Abstract

Mainstream Islamic studies in the past generally emphasized normative theological approaches that were theocentric so that there were sides of humanity that were missed, even likely to beconsidered 'against' the sacredness of the text. That's why an anthropocentric approach is important to draw into the mainstream. One of the most important approaches is the sociological approach.  The purpose of this research is to reveal new approaches in Islamic studies mainly using sociological approaches. The methodology used in this article uses descriptive analysis(historical)using library studies as the main source of discussion. The results of this study show that the model of sociological Islamic studies that focuses on the interaction of religion (Islam) and society is important to develop. This is a new tradition of Islamic studies that further upholds the dignity of human being. The implications of these findings may presenta new way in Islamic studies especially on two main things at once: (1) reconstructing Islamicsciences; and (2) building social and humanities basedon Islamic epistemology.

Abstract

The trend of increasing the number of disputes dispute assignment in religious courts at least shows that the dispute over the distribution of the estate remains a special polemic for people's lives. The unification of unruly inheritance was also a contributing factor to the increasing number of petitions of the heir to the court. Indeed, the problem of distribution of intangible assets that is not done fairly will potentially damage fraternity. To avoid such problems, it is necessary to look back at the wisdom of our ancestors in addressing the problems of the inheritance law dispute. One can be found in the manuscript "that will be the inheritance of the dead" can at least be used as a jurisprudence to the settlement of the estate dispute. Hopefully, with such jurisprudence will be able to provide alternative solutions for the establishment of heirs. Moreover, with the discovery of the jurisprudence records will also be used as a consideration material to immediately realize the unification of the inheritance law, hopefully will also be able to reduce property disputes.

Abstract

This paper is derived from the result of the researcher’s ethnographic research. It contains a description of moslem behavior in folllowing Khutbat Al-Jum'a in Jumu’ah prayer. It discusses moslem viewpoints, customs, needs, and beliefs toward Khutbat Al-Jum'a presentation. It aims at giving ‘a potrait’ of a particular moslem culture on the Islamic practices. In collecting the data, the researcher used some instruments through some ways. The researcher was the main (human) instrument in this research. In addition, the researcher used interview guideline for obtaining data about the viewpoints, customs, needs, and beliefs toward Khutbat Al-Jum'a in Jumu’ah prayer participants.  Furthermore, the researcher employed field-notes while she was obeserving the practice of Khutbat Al-Jum'a in Jumu’ah prayer.  Last, the researcher documented the process of Khutbat Al-Jum'a presentation using camera. Finally, it resulted  a developing theoretical ideas from the frame description and contributed to a refinement and betterment on Khutbat Al-Jum'a presentation.

Abstract

This study revealed the ethical conduct towards students implied in the Quran, specifically Surah Al-Kahf verses 60-82, as interpreted in Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir Al-Misbah. The primary source of this library research was the Quraish Shihab’s work of Qur’anic interpretation, Tafsir Al-Misbah. Meanwhile, Tafsir al-Azhar and Tafsir al-Qurtubi were employed as the secondary sources. This study aimed at describing the ethical conduct towards students as contained in the Qur’an, specifically Surah Al-Kahf verses 60-82, based on Quraish Shihab’s Tafsir Al-Misbah. The data were collected using documentation technique and analyzed using content analysis approach. Based on the results, the ethical conduct towards students as implied in Surah Al-Kahf requires educators to be a knowledge-humble person, teach with affection, avoid overburdening students, set class rules, create constructive learning environment, be a patient educator, and present a material in small steps. It is expected that the results can be a benchmark for educators, teachers, lecturers, and religious teachers in carrying out their duties.

Abstract

Sejak memasuki milenium baru, otoritas keagamaan Islam mulai berkontestasi dengan keagamaan ekstremisme. Ruang seperti mimbar masjid, sekolah, akademik, dan media cetak atau online tergantikan dengan media-media mainstream yang bermuatan konservatif. Fenomena ini memiliki tiga variasi yakni latar belakang, argumen, dan kepentingan. Jika dilihat dari latar belakangnya, bukan hal baru, ia mencakup ustaz uban, muallaf, dan akadeimisi. Tulisan ini mencoba menawarkan solusi dengan cara re-interpretasi ayat-ayat Al-Quran yang mana dijadikan sumber otoritas mereka. Dengan pendekatan sosio-historis melalui tafsir tematik, hermeneutika (untuk menemukan dimensi baru terkait pesan moral universal sebuah teks dan dalam konteks apa teks itu ditulis, bagaimana spirit pandangan hidup yang terkandung dalam teks) dan pandangan tafsir maqashidi (supaya menemukan tujuan, signifikasi, dan ideal moral sekaligus), serta kritik ideologi dengan pelacakan ayat-ayat Al-Quran yang dipakai mereka, hasil kajian ini mengungkap bahwa Al-Quran telah menjelaskan Islam tidak mengajarkan ekstremisme, radikalisme, dan konservatisme. Islam mengajarkan praktik moderasi, perdamaian, dan prularisme.

Abstract

TikTok as a new social media provides many features for users to self-generate content expressively. In its platform, most of users producing dancing content excessively and some of the users are women who wear hijab. This article will examine the concept of hijab and hijab women in digital sphere like TikTok. The method of this article utilizes qualitative and it also take library research for looking some theories of hijab and digital sphere phenomena. The result shows that many Muslim scholars consider that dancing is allowed in four condition, which are no alcohol, no gender mix, no effeminate moves, and not to do it excessively. By those condition, this article invites Muslim scholars to question the phenomena on digital sphere.
