Abstract

This research examines the urgency of moral education in the modern Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum amidst the challenges of globalization and rapid technological development. The main problem that becomes the focus of this study is the weakening of moral values and character of students due to foreign cultural influences and the lack of comprehensive implementation of moral education in contemporary PAI learning. This research uses library research method with descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data sources were obtained from books and scientific journals relevant to moral education and PAI curriculum, while secondary data came from articles, previous research results, and educational policy documents. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing steps. The research results show that moral education has a very high urgency in the modern PAI curriculum as the foundation for forming noble character of students. The integration of moral education in the PAI curriculum has proven effective in forming personalities with noble character, increasing spiritual awareness, and protecting students from negative environmental influences. Holistic implementation of moral education requires collaboration between teachers, parents, and society and is supported by innovative and contextual learning methods in accordance with the times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of wordwall media to increase students' interest in learning Indonesian language lessons at SDN Parsanga IV. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method which aims to provide an in-depth description of experiences and perceptions related to the phenomenon to be studied. Qualitative data acquisition was carried out by observation, interview, and documentation. This research was conducted at SDN Parsanga IV. The results showed that the use of wordwall media in Indonesian language lessons was able to attract students' interest in learning which could be seen from the increase in student activeness and involvement during the learning process. Indonesian language learning on the material of majas and stylistics which was originally difficult to understand by students because students were less focused during the learning process has now turned into fun and interesting because the wordwall display is able to attract students' attention with a variety of templates.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in learning the subject of Qur'an Hadith in class X MAN 2 Padangsidimpuan. Merdeka Curriculum is a transformation of national education that emphasizes student-aligned learning, project-based learning, and strengthening character through the Pancasila Rahmatan lil 'Alamin Student Profile (P5RA). This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, teacher interviews, and document analysislearning. The results showed that the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum has been carried out by adjusting the Qur'an Hadith teaching module with a contextual approach, utilizing religious projects as a medium for internalizing Qur'an values, and implementing formative assessments to measure student learning achievements holistically. However, several obstacles such as limited teacher training and adaptation to teaching tools are still challenges in the implementation process. In general, the Merdeka Curriculum has a positive impact on students' motivation and active participation in learning Qur'an Hadith.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping intelligent, character-driven, and adaptive generations in response to the dynamics of modern times. Teachers serve as the main component in ensuring the quality of the learning process through the implementation of educational process standards, which include planning, implementation, and evaluation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational process standards, the challenges faced by teachers, and the characteristics of a professional teacher’s identity in the context of modern education. The findings reveal that the implementation of educational process standards in schools is still not optimal due to limited time, facilities, and the lack of continuous training for teachers. Moreover, many teachers face difficulties in adapting to curriculum changes and technological advancements. On the other hand, professional teachers are characterized by strong pedagogical competence, innovative teaching abilities, mastery of educational technology, and integrity with a firm commitment to their profession. With increased professionalism and support from various stakeholders, teachers are expected to become agents of change in creating effective, creative, and relevant learning aligned with the demands of the digital era

