Abstract

Pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) is a type of fish that has great potential to be cultivated and has high economic value, both in local and international markets. However, one of the challenges in its cultivation is infection by pathogenic microorganisms, including viruses. One of the viruses that can infect pomfret fish is Megalocytivirus. Fish infected with Megalocytivirus generally show clinical symptoms in the form of behavioral changes, such as decreased appetite, weak swimming and less activity. Rapid and accurate detection methods are needed to effectively identify the presence of Megalocytivirus. This research aims to detect Megalocytivirus in pomfret fish cultivated at BPBL, Lombok using Real-Time PCR. This research method includes taking, extracting DNA samples and amplifying DNA. The results showed that pomfret fish were positive for Megalocytivirus attack, characterized by an accumulation of fluorescent signals that crossed the threshold line with a cycle threshold (Ct) or quantification cycle value of <35.

Abstract

The Balitbangtan KUB chicken is a new superior variety of native chicken produced by the Agricultural Research and Development Agency. To increase the productivity of KUB chickens, high-quality feed is required. One local feed that has good nutritional value for chickens is the Moringa (Moringa oleifera) plant. Moringa, a type of legume, can be used as a source of protein for chicken growth. This study aimed to determine the effect of Moringa leaf meal on the growth quality of KUB chickens. Twenty 8-week-old KUB chickens were allocated to this study and divided into four treatment groups: (p0) = treatment without Moringa, (p1) = treatment with 2% Moringa leaves, (p2) = treatment with 5% Moringa leaves, and (p3) = treatment with 10% Moringa leaves. Data were analyzed statistically using the independent sample t-4 test or unpaired t-test using Microsoft Excel. Observed parameters included daily body weight gain, body weight gain, carcass weight, and non-carcass weight. The results showed that the addition of KUB chicken feed significantly affected the average final body weight of 1,300 g/chicken over 18 weeks, with a body weight gain of 600 g/chicken, a slaughter weight of 1,300 g, a carcass weight of 5,720 g/chicken, and a feed conversion ratio of 5.15. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the supply chain of beef at the Bangkong and finance, as well as distribution efficiency in the beef marketing system. The method used is a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to farmers, traders, retailers, and consumers. The result show that the length of the supply chai affects the increasing sellng price of beef at the consumer level. The product flow goes from farmers to consumers through several intermediaters, while the flow of information and finance has not been efficiently integrated. The result of this stuy indicate that the farmer’share is 80% for farmer’s 80% for live cattle traders, 64% for retailers, and marketing efficiency is 2.8%. Costsin the Distribution costs, marketing margins, and farmer’s share indicate that the supply chain efficiency is still relatively low. Therefore, efforts to streamline distribution channels and improve coordination among stakeholders are necessary to enhance efficiency and stabilize beef prices in the market.

Abstract

This study evaluates pollution load, water quality status, biodegradability characteristics, and ecological pressure in the Sringin River, Semarang City, Central Java. Key parameters analyzed included Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and lead (Pb), supported by measurements of discharge, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), and salinity using purposive sampling across three river segments. The results show increasing pollution from upstream to downstream, with BOD ranging from 6.2 to 12.2 mg/L, COD from 302 to 327 mg/L, TSS up to 151 mg/L, and Pb concentrations reaching 7.31 mg/L—far exceeding the quality standard of 0.03 mg/L. Dissolved oxygen remained above 7 mg/L but exhibited spatial fluctuation, while the BOD/COD ratio (< 0.3–0.4) indicates the dominance of partially non-biodegradable waste that slows natural self-purification. Pb accumulation in water, sediments, and aquatic biota suggests potential ecological and human health risks through bioaccumulation and biomagnification. Overall, the Sringin River experiences chronic ecological pressure due to combined organic and inorganic pollution, emphasizing the need for source-based pollution control, continuous monitoring, and ecological risk–oriented water quality management to sustain aquatic ecosystem functions.
