Scope: Music Research: Interlude embraces original research articles that delve into diverse areas of music scholarship, such as musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, music history, and inter-disciplinary studies. It is encouraged that researchers investigate the historical contexts, cultural influences, and theoretical frameworks that shape the world of music.Music Development: The journal encourages submissions that investigate the creative process, composition, arrangement, and performance aspects of music development. <![CDATA[Animated comedy and adventure films are highly enjoyable to watch. In addition to being an enjoyable film, it is also suitable for viewers of all ages, ranging from children to adults. Furthermore, films of this genre are often sought after by families seeking weekend entertainment. In addition to being captivating to watch, films in this genre typically aim to impart a moral message. The "Toy Story" is a well-known animated comedy about friendship and adventure. It effectively conveys a message of friendship, a familiar theme to viewers. The film's soundtrack, "You've Got a Friend in Me", is highly memorable and strongly associated with the movie. This essay will examine the audio of this renowned film. In this study, we employed qualitative methodologies. Qualitative methods refer to research approaches that aim to comprehend phenomena in a research object by describing them using language. This study aims to analyze the musical composition of the film "Toy Story" theme song to understand its characteristics and elements comprehensively. Data collection was conducted through discography investigations, book reviews, and observations. Discographic study involves analyzing, describing, and explaining the results of auditory experiences. We examined the "Toy Story" theme song in audio format, accessible on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, and the musical score. The purpose was to facilitate the evaluation of the song's form, structure, and musical elements. "You've Got a Friend in Me" exhibits a higher level of complexity in terms of chords and melody than a usual song. It surpasses the average in chord complexity, melodic complexity, chord melodic tension, chord progression novelty, and chord-bass melodies.]]>

<![CDATA[A vocal group is a group of individuals with singing skills united in one Group with different vocal voices. Several voice levels in vocal groups range from soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. In the presentation of vocal groups, two aspects need to be considered: musical and non-musical. Some examples of musical aspects that need to be considered in group vocals are intonation, timbre, dynamics, technique, and arrangement of works. Apart from that, non-musical aspects also play an essential role in the presentation of vocal groups. Some examples of musical aspects that must be considered are costumes, props, and choreography. This research discusses choreography in Partere Voce, where the choreography can influence the breathing strength of the singers, so vocal group members need specific singing techniques. The method used for this research is data collection through interviews and observations. Researchers participated in the competition activities so that they knew the field conditions and felt what was complained about; after that, the researchers tried to find the main points of the problem and solutions to the perceived problems.]]>

<![CDATA[This study explores the intricate structure of "Time", a piece in Hans Zimmer's. The study aims to analyze the complex layers of "Time" and its influence on the overall impression of the picture. The primary study question investigates how the structural components of the composition, such as its recurring motifs, slow progression, and emotional climaxes, correspond to and amplify the movie's examination of time and reality. The process entails a qualitative analysis utilizing a literature review and an observational assessment of the film's audio-visual synchronization. By analyzing scholarly publications and conducting a literature study, the research reveals how Zimmer's minimalist approach and his inventive utilization of electronic sounds produce a distinctive auditory encounter that reflects the film's themes. Examining pivotal scenes that prominently display the concept of "Time" allows us to understand the intentional decisions made in the composition and execution of the music. The research findings indicate that the intricate composition of "Time" greatly amplifies the viewer's sense of being fully engaged in the film. The changing dynamics and recurring patterns of the piece not only mirror the emotional progress of the characters but also act as a guiding force for the viewer, helping them navigate through the complex storyline of the film. The emotional trajectory depicted in "Time"—evolving from a state of tension and confusion to one of resolution and hope—mirrors the thematic trajectory of the film, emphasizing its crucial function as an integral element in the narrative process. This analysis illustrates that the popularity of "Inception" is not exclusively attributed to its visual and narrative originality but is equally ascribed to its refined utilization of music. "Time" demonstrates how film music may significantly impact the audience's emotional and intellectual involvement, solidifying its position as a significant piece in modern cinema.]]>

<![CDATA[This study analyzes the performance of the West Bandung Regency contingent at the Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (PORPROV) XIV Jawa Barat. It specifically focuses on how the strategic integration of music selection and thematic presentation might improve the overall performance. The marching band sport involves teams competing in four competitions. The competitions include Lomba Baris Berbaris (LBB) Marching Competition, Lomba Unjuk Gelar (LUG), Lomba Berbaris Jarak Pendek / Short Distance Marching Competition (LBJP), and Lomba Ketahanan dan Ketepatan Berbaris (LKKB) / The Endurance and Accuracy Marching Competition. In order to effectively engage audiences and judges, bands must enhance and perfect their aesthetic and thematic techniques as the level of competition increases. The study utilized a qualitative research methodology, which involved active involvement and careful observation for analysis. We participated in marching band activities and closely observed practices and performances in order to acquire a thorough comprehension of the aesthetic and conceptual components. Data were gathered via observations, and discussions and examined using an analytical framework rooted in the literature on music aesthetics and performance art. This framework evaluated the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and visual depiction. The results emphasize the significance of carefully choosing music, maintaining theme consistency, and using visual components to provide a captivating performance. The topic chosen by the West Bandung contingent, "Flight and Movement," together with their smart selection of music, showcased the ability of thoughtful curation and dynamic arrangements to amplify the story and emotional resonance. The utilization of intensive rehearsals and coordinated visual elements had a pivotal role in attaining elevated levels of audience engagement and competitive triumph.]]>

<![CDATA[This study examines the influence of trumpet musical aesthetics in Movement II of the Bandung Marching Band "Bandung 1946," emphasizing the deep correlation between visual and auditory components, historical backdrop, and cultural importance. The focus of this inquiry is the trumpet's capacity to augment a performance's impact through its visual presentation, ornamentation, and symbolic associations with tenacity and defiance, which are rooted in Indonesia's war for independence. The significance of this research is in comprehending how the trumpet's musical aesthetics enhance the total experience and emotional impact of the performance, guaranteeing that the legacy of "Bandung 1946" persists in inspiring and captivating audiences. A descriptive qualitative method was utilized to analyze this musical work's intricate and culturally rich nature. This method entails methodically gathering, arranging, and explaining data while capturing descriptive information through verbal or written language and observable behaviours. The research methodology employed observations and document analysis to collect extensive data on the trumpet's aesthetic and cultural importance. The findings demonstrate that the trumpet's precise synchronization with the music's rhythm and dynamics, strategic embellishments, and historical and cultural symbolism greatly enhance the performance. The combination of visual and audio elements in this synthesis results in a compelling and captivating experience that pays tribute to Indonesia's heritage and enhances its cultural narrative. The descriptive qualitative method successfully captured the intricate and subtle role of the trumpet, showcasing its significance in attaining a powerful and meaningful performance. This study emphasizes the crucial significance of musical aesthetics in establishing a connection between audiences and cultural and historical narratives through performance.]]>
