Abstract

Leadership is always an interesting topic to discuss because of its dynamic nature. There is no one single standard leadership concept. Every era and every context requires unique leadership system, pattern, and approach. Leadership in the Church requires the spirit of a good shepherd (pastor bonus). That is the main theme of this article. Wherefore Catholic Church is taken as the context and perspective, the reflection on leadership in this article refers to the official views in Church documents and the belief of the Pope Francis in Rome as the leader of the Church. The research results from Covey and Collins are also presented to show that the demands for basic pastoral and leadership characters in the Church are appropriate and relevant to the spirit of leadership needed today. This research uses a qualitative method that relies on literature study and critical reconstruction of thoughts based on the bibliographic data collected.

This article discusses the idea of a republic according to Tan Malaka in Naar de Republiek Indonesia, written by the famous Indonesian thinker, Tan Malaka. In this article, the author presents Tan Malaka's thoughts through critical analysis of Tan Malaka's works. The aim is to examine Tan Malaka's thoughts as one of the phenomenal Indonesian thinkers and the Father of the Republic of Indonesia. This article wants to present the idea of a Republic that Tan Malaka envisioned for the Indonesian nation. One of his influential works is Naar de Republiek Indonesia. In his writing, Tan Malaka initiated the Republic as a form of the Indonesian state. The republic that Tan Malaka hopes for is a republic based on communism with democracy as the system for exercising power. With this form of state, Tan Malaka hopes that class differences that cause oppression can be overcome. Therefore, Tan Malaka made communism the ideology of the republic he aspired to and made the Indonesian Communist Party the main tool for achieving Indonesian independence. Even though it was not completely successful, Tan Malaka's contribution of thought ultimately gave inspiration to form the Republic of Indonesia. So, until now the form of the Indonesian state has become a Republic.

Abstract

This article discusses the Catholic Church's teaching on the title of Mary as Mother of God. It demonstrates that the title of Mary as Mother of God has its basis in Scripture. In the Church's teaching tradition, especially among the Church Fathers, the title of Mary as Mother of God is also well-known. Thus, Mary, Mother of God, has deep roots in Church tradition. In the life of the Church today, this title certainly carries spiritual significance. Mary is an example for us that by trusting in God's will, God will always accompany us in facing all things. Mary became the Mother of God because, by her example to God, she accepted the task God gave her. Mary is also revered by Catholics for this example. Mary was elevated to the position of Mother of God because of her courage in carrying out the task God gave her in realizing God's work of salvation, thus God gave Mary a special place.

This article discusses the act of suicide and how the Catholic Church views suicide in relation to the meaning of life as stated in Genesis 2:7. Suicide is an undeniable human act, even within the Catholic Church. It can be said that the phenomenon of suicide is a common occurrence that can happen to anyone, regardless of background. Abstract

The presence of Christ in the Eucharist is one of the very important teachings in the Tradition of the Catholic Church. The Eucharist, also known as the Holy Communion, is the pinnacle of Christian life. In the celebration of the Eucharist, the faithful believe that Christ is truly present in the form of Bread and Wine that have been consecrated by the priest. The discussion of this theme is very relevant, as it can help the faithful understand more deeply the meaning of the Eucharist, and provide a clearer understanding of the theological foundations that underpin this teaching. This rejection and the attitude of doubt regarding Christ's presence in the sacrificial Eucharist have led some people to lose their faith, even leaving the embrace of the holy Mother Church. Therefore, we, the authors, are interested and want to explore further the teaching on the presence of Christ in the Eucharist, based on the insights from the Apostolic exhortation of Holy Father Benedict XVI, in the document Sacramentum Caritatis.

Abstract

This article discusses the theme of ecological repentance to maintain the integrity of creation. The background to this article is the fact that environmental damage threatens the life of nature, both humans and other creatures. Environmental damage encourages humans to change the way they think, feel, and act in relation to creation. This is what is meant by ecological repentance. This repentance must begin with the will of the heart and culminate in concrete actions and behaviors that maintain the integrity of the environment. Without ecological repentance, we will continue to witness environmental destruction, which also has negative effects on human life. Ecological repentance is an urgent call for humanity to re-realize the profound connection between humans and the universe as God's creation. In a world increasingly beset by environmental crises such as climate change, forest destruction, water and air pollution, and biodiversity extinction, ecological repentance becomes a form of moral and spiritual reflection on human lifestyles that have often been consumptive, exploitative, and unsustainable.

Abstract

The essay deals with Word of God as source of liturgical spirituality This paper aims to discover the spirituality of the Eucharistic celebration based on a biblical-liturgical analysis of the Emmaus Story (Luke 24:13-35). If we reconstruct the Emmaus story from a liturgical perspective, specifically the Eucharistic celebration, then the structure of the Eucharistic celebration becomes very clear. The biblical-liturgical analysis of the Emmaus Story shows that the Eucharist is a spiritual journey with the Risen Lord. God's presence is sometimes not recognized because we are covered by worries, anxieties, and unfulfilled hopes. The Emmaus Story also points us to two important structures of the Eucharistic celebration: the liturgy of the Word and the liturgy of the Eucharist. In the liturgy of the Word, Christ himself speaks and opens our hearts by explaining the contents of Scripture. In the Liturgy of the Eucharist, the Risen Christ allows himself to be known through the breaking of bread. The Eucharist is not only a celebration, but is directed towards the transformation of life that enables believers to become witnesses of Jesus' resurrection.

Abstract

This article discusses Etu, a traditional boxing ritual practiced by the Boawae community in Nagekeo Regency, within the broader context of cultural preservation and ritual expression in Indonesia. More than just a physical contest, Etu serves as a thanksgiving ceremony for harvests and embodies values of gratitude, communal unity, and sacred tradition. The study aims to explore the symbolic meanings and cultural functions of Etu amid the changing realities of modern life and migration. Using a qualitative, narrative-descriptive approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and literature review. Findings show that Etu is governed by customary rules, involves symbolic attire, sacred spaces, and distinct roles. While the ritual remains vibrant in its local setting, diaspora communities face challenges in practicing it due to limited resources and the absence of traditional structures. Nevertheless, the study identifies potential strategies for cultural preservation through digital means, such as live streaming and virtual participation. villages and those who have migrated elsewhere.
