses a quantitative approach with purposive sampling, selecting ten primary food and beverage manufacturing companies listed on IDX. Secondary data from corporate financial reports are analyzed using multiple linear regression and statistical tests, including descriptive analysis, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, t-tests, and F-tests. Findings and Discussion: The results indicate that WCT has a negative and insignificant effect on ROA, CR has a negative and significant impact, and DAR has a positive and insignificant effect. However, simultaneous testing confirms that WCT, CR, and DAR collectively have a significant impact on ROA, emphasizing the role of financial management in profitability. Implications: These findings offer financial managers and investors valuable insights into optimizing working capital, liquidity, and financial leverage to enhance profitability. Businesses should balance liquidity and debt management to maximize returns. Future research can explore additional financial metrics across different industries for broader insights.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine (1) the effect of service quality on customer loyalty, (2) the effect of product attributes on customer loyalty, and (3) to determine whether service quality or product attributes have a more dominant influence on customer loyalty at KFC Pengayoman in Makassar. Research Design and Methodology: The study employs a field research method, with primary data collected directly from KFC Pengayoman customers in Makassar. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, and literature reviews. Respondents were customers who purchased products from KFC Pengayoman, and secondary data was gathered through relevant documents to complement the primary data. Findings and Discussion: The results showed that service quality has a significant effect and is the dominant factor in customer loyalty, while product attributes have no significant impact. This finding emphasizes the importance of maintaining service quality to increase customer loyalty, especially in the fast food industry. Implications: The findings suggest that managers should prioritize improving service quality while continuously innovating product attributes to meet customer expectations and remain competitive. A strong focus on service excellence will enhance customer retention and brand strength in a competitive market.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effect of working capital elements, including cash turnover, receivables turnover, inventory turnover, and current liabilities turnover, on profitability (ROA) in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The research focuses on understanding whether efficient management of these working capital components influences the companies' profitability. Research Design and Methodology: This study's population includes 16 food and beverage companies listed on the IDX from 2014 to 2016. Using purposive sampling, 10 companies were selected as the final sample. This research relies on quantitative data derived from company financial statements as secondary data. The analysis includes classical assumption tests (normality, autocorrelation, and multicollinearity) and hypothesis testing using partial (t-test), simultaneous (F-test), and determination coefficient tests to assess the influence of the independent variables on profitability. Findings and Discussion: The study finds that cash and inventory turnover has a positive but insignificant effect on profitability (ROA), indicating that efficient management of these components does not substantially increase profitability. Meanwhile, receivables and current liabilities turnover shows a negative but insignificant effect on ROA, suggesting these components do not significantly influence profitability. Implications: The results imply that while working capital elements affect operational efficiency, they do not significantly drive profitability. Thus, companies should focus on managing working capital and other strategic factors to improve financial performance.

Abstract

This study's objective was to examine and determine the impact of work motivation and work discipline on employee performance at PT. PLN (Persero) Transmission Implementation Unit (UPT) MAKASSAR. This study's demographic consisted of 50 employees from PT PLN (PERSERO) Transmission Implementation Unit (UPT) MAKASSAR. Using census sampling, all populations are represented in the sample. The data source is primary data obtained from respondents' responses to questionnaires. The data analysis method entails descriptive statistical analysis, validity tests, normality tests, reliability tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, autocorrelation tests, hypothesis testing via multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, f-tests, and determination coefficient tests. This study's findings indicate that work motivation positively and statistically significantly influences employee performance. While the work discipline variable has a positive but insignificant effect on employee performance, this study demonstrates that work motivation and work discipline together significantly impact employee performance. The results of this study show conclusively that the positive relationship between work motivation and work discipline on employee performance is a crucial factor in achieving company success, as employees who are motivated and disciplined at work tend to contribute more significantly to achieving company objectives.