Abstract

The integration of Islamic values into the learning process is an essential effort in shaping student character within Islamic higher education institutions, including the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan. This study was conducted to obtain an overview of how Islamic values are internalized throughout academic activities so that they do not remain merely theoretical concepts. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation involving lecturers and students. The findings indicate that Islamic values are integrated through lecturers’ exemplary behavior, the habituation of religious academic culture, the embedding of moral principles in course materials, and the creation of a learning environment that supports Islamic character development. These results show that the integration of Islamic values contributes to increased learning motivation, discipline, and students’ sense of responsibility. Based on these findings, the study concludes that the integration process has been implemented effectively, although strengthening is still needed in terms of consistency and continuous evaluation.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the field of education, particularly on the character formation of students who live in an era of unlimited information. Although digitalization offers various opportunities—such as easy access to knowledge, interactive learning media, and expanded learning spaces—it also presents serious challenges, including digital inequality, exposure to negative content, cyberbullying, and reduced direct social interaction. This study employs a library research method by reviewing relevant literature, scientific journals, and written works to analyze strategies in Islamic education for shaping student character in the digital era. The findings indicate that Islamic education plays a crucial role in cultivating moral, spiritual, and social values through character education, which includes religiosity, nationalism, independence, cooperation, and integrity. Digital-era challenges such as imbalance in social media use, digital safety risks, cyberbullying, and plagiarism require educators to implement creative teaching approaches, digital supervision, role modeling, and strong digital literacy. The study concludes that character education based on Islamic values is an essential strategy for developing students who are not only intellectually capable but also morally upright, critical, and responsible in navigating rapid technological advancements. Collaboration among teachers, families, and communities is vital to ensure consistent and effective character development.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of integrating Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values into the teaching and learning process of Islamic da‘wah, particularly through material design and curriculum development capable of shaping students’ character, religious understanding, and da‘wah competencies holistically. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, curriculum document analysis, and data collection through interviews with PAI educators and da‘wah practitioners. The findings indicate that integrating PAI values into the design of learning materials and the Islamic da‘wah curriculum can be achieved through establishing value-based learning objectives, selecting materials relevant to contemporary needs, applying participatory learning strategies, and strengthening evaluation systems based on spiritual and social competencies. The study concludes that material and curriculum designs integrated with PAI values effectively enhance the quality of da‘wah learning, reinforce moral internalization, and encourage students to become knowledgeable, moderate, and well-characterized da‘i. This research recommends the development of an adaptive, contextual Islamic da‘wah curriculum oriented toward 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has faced unique moral challenges for Generation Z, such as easily distracted attention, a relative attitude toward right and wrong, and weakened integrity due to excessive exposure to uncontrolled virtual content. On the other hand, the Prophet's Sirah (Religious Life) offers a comprehensive model for developing noble character, emphasizing the balance between spiritual closeness, emotional stability, and mental resilience when faced with complex moral issues. Based on this, this study proposes a model of moral education based on the Prophet's Sirah, specifically tailored to the characteristics of Generation Z through digital, interactive, and project-based learning. The method used is a literature review and the preparation of a conceptual model, by analyzing the suitability of prophetic values ​​​​with the characteristics of Generation Z, including their tendency to seek authenticity in the digital world, think independently, and build solidarity networks in virtual communities. The conclusion of this study explains that the integration of Sirah Nabawiyah into adaptive and technology-based teaching strategies is seen as having strong potential to strengthen the moral immunity of Generation Z in the digital era, while encouraging the formation of an ethical and complete identity, sustainable, open, dynamic, and bringing change towards a better direction.

Abstract

This study examines the role of youth in enhancing the religious awareness of the community in Simpang Duhu Lombang Village, Ulu Pungkut Sub-district, Mandailing Natal Regency. The research is grounded in the notion that youth function as agents of social and religious change, especially within rural communities. Using a qualitative case study approach supported by observation, interviews, and documentation, the study identifies the significant involvement of youth in organizing and promoting religious activities such as Qur’an recitation gatherings, mosque youth programs, and children’s Islamic education. Their initiatives also reinforce Islamic ethics and moral values through socio-religious activities that emphasize solidarity and collective participation. Despite these positive contributions, the study reveals several constraints that limit youth performance, including inadequate facilities, inconsistent public support, and the growing influence of modernization and social media on youth behaviour  To address these challenges, youth employ strategies such as strengthening mosque youth leadership, increasing educational and religious activities, and collaborating with religious leaders to improve program effectiveness. Enhanced collaboration among religious leaders, village authorities, and community members is essential to sustain and expand the youth’s contribution.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has introduced significant transformations in how teaching, learning, and assessment processes are conducted. AI offers various benefits, including personalized learning paths, intelligent tutoring systems, and administrative efficiency. However, its implementation also presents a range of critical challenges that must be addressed to ensure its effective and ethical use in educational settings. One major concern is data privacy and the ethical handling of student information, especially as AI systems rely heavily on data collection and analysis. Additionally, algorithmic bias can lead to unfair treatment or reinforce existing educational inequalities if not properly managed. The lack of digital infrastructure and technological literacy in some regions may widen the digital divide, limiting access to AI-enhanced education for marginalized communities. Furthermore, over-reliance on AI tools could reduce meaningful human interaction and the role of educators in shaping character, values, and social-emotional learning. The rapid evolution of AI technologies also demands continuous updates in teacher training and curriculum design. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration between educators, technologists, and policymakers to develop clear ethical guidelines, promote equitable access, and ensure that AI serves as a supportive tool rather than a replacement. Ultimately, the goal is to leverage AI to enhance, not hinder, the human-centered nature of education.
